Busy couple of days ahead with district level meetings, soccer season starting at school (coaching yet another season) and more baseball games for my son. Popular Post Wheelieb
Morning All, Took leave for today and tomorrow. I have use or lose days that I need to use before October 1st, so it makes sense to just take a few today as the wife and I are going to a concert later today. It’ll be in Richmond and I just don’t feel like getting home late just to wake up like 4 hours later to go to work. Gonna go to the golf store and gander at a few things. Popular Post CSiders12
Good morning! The nice weather has subsided and we are back to the cold and windy temperatures. Unfortunately, that means no golf for the extended future. My golf club sent out an email to all of the members stating that the course won't open until it's consistently above 50°. Popular Post MattWillGolf
Good morning Spies, Uppa with a cuppa. Watched the sun come up. We had a bit of snow yesterday so the home course opening won’t be any time soon. Not much on tap today. I have a 2 mile run to complete today. I was texting my son last night to “discuss” my dermatologist’s med recommendation. I am leaning towards staying with the topicals. They manage my psoriasis, the arthritis is barely noticeable and in no way impacts my quality of life. I’ll just monitor the situation since I don’t want to jump into a med the reduces one’s immune response at this point. Popular Post ILMgolfnut
Good morning Spies! One subject today and then head for Pinehurst (crossing fingers that said subject doesn't have any issues that jeopardize my tee time on Pinehurst #1, which could happen; perhaps I should have asked for something later than 1:32 p.m.) Two incidents since my last report: I was driving back to the hotel from work yesterday and my phone rings. Caller ID says "Gallup", so I answer. It was indeed a Gallup pollster and I spent the next 18 minutes answering his questions on all sorts of things -- politics, the economy, the environment, etc. As a former journalist who sometimes wrote about polls, it was interesting to participate in one for the first time. I've been called by some podunk local pollsters but never a major national polling organization. Speaking of hotels, as I've noted/complained here, I spend half my life in them, usually a Marriott (I would not be surprised if I make Ambassador Elite by the end of the year, which is 100 nights; tonight will be my 27th night of the year on March 20). Often when I check into my room, the TV is on and says "Hello Jeff," which is a nice touch. So this morning I turn on the TV while I'm packing to check out and it said "Hello Chris, thank you for staying in room 401." Well, I'm not Chris and I wasn't in room 401. Also crossing my fingers that I can decently hack my way around #1 this afternoon; my recent range sessions have not been overly reassuring. It was not Rahm short, but I did explode through the ball and hit I straighter and longer. Does anyone else shorten their backswing? What were your results? Look at it a different way. You normally overswing and the shortened swing is probably what your normal swing should be. I think we often do this to get more distance but instead we get out of sequence. The spousal unit had to have a biopsy yesterday and she needs good vibes. won’t know anything until tomorrow or Friday. But pretty nervous. She’s a tough lady and we’re hoping for the best. Los poopies wouldn’t leave her side. I think they sense the stress. On a positive note we got to spend time with the kids. Hope you all have a blessed day and if your playing happy birdie hunting! Have surgery today to remove some teeth and a tumor in my jaw so gonna be no golf for a few days according to the doc. But really the thing I’m not looking forward to is not eating anything today and living off applesauce and mashed potatoes for the next few days Good luck with your surgery.
