The Good Evening Thread

Excellent thread! I just found it. I had an excellent labor day. I took my family to the beach on Lake Michigan which is about an hour away from our place. The beach was awesome. The kiddos always love it. However, during our excursion, we drove by Arcadia Bluffs (North and South). I made my family suffer while we drove down the lane, all the way up to the clubhouse to catch a peak of the unbelievable views of Arcadia Bluffs course. I've played it twice but it's been some years and I've never played the South course. I couldn't help but daydream about standing on the edge of the bluffs in golf shoes and chasing the perfect shot. I had an excellent time but I was thinking about the links all day! We were headed to Frankfurt for dinner anyway so I made them humor me while I drove by Crystal Downs. You can only see the drive and glimpses of a couple holes but I never miss the chance. Crystal Downs is number one on the bucket list and it is without competition. The Old Course is number two. The difference is, I have a realistic chance of playing the Old Course before I die. Playing Crystal Downs is not necessarily what I would call realistic.

For everyone that didn't play golf today, I feel your pain! For everyone that did, I am happy for you!

Evening gang,

Spent the morning running around getting errands done, nothing major. Glad to be a part of the Tour Striker test, it is going to be a fun one for sure for all of us who were selected. Class tonight per usual, but I just wanted to drop in and wish everybody a good evening.

Much better after the championship! Good evening spies! The last two rounds have been way better. I just have to figure out how to get these results in competition. 

As soon as I figure that out I think I’ll blog it too. Gonna do some research. Hope everyone had a great day! Four tweeters in two rounds! Almost got an today, but you can’t score if you don’t get it to the hole. Next time. Have a good evening spies!

Sort of a long backstory but I will keep it brief. One of my deals I had racing I maintained a stock class SCCA Pontiac Astre car for a guy. He talked me into going to Road Atlanta one weekend with him. They had an incident we were not involved in. It escalated because a guy fired up a car in an "unauthorized area" Come to find out it was not a safety factor involved but the official in charge of the area admitted he put in the rule in because the noise hurt his ears. I knew one of the officials quite well and he said "Give some members a little bit of authority and they will form a committee and several sub committees> See that light pole over there? Give a member the job of guarding that pole and time he gets done the power company will need a pass from the Govenor of the state to change the light bulb" enough said

Good evening spies! Hopefully you had a good mid week day! I did some research on my next topic that I’ll be posting soon. It was very educational and I plan on using it from now on. I am not playing today, but golf is on my mind. We’re having thunderstorms right now and have had a couple already today, usually only last upwards of an hour but some serious water falls. Ran across this meme and kinda relate to it, so I thought I’d share it with you.

Actually have made a pretty good habit of getting out there and keeping on the continuous improvement with the gap between outings. Good 'not quite' evening spies,

Range practice was solid this morning and then I hit the PGA Superstore to try out some irons. I literally have never hit another iron other than the Rams in my bag and what the heck are you guys playing with out there The game improvement irons are so closed at the face for draw bias that I thought I was swinging a scythe. The width of the bottom left me with a good amount fat shots as well. You don't even have to shaft lean the G730s really.  Maybe I'm crazy? Maybe.

Anyways, just wanted to drop in and wish you all a good evening. I have a fantasy football draft about to start in a bit and then class tonight. Later!

Good evening everyone. Mid Michigan had a totally delightful day today. Sunny, mid 70's and a light breeze. Totally worth putting up with winters for. Sad news is our league has shut down for the season. A number of our members are in the farming community and harvest season will be starting in a few weeks. Have to get the combines and harvesters fixed up. First big crop will be the sugar beets. Team I'm on came in tied for 5th place in the league. (Not going to say how many teams, 5th place sounds cooler) but I did get the $20 bonus for having the low handicap in the league. Always can use $20. You all have a great one.

I think we all miss that cat! Loved his wit and energy. Enjoyed conversing with him. He was the first person to reach out to me and I appreciated that. I’m praying @Dead Solid Bogey is doing well.

  I think everyone enjoyed everything @Dead Solid Bogey posted here. Smart,  witty, comical, completely relatable, and dang near poetic! I truly hope hes doing ok, and for whatever reasons he has for staying in the shadows, I hope he reads this and knows he has friends here!

Court was as expected,  3 hours of waiting,  just to have it continued,  again.  This case has been 2 years of the same, and my testimony, reports, and evidence hasn't changed.  But the defendant keeps changing lawyers.  Such is life of a LEO.

Went to work at the GC,  prepping for a 200 person tournament tomorrow,  running shotgun style on all 27 holes.  Fortunately,  I won't be working it!

I did manage to squeeze out 9 holes on the par 3 course that just reopened.  45 minute round and only used 3 clubs +putter

I checked every couple of days for activity since I messaged him a month ago. I really hope all is alright.
