So, unfortunately, @TG8 blew out his back earlier this week, so we've asked a fellow L.A.B. devotee to step in in his stead - @Syks7 will be teaming up with me for this week's match!  Watch out, whomever we play (I say this because for the life of me I can't remember if we have another match against the Muscle Flaps or not)

Getting 64 handicaps, 64 courses loaded including hole rating, entering 64 scores, calculating net scores, finding the best score for 32 teams, then establishing 16 matches, and calculating the score for 8 teams. Dang man, what took you so long?

Dang....i must have had too much common sense strategy in that first round match. 

Lesson learned....more questionable judgement is needed.

Getting in my second round at one of the private clubs I caddy at. I know the course inside and out but this will be my first time playing it. I’m pretty sure I can play my most aggressive round of the season and make it pay big dividends. This strategy is so questionable there’s no way it can fail!

It is in the current week VCT.  Same location as before in the custom field.

I was very curious so I crunched the numbers of our (Team 3A, @Ben Joest & Shlax) Week 1 Matchplay against Team 4A (@LinksgolfFever & @swansosa).

It was indeed a thrilling comeback story! Unfortunately, we were on the receiving end of a stellar back-nine performance by Team 4A.

Team 3A held the lead for 16 holes and was 4 UP after shooting a net -7 on the first 10 holes. Team 4A then regrouped following an inspirational halftime speech by [innsert person of your choosing] and came back on the field with nothing to lose. They tore down the course by shooting 6 net birdies and a net eagle on the next 8 holes for a net -8 on the back-nine and to tie the match on the 17th hole. The last hole was do or die for both teams and was finally halved.

Who said that golf (and virtual golf at that) was boring ?

Good thing I didn't know the stakes or the knees would have been knocking a whole lot more trying to get up and down for par to close out the round.

Thanks RoverRick for the post.  Throw in trying to find course information for those who didn't include it and dealing with other changes and challenges, it made the first week a bit hectic week one.   With the kinks out, week 2 should be better.

I unofficially kept score for my team and you are right. It was thrilling just calculating the scores on a seesaw match. 
 

I thought the scores should have been listed in order of handicap not order of play. However, I was wrong. This added a level of randomness that adds excitement. There is always randomness in golf and the fact that you may be on the hardest hole and your teammate on the easiest while your opponents are on middle holes but one gets a stroke adds to the excitement. 
 

My teams ended up with the 2 lower handicaps together and the 2 higher together. I fretted about it all week (along with I would be healthy enough to play), and it was needless worry. The handicap system and randomness lead to some close matches.
 

And shoutout to @DonnieGolfs for the eagle on a par 4 stroke hole for a net one. I was happy we weren’t doing a net stroke play team event. That would have changed the outcome of that match.

@Tom the Golf Nut will be playing more rounds than I can count this week, but they all happen to be scrambles while he is "working" lol.  Have fun Tom!!

@Pinetree our pre-assigned backup is ready for action, and will be filling the role and playing as @Bohnson team mate.  

I will remain paired with @Mikedb26.... and I have to tell you... I'm more than a little concerned about our match this week.  Team Barbie's Birdie Bandits is rolling @BKervin and @MsWalkrOfSky out and that is a team to be reckoned with!!!
