Jon Rahm WITB: New Driver + Fairway Woods

With a new driver and fairway woods in the bag, Jon Rahm carded a final round 63 to win The Sentry Tournament of Champions! His switch is especially noteworthy after Rahm led the PGA TOUR in Strokes: Gained Off The Tee last season with his Rogue ST, and during offseason testing he saw a 4 MPH ball speed gain with his new driver. On Sunday, one of the broadcast commentators stated on-air that, "This driver is the best club in his bag."

Jon ranked 2nd in the field in driving distance and led the field in Putts Per GIR. Here's a look at what's in his bag:

Paradym Triple Diamond Driver (10.5°) - Aldila Tour Green 75TX Shaft

Paradym Triple Diamond Fairway Wood (16°) - Aldila Tour Green ATX 85 Shaft

Paradym Triple Diamond Fairway Wood (18°) - Graphite Design Tour AD DI 8X Shaft

Apex TCB Irons (4-PW) - Project X 6.5 Shafts

Jaws Raw Wedges (52°, 56°, 60°) - Project X 6.5 Shafts

New Paradym Drivers Go Into Play

The new Paradym Drivers officially launched on the PGA TOUR this week at the Sentry Tournament of Champions, where Rahm, Xander Schauffele, Sam Burns, Adam Svensson and one of the first round tournament co-leaders all had one in the bag. Players are seeing increases in ball speed, and (like Rahm) Schauffele saw a 4 MPH increase during testing. TOUR Pros have also commented that the downrange dispersion is tighter with this lineup, leading to greater accuracy off the tee.

Paradym's construction is led by an industry-first 360 Carbon Chassis that promotes unprecedented weight redistribution for maximized distance, with a Triaxial Carbon crown and Forged Carbon sole that are over 40% lighter than a titanium chassis. This massive weight savings is repositioned forward to enhance ball speed, and toward the back of the clubhead to increase forgiveness. Full details on the Paradym Family are available here.

Most tour pros don’t when they switch to the new head.

I've noticed that Rahm is an early adopter for sponsors new tech, was with TM and still with Callaway. He's just what OEMs want for a brand ambassador-player. But then I suspect most pros could play almost any club with the right shaft, weighting, etc.

It's the players who won't give up really old clubs that surprise me, superstition? e.g. JT's TS3 3W and 915Fd 5W - I can't believe Titleist is happy about that???

Watched it this weekend  - it seemed like one continuous Callaway commercial. I do think Rahm definitely deserved the win with his performance on Sunday.

I’m not a Callaway fan, but in that they aired the last full hour without commercial interruptions, I think they’re entitled to hog the spotlight. Fair trade IMO.
