Popular Post ILMgolfnut
Howdy Spies! Just got back from my semi-annual checkup. Clean bill of health, but we're going to try something different to help with sleep, in addition to hopefully dealing with the shoulder pain. About to go to the pharmacy to pick that up. Otherwise dealing with paperwork all day, to go to South Carolina, go to Baltimore at some point, and get licensed in West Virginia. I'm going to try a Rypstick workout for the first time in a while this evening, and hope my shoulder tolerates it. Edit: Got the Rypstick done, my first this month. Took me eight swings at the end to get five decent speeds (not sure if that was me or the radar not picking up properly; suspect a combination of both), but the average was 89.4 mph with a high of 91. Yes, I know for some of you 89.4 mph is your CHS with a sand wedge, but that's decent for me, especially not having done any work in two weeks plus. Shoulder is okay so far; took care to warm up a little extra before the session. I have not posted much for a bit, spending time with FABWIFE as we wait for the next step in her diagnosis and treatment. We still don’t know even if she is sick and may not know until a biopsy is done. Imaging is inconclusive. Next appointment is not until 9/30 and a biopsy would follow that. Topping it off, she had a fall and broke her finger and knocked out a filling. Hand surgeon appointment today, as she is likely to need surgery on the tendon. Dentist tomorrow. So, yeah, she fully deserves and has been getting my attention and care as much as possible. Going through the ringer. Catching up: Huge congrats to @Cfhandyman on the birth of your grandchild! Popular Post Indy_Oz
Good evening Spies! Tomorrow I drive North into Michigan on a work trip. Having to visit a supplier on Friday 13th, I've compensated the weekend impact by booking a round at the venue of the Senior PGA Championships and Jack Nicklaus design course, Harbor Shores (Benton Harbor, SW Michigan). I've been to the beach and town there plenty of times (we go most summers for a day or three), but I've never visited this golf resort and course. It looks amazing! Here's hoping for continued good weather and great course conditions. As a young golfer I LOVED bunker shots and would practice them loads. These days not so much (my local muni doesn't have bunkers and the courses around me vary from rock hard bunkers to soft sand and everything inbetween!)... and this is a Lake Michigan coastal course with LOADS of bunkers and what look like sand dune hazards. Should be fun... Hopefully the folks I'm grouped with are friendly and welcoming of an out of state Limey . I'll try to remember to take some photos to share. The other bonus for the trip is that I'll get to go and stay with former neighbors and good friends that moved up to West Michigan 3 years ago. Popular Post BIG STU
Up this morning. No golf planned. I have started taking Tuesday and Thursdays off to let the body rest. I was off line due to server problems yesterday. We are fixing to drop Spectrum. I will not elaborate on 911 because it gets me wound up too much. Hell No I will never forget!!! I will say I was up there helping out about 36 hours after it happened. I was a Volunteer Fireman and on Haz Mat Team in our county. 2 of us went up and stayed a week. So far no health effects from exposure etc. for me or the other guy. On the golf front yesterday was not good or bad except for the fact I did salvage the round not being on point. We did take second place money out of 5 teams. My wife is working now and will do our weekly shopping afterwards. Not sure on breakfast yet whether we eat in or out. Not really sure of what I will do today. Afterward a cold beer overlooking Indian Falls nearby was the tangible reward for the Patriots Day of remembrance with the big flagpole Old Glory at half mast. Popular Post ILMgolfnut
Good morning Spies! Still no AC at the Casa, and the thermostat reported a toasty 77 at 7:30 when I got up, nine degrees warmer than the outside temperature. Previous inhabitants removed almost all the window screens so GF does not view opening the windows at night as an option. The technician came out yesterday, identified a problem with the outside unit, and is awaiting the go-ahead from the landlord to fix it, which means in turn the owner has to approve the expenditure. The good news is the tech has the needed parts available and can get it done quickly once those hoops are cleared. Our sunroom has its own AC unit, similar to a hotel room AC, which still works well, so GF wanted to try to sleep out there in a pallet on the concrete floor. Her back instructed her otherwise. Shoulder is no worse after Rypstick than before, so that's good. It still bothers me to lie on it, so I have that going on along with the lack of AC. The question I have to decide is what I want to do if the MRI in two weeks finds something surgical. I've assisted on enough shoulder surgeries to know they suck, but poor sleep sucks too. I decided to wait to try the new sleep medication until I know I don't have to drive anywhere the next day, which probably means tonight; that stuff kicks some people's butts, and I've never taken it before. Hoping I can join the CC this afternoon, work permitting. Sounds like a good one! Lots going on today with various Spies, it seems. Popular Post cksurfdude
Good Morning!! Another really nice looking day here with mild temps and low humidity. Ahhh if only every day .... Back is doing better, thx everyone. Heat and ice have helped; may try to go back to the acupuncturist again today, too. FYI if you haven't seen it, under Lessons, Drills, Fitness Tips is a new thread - "Ask A Physio" - from someone with TPI and PT certifications. May try a little chipping and putting practice later .. gotta keep my meager skills at least where they are! .. and try to catch the Community Call before happy hour / date night with my honey. Hope everyone can get out and have a really great day today!! Northern Monkey, Byrnzee, sirchunksalot and 9 others 12 Quote WITB of an "aspiring" play-ah ...
