2023 Official Member Review: PuttOUT Devil Ball

For sirchuncksalot:  I have both the pressure putt trainer and the devil ball. I have used both together. Honestly, the pressure putt trainer is hard enough to stop a regular ball in the target.  I find the pressure putt trainer best for working on putt speed. The devil ball works exactly as advertised. I think it is best for working on a square putter face at contact and starting line. The devil ball is good for identifying contact squarely on the putter face  sweetspot. That feature is a plus for me because I find adding anything to my putter face (like rubber bands) to accentuate off- center hits artificial and distracting. My only criticism of the devil ball is the requirement to carefully reset the ball before each putt. For me, it is tedious. However, I do like the ball marker/alignment aid. You can get the same start line feedback with an EyeLine Golf Myroll 2-color ball or similar. I can roll a regular ball all day with the pressure putt trainer without worrying about the orientation of the ball or stooping and bending to set the ball.

I have one and that is my set up, it will be frustrating but I have not expectations of getting that ball to stop as a perfect putt, just hoping to hit the hole

That could make for both an interesting and frustrating test. The good thing is, if you can consistently roll the ball through the gates and hit the pressure trainer, you should be a sniper on the greens.

It was hard to find a straight putt on the practice green. Really felt like my start line during the round was improved…

@Micah T that’s pretty brave of you to test your putter confidence before you head out for a round!

Love the optics! Swings, shots you hit, setup, putting...is all based on how you see the ball and the windows through which you hit the ball. A line you see from behind the ball is not exactly the same once you address the ball. Train the brain to help keep the game simple. Cheers to red numbers!!!

Why?  It doesn't look the same due to parallax error;  you can adjust your setup to make them look the same.

What setting are you using for all your putts?   I have found that I do pretty well on the easy and intermediate and not terrible on the difficult.

Yes, error. Random for most. No such thing as a perfect swing or setup. As mentioned, I try to keep it simple. See, it feel it, do it.
Golf is just awesome, love all of it!

I’m using the hardest side from 5 feet and closer: from 6-10 feet I’m using the intermediate, and from longer the easy side.

I didn’t post the video of me sinking 2 footers with a regular ball to make me feel better

A couple things I have noticed. As others have said this thing is tricky to get going right. Second my house is not very level at all

Oh no its me for sure, but when the ball stops going as far offline and sometimes starts coming back I am gonna go with the house.

I did have a pretty good day then on short putts. I kept the 4 footers rolling in

I just wrapped up baseline testing for myself on 200 11' foot putts (the longest I can do) and will be adding at least 3 times a week of around 50 putts and then will check in with more testing to see if it improves

Just to help me understand…You are  practicing exclusively with the devil ball and checking how many you hit square vs not square?

I will probably do some smaller sessions in between with the regular ball but the test is to see how I do on the larger sample. I also tracked left and right miss on the putts. And yes I will see how many I can hit straight with the devil ball, so I would like to track some of that data as well.
