Popular Post Preeway
Had a great round at Arbor Links, even if it was a little Jekyl and Hyde-ish. Started off with a birdie on the first hole, a downhill par 5. After a good par from the rough on the second, I stuck a wedge on the par three third. It looked close but didn’t realize how close until I got up to the ball. Nice little three footer for birdie. Continued to play well through 7 and then I brain farted the 8th for a triple bogey. Fanned my drive right and my approach was blocked by trees. Tried to hit a big draw to get somewhere close to salvage par and wound up hitting it thin and the trees decided to spit it 80 yards back to my feet. Tried to the punch out to the fairway and hit it too hard and it found the rough on the other side. It doesn’t really get better from there. Was still angry on the next tee box and lost my drive left and had to take a drop. Hit what was now my third from the rough shirt of the green and got up and down for bogey. Took a deep breath on 10 tee but still pulled my drive left into the tall grass. Managed to get out clean and laid up short on the par 5 and got up and down for birdie. It was a roller coaster finish but did manage another great shot on 16. That my birdie putt to the left and my son’s par putt short of the home. It was a good sand save for him. Not a stellar finish missing both greens on 17 and 18 in really difficult bunkers but I did manage to save par on 18 for a respectable 76. I won’t complain about the final score but hoping today I’m a little more consistent off the tee. ejgaudette, MattF, cburins and 13 others 13 3 Quote Driver: Aerojet LS, Ventus Velocore+ Blue Shaft - 6S 4 Wood: Rogue ST Max 16.5, Tensei White Shaft - 7S Utility Iron: Fli Hi 3-iron, HAZARDOUS Smoke Black Shaft - S Irons: JPX 921 Tour 4-P, Project X Shafts - Stiff 125g Wedges: 52º, 56º, 60º Putter: Ai-One 7 T CH, 34" Preferred Ball: Z-Star Diamond Pushcart: Nitron Rangefinder: Pro X3+
Popular Post MaxEntropy
Much better night in league last night. Maybe not in score, but certainly in ball striking. Driver has been so bad the past couple months and was the best it's been in a while last night - I made what felt like a huge adjustment in ball position and it seemed to make all the difference in the world. With the exception of one heel-y slider OB, everything else was very good (or at least very playable). Approach and short game were pretty good, but putting was a disaster - I never had good pace and left it either way short or blew it by. In the end, I shot a 43 which is not great, but I'll take it given my recent form. My handicap also went up to a 5 after last week so being only 2 over my handicap felt pretty good. I had 2 "shots of the night" - both were big flops. The first was on 16 - I pulled drive a bit and had a huge tree directly between me and the hole. I stood there for a long time trying to figure out if I could go over it or if I needed to punch below it. I finally decided to try to go over and opened my 58 quite a bit and swung as hard as I could. I just barely missed the branches closest to me on the way up, but cleared the top pretty easily and made the 5 footer for birdie. On the very next hole (par 3 with upside-down cereal bowl for a green), I lasered 176 to pin and Arccos said to add a club for wind, so I hit a 5 iron. Of course, this would be the time I hit it very solid and it flew the green and bounced down the slope way too much. I hit another flop that landed in the fringe (or so I was told) and trundled past the hole. Par putt lipped out, but given the circumstances, I felt very good about the bogey. Popular Post edingc
Been on a decent little groove since the 4th of July and looking at my spreadsheet and Grint differentials I'm unofficially under a 5 - just barely - at 4.5, for what I think is the first time ever. Been working really hard on a few swing keys/thoughts and four of my last six 18s at home have been 75s or 76s - that has certainly helped bring down the index a bit. My putting has been a little rough at times, and I'm still susceptible to a blow up hole or two, but I finally feel like I'm making progress again. Yup, given the rating of my course, a -2 70 is roughly scratch differential with it increasing 1 per stroke over that. Unfortunately had a couple of dumb bogies on the back this morning else I played really well, could have easily been a +1 or +2 kind of day. I do need to get back on speed training though as I'm definitely shorter than I was a year ago after we did the offseason challenge. Popular Post Swood1994
Was able to fit league in between some rain drops. Game has been on the edge of going low for a while I just can’t seem to put a full round together. I opened with a double due to a very poor Greenside chip then followed up with a 3 putt which I haven’t been doing much of this year. I followed that up with a nice birdie. Overall I had 2 doubles (second one coming on my nemesis hole) 2 bogeys, 3 pars and 2 birdies for a 40. Biggest issue tonight was the driver. I could get consistent off the tee. My iron play and approach shots saved me while my short game and putting was so so. Im hoping to fix the driver or at least make it manageable heading into this weekend for my resort course round William P, edingc, MattF and 7 others 10 Quote Current WITB: Driver: Paradym 10.5 Ventus Black 6S (currently Testing AI Smoke) Fairway: ST-Z 230 3-Wood (15°) HZRDUS Smoke Black 6.0 60 Official Test Hybrid: ST-Z 230 Hybrid (19°) Ventus Blue HB-8 Official Test Irons: MP-18 MMC (4-9) Wedges: Vokey SM8 (46.10F, 50.12F, 54.14F, 58.12D) Putter: Select Squareback 2 34.5 Ping Corded 88G PP58 grip double taped Ball: Pro-V1 Reviews: 2023 Red Rooster Sussex Glove Official Forum Test 2023 Mizuno Long Game Official Forum Test 2024 Skytrak+ Official Forum Test

russtopherb
Shot a 45 in my weekly twilight round. 2 pars but 3 doubles hurt. One of those was on a par 3 that started with my pulling what I thought was my GW for the tee shot but it was really my 8i. Oops. Driving was ok and most of my short game was as well. It had to be since I only hit 2 GIR. BigTiny
Played my season best today. The last few rounds I have played 14 good holes, but had 4 fall apart holes. Today I only had 3 fall apart holes and shot an 82. Today 2 of the 3 bad holes were 17 (triple bogey) and 18 (double bogey). I’m hoping to break 80 this year.
