Has anyone seen Lucas Glover's new Prototype DF3 Broomstick putter in person at the Players

Are you asking if someone has attended the Players and seen his putter or has anyone held one in their hands?   The later has probably not happened as the putter hasn’t been commercially released and people that have seen it in person is probably a very small group,

I have to say Xander is not one I typically root directly for but I’d like to see him pull this one off. I think he’s overdue for how he has been playing lately

We're set up for an epic final round, including a repeat of the back and forth battle between Schauffele and Clark we had in round 3.

Who gets it done?

Same here! I wasn’t able to watch any coverage on Friday, so I didn’t find out he had a neck issue until Saturday.  Neck injuries are tough to grind through and 4 under is “better than most”

I think the marshals needed to do a better job realizing where his path was and moving people back. I agree with you that’s way to close regardless of who is hitting that shot

That is just cruel…didn’t get to watch any of the final round as I was on the course.  Finished 18 and checked scores and was shocked to see Scottie in the lead.

Happy for him, even injured/hurting still shoots a fantastic score.

Just catching the highlights... yea, that lip out was a real kick in the willy.  Xander's driver ghosted him on Sunday and while I would have liked him to win, I was pulling for Harman down the stretch as I've always liked him and his gritty game.  Also, because both Clark and Scheffler have just won and wanting to spread the wealth so to speak.

Such a shame that Xander put himself in difficult approaches down the stretch.  I really would have liked to see Xander win this, and Harman would have been my second sentimental favorite.  I would also like to see different guys winning to spread the wealth.  Of course, you can't take anything away from Scottie, he's truly a phenom.

I was listening to the tournament on SXM in the car driving to Raleigh, and the announcer went nuts when Scottie holed out on 4. It was a few seconds before I actually figured out he'd gotten an eagle.

Clark’s putt was tough to watch. Great ending though. I was watching it at work and a lot of the guys who don’t really get interested all started creeping in to see where the leaders were. Everyone let out a big “OOOOOHHHHHHH! NO WAY!” When it lipped out. Awesome finish. Gutted for Xander too. I was definitely rooting for him.

On a downer note,  Eckroat getting a 1 stroke penalty for his teetering put that ended up falling was rough to watch as well. Even Joel was right up close seemingly trying to will it in for him. I know he wasn’t the winner, but it stinks to see these rules showing up each week it seems to penalize a player, or ultimately knock them out(Spieth). Just my 2 cents though.

... While technically it is, it isn't really a penalty stroke. If he would have just tapped it in under the 10 second allowed, his score would be the same. That said, the part I don't completely understand is if the ball is moving you get a penalty stroke for hitting a moving ball. In this situation it is kinda dammed if you do and dammed if you don't.

It is a weird rule for sure.

Not really. The rule says after 10 seconds it’s no longer a ball in motion so one isn’t hitting a ball in motion at that point.

I know, I'm just saying when a ball is clearly still moving, let it play.

I forget who the golfer was that was going to putt on the fringe and hadn't grounded the club and the ball was moving. It rolled on the green and the rules official let him play it from the green.  I don't understand the difference and maybe that rule falls under something else.

When the ball is on the green you can let it play, but when it comes to overhanging putts there is a different rule. One has to make a reasonable walk to the ball and then when you get there one has 10 seconds. After 10 seconds if the ball hasn’t fallen into the hole then per the rule it’s deemed to no longer be in motion, one can’t wait all day or slow walk to the hole. That used to be the rule awhile ago and was changed to 10 seconds.

The second situation is a different rule and believe that situation falls under rule 9.3

There are rules for balls on the green and off the green.

On the green:

  • rule 13.3 Ball overhanging hole:  This is where the 10 second rules comes into effect
  • rule 13.1.d.(2) Not overhanding:
    • If you have marked and replaced your ball you must replace the ball
    • If you haven't marked and replaced you play from the new location

Off the green:

rule 9.3 If the ball is moved by natural forces you play from the new location.
