I have a good layer program going on as well, similar to you I have some long sleeve (lets call them undershirts) then a golf shirt (layer 2) then a zip up fleece (layer 3) always a neck warmer (that is the go to) and then a Bruins hat (which makes most of my playing partners mad) if it is really cold I put on a shell (layer 4) and a touque instead of a hat. I have hand warmers too but I put them in my pocket. Fleece lined pants if my legs get cold. For me it’s base layer, golf shirt, one of several different 1/4 zips of various thicknesses, and then a vest. Beanie for my bare skull if it’s windy. The Galvin Green insula gear works very well, but it’s pricey (wait for it to go on sale). Add a cart cover (does a great job at keeping the wind out) and you’re all set. The red rooster gloves have little silicone roosters on it for additional grip which is nice and something I think all rain gloves need. I can't play with 2 gloves either.
