What's with all the Image Threads?

All of a sudden we are inundated with untitled and uncaptioned image threads for anyone looking at Recent Content.  What gives?

Noticed that today as well. It'd be nice if there was a sidebar for photos - perhaps instead of a 'Leaderboard".

This is related to the contest to post images in the gallery.    I had this problem when they first started doing locations on the map.   In the "content types" dropdown deselect images and those threads should disappear.

It’s busy now because of the contest but I’d expect it to calm down to a normal pace after that. Just needed a kickstart to get people using the gallery so they could get comfortable with it. 
 

While it’s true you can use rules to hide them, I’d advise leaving them in because the future content should be great stuff that will flow nicely with the feed.

You still see the images in the posts, you just don’t see that new images are being posted in the gallery.

After the contest calms down I may turn it back on. But now I hate sifting through those posts to see content.

I tried, but cant seem to find out how to upload in the gallery, it only lets me use a web link or someone elses folder?
