I thought about that, but then I'd have to do a separate transaction to get the grips put on. I have neither the equipment nor the patience to do it myself. Plus I'll probably buy a box of Maxfli Tour X while I'm there. That Dick's is right across the street from my hotel, basically, 0.6 miles door to door in the mall parking lot.

Not quite up for 4 dozen, and they don't do the megaboxes for yellow balls anyway. But I did go ahead and put in my order for two grips and a dozen balls, then get the grips put on Sunday afternoon.

Good afternoon to the Morning Crew!  I spent my day at the High School covering English 2.  The teacher left excellent lesson plans for the students, so it was an easy day.  And luckily, no student asked me for help with their assignments.

I use one of those ball retriever things on the end of my putter too. In fact I have 4 of them because I switch putters quite a bit in vintage play.

I remember one night they had a thread on another site about using a putter head (usually Anser style) to get the ball out of the hole. I said no matter how good someone was with that you could damage a hole. I said something about I use the retriever on the end of my putter. This jack wagon stated that was because I was lazy and those things were illegal. I told him frankly BS that there were provisions in the USGA rules for special equipment. I also told him Tim Herron who plays the Champions Tour uses one because of back issues. This idiot further stated well what about teeing up a ball or marking the ball? I told him obviously he had never had a back injury. I told him in our league and the comps I play in we putt out the ball. I told him basically that took 18 times of bending over out of the game. He did not have sense enough to realize there is a difference between teeing up or marking a ball from bending over to get one out of the hole. He further stated that anyone who had to do that should not be playing golf. Man I flew in on him like an Ant to Honey. LOL I was the one who got a warning. He would flip to know now I use a cane when playing Paul Broadhurst style. The cane relieves stress off of my back and helps in footing. I have to be very careful because a wrong fall even now can put me in a wheelchair. I am not slow with it either I am just as fast and even faster than some.

On the Arcoss sensors I have often wondered if they affect SW. I have an uncanny sense of feel so I have always wondered

Have a great day all - it was nice to transition from tearing stuff apart to putting it back together yesterday.  The picture is from less than a minute after they jet us back into the sanctuary to screw the pews back in. A crew was in working on the church floor over night. We are literally at it 24/7. 
 

Like I said many Moons ago when you posted pictures of your Sanctuary it is one of the most beautiful I have ever seen. Glad to see you guys did not get as much damage as some did. Glad to see also the folks to get it cleaned out.

I am not on supervised therapy like Rick is. I do my warm ups and stretches every morning golf or not. What I do though was designed by my therapists and I stick to it.

Exactly I have a small allergy to eggs and it is funny. I can eat something like cake with eggs in it and be ok. Put a plate of any style eggs in front of me and I will never get one fork full down in fact I will barf if the plate is in front of me. I am ok if someone eats them in front of me. According to what I was told some vaccines still use egg culture in production. @ILMgolfnut being a medical professional can possibly shed some light on this.

After a so so round yesterday, I have one more chance today to improve my score for the VCT.  Enjoying a quiet house and coffee currently before making breakfast for the fam.  Plan on doing some outdoor activities with them and just spending time together.

@BIG STU, you would have enjoyed the experience as it requires a lot of creativity. I had a personal best playing these clubs (7 over) thanks to acquiring a putter that has the right feel.

My WITB included two replica transitional woods, four smooth faced original irons and a putter.

Oh yes! I am sure I would enjoy it. I have never played a "Gutty" ball in any shape form or fashion. I would enjoy the challenge.

I had to revamp myself yesterday and get back to my roots so to speak. Since winter is coming on I had added some clubs to my front line set. I had added a little 29* hybrid I can hit well but do not need. I also decided I did not need the 58* wedge either since I can manipulate the Cleveland 56* like I used to. I am keeping the 9 wood in though. Back down to only 11 clubs. My old adage less clubs less decisions. 

Today is Par3 day for the wife and me. I am playing the Hickory stuff and "cheating" somewhat. The course is by the ocean and there are a couple of holes up the hill with the wind in my face I can't hit with the Mashie or Mashie Niblick. I decided to put in a 985 Tourney 8 iron I wanted to try anyhow. I only have the 5,7 and 8 irons on that set. One of the guys on WRX sent them along with some assorted clubs a few years back when I was hurt. I have a lead on a set of Hickory clubs do not know the brand yet or if they are really Hickory or Pyra Tone. Will be playing a wound Maxfli Elite ball today as usual.

Good Morning as I guess everyone can see I am up reading and doing replies. Man this thread moves fast. I had gotten slack since yesterday morning.

Like I told @Hickory4ever today is Hickory golf up on the Par3 with the wife.

Yesterday was tough we only had 6 show up so we did not do a money game we just played. It was cold and windy. I did manage to salvage an 89 not playing good. We were first off and played the front in like 1 hr and 15 minutes. The back 9 was another story. We ran into a log jam with old snowbirds. Part of it was the starter's fault sending out 3 2 somes in a row. Took us 3 hours to play the back nine. One of our guys raised hell at 2 of the old farts. They quit and went in and complained to the club house. Our owner asked one of our players who yelled and he said he did and told him why. Come to find out they started on #10 when they were told to start on #1. It is starting to be that time of the year. Of course our owner was not going to say much to our member who yelled because he just renewed his membership for 10 years. I think after the Tournament next week I am shutting it down in the League until spring. Oh I will still play just slip in 9 hole vintage rounds, my Sunday vintage rounds and of course Par3 rounds. 

I came home yesterday and got stuff checked for the weekend and the Tournament next week. Right now I keep 3 different bags set up for play fully stocked with tees, balls and gloves. Stuff already loaded for the Par 3 today.

Today is the Cambridge Classic, the last golf tournament of the year. It is a two man team with 6 holes scramble, six holes alternate shot and six hole of better ball. My friend Bill and I are playing in the Net Division and are just looking to have a good time.

I will be playing what passes for modern clubs in my bag today. That is two modern Taylormade woods, two old Adams Idea Pro hybrids, 1987 Taylormade TP irons, a Cleveland 588 Sw (I know @BIG STUwould approve) and a Bullseye putter. Yesterday was Hickory Friday and I played 1920’s clubs and Thursday was pre 1900 hickory with gutty ball. I will be playing classic era clubs tomorrow to make it four different eras in four days.

Happy Saturday All!  Up and about a little earlier than usual.  Dogs will be getting a oh dark thirty morning walk.  Got yard work, drywall repair, cabinet install and a faucet replace on the agenda today (and none of it for my house)  I think I better raise my rates from $0 or my family might just take advantage of me.
The only silver lining is I'm waiting on the Newton shaft so my chores won't cut into any testing.

Good morning Spies on the start of a good looking weather weekend here.

Need to get a few things done around the house in preparation for the winter season which will be upon us, hopefully later than sooner.

Also hoping to get some practice putting on the green at the course close to the house later this afternoon. Want to keep working on the lessons and drills provided by @cnosil through the Phil Kenyon link.

Well, I cannot top you but Good Lord willing after Sunday morning it will be 3 different eras in 3 days.

LOL will give you a funny one. One of my League Buds works at PGASS and is a fitter and knows his stuff. Yesterday he was talking about some of the Snowbirds playing antique stuff and not knowing crap. He was as he said talking about people playing 30- and 40-year-old clubs. I told him hey man I resemble that remark as I pointed to my bag. He came right back and said I am not talking about you because you know what you are doing. I did see one old codger with an unusual set at the Club House. He had a cheap no name bag with some cheap no name CBs in it. He also had some kind of big modern driver. But he had a beautiful set of Slazenger Crown Sterling persimmon woods. I offered to buy them to go with my set of Crown Sterling irons. He just looked and rode away. I do not know if it was the language barrier (as in French Canadian) or he was dingy or what because I got no reaction. This time of the year one can see some real vintage stuff here. Some have taken up golf this trip and have clubs and balls stored in Uncle Harry's attic for 40 years. Believe it or not I can find Balata balls sometimes on the course.  My league bud is the one when I tested the QI TM driver told me to keep the old Cally in my bag and my money in my pocket.

Ours on the little Par3 course is at 10 AM. Should warm up ok. Of course it is always windy being just 500 yards off the Atlantic Ocean.

Correct. Many flu vaccines in particular are made using eggs. The egg proteins are removed during the purification process, but they still recommend you avoid those types of flu shots if you have an egg allergy. Yellow fever and Q fever vaccines are also prepared using eggs. Yellow fever vaccine is particularly likely to have remaining egg protein.

Good morning Spies. Awoke this morning to find a puddle in the bathroom floor; the toilet tank is leaking. Already submitted a maintenance request to the landlord, although I doubt it will be repaired before I leave for Charlotte tomorrow. I'll just turn off the water and use the second bathroom. Could I fix it myself? I could if I had the proper tools, but I don't; they disappeared in one of my innumerable moves and I've never replaced them. Don't really want to bother with it either, to be honest.

I put the Newton 2-dot shaft into my Mizuno driver head last night. Looks nice! Now all I need is a grip, and that is waiting for me at Dick's in Charlotte. From there I'll probably go to First Tee and try it out.

Good morning! 

I'm up earlier on a Saturday morning than I want to be and had to set an alarm since our new oven is being delivered today. I hate setting an alarm for the weekend for any other reason than golf since I wake up to one at 3:15 every morning for work. We have a window for them showing up between 8-12... Who do they think they are, the cable company? 

I'm in a good mood since I was able to get out and enjoy a beautiful 65 degree day on the golf course yesterday. I didn't score too well but I got some good shots into bad places. I actually hit a functional 6 iron although it flew the green but I wasn't about to hit one into the creek. I ain't complaining since it allowed me to make a spectacular up and down for my only par of the day. I had about 8 blow-up holes and 1 good one. 

We also have someone supposed to show up to get our old oven around 2 so it's going to be a day off waiting around the house. 

@revkevI'm happy to see the sanctuary looking good again and it's amazing what people can do when they come together. 

@Northern Monkey I can't wait to hear the news that BluBear is at home. I'm sure you all will be happy to be reunited.

I had seen the giveaway (still on the RR email list from buying a glove) but I didn't scroll down enough to notice you could enter without making a purchase. I frankly wasn't that impressed with the RR glove. Nice, but it didn't last any longer or fit any better than the cheap ones I buy at Walmart. I'm not hard on gloves, perhaps because I avoid playing in hot weather when you sweat through the leather.

Didn't make it over to vote yesterday. The early voting place is open this afternoon, but I'm thinking I'll go Tuesday after I get back from Charlotte. I can't wait for this election season to be over. Living in a so-called battleground state, my mailbox and my TV are both full of lame political ads and I'm sick of them, from both sides. And my phone inbox is crammed with political spam. That will still be the case after I vote, but I will have done my part.

My son and I are up and at ‘em with pancakes already eaten and still sipping on coffee. Mama is still asleep, we try not to wake her up until 8 unless I have a really good reason for an earlier tee time. (This is a newish development as I used to love to be one of the first out on the course). So it’s just us boys up ready to take on the day

In regard to the 2nd part, I’m PA. Political ads should only be allowed 1-month before voting starts. It’s non-stop all the time. Can’t stand it.

Good morning Spies!

We had an awesome first day in Pinehurst. Tot Hill Farm was an incredibly special and fun course. You can really tell how much thought and creativity Mike Strantz put into designing it. I was striking the ball well, but ended up shooting higher there than I would've liked.

However, I bounced back on Pinehurst #9 in the afternoon to tie for the low round in the group. We were worried about finishing our second round; there was a frost delay in the morning at Tot Hill Farm that pushed us back. Luckily we tapped in on 18 last night just before total darkness enveloped us.

This morning we have a tee time at The Cradle, Pinehurst's short course. We didn't have time to check out Thistle Dhu last night, so we'll be going there before the short course. Southern Pines is this afternoon and I'm excited to check it out. My body is definitely sore after 36 holes yesterday, but we'll get some good stretching and the massage gun working.
