For those that walk, have you found a preference to the single or double strap system?

Another thing I'll note with the Ghost straps is that while the lining is the super premium, plush velvety material, I have found it to feel pretty slippery on my shoulder when using the single strap. For short distances (vehicle to driving range, etc.) it doesn't really pose an issue. If I were to walk a round, it would be a no doubt double strap carry. Kudos to the caddies who solo strap multiple times a day lol

If walking definitely double starps, if anything else whatever is attached. The strap system on the Ghost bag is the easiest change I seen on a bag. The clips are super simple and functional. I love it honestly. Plus both types of straps are very comfortable. The cushion is by far better then any other bag I have used. I loved it. I will get a better picture of these as well but here a quick one to show the thickness.

When I used the Single strap the other day to walk to the club house and put on a care, I found it to be slippery as well. It also didnt help that I did not adjust anything, and it kept tilting forward.

It definitely is slick and would make me think twice about using it for a round at a place like Sand Valley, should I play there in the future and go with a caddie. I know they typically prefer single strap, but with how easy it is to swap them out I'd probably bring both and let them decide. They may also not care one bit haha and this is all hypothetical as I doubt I'll be playing there this year 🤣 but the kind of stuff that goes through my head.

What about comfort carrying the bag, does it sit at a good spot on your back and how easy is it to adjust the height?

We may have the same brain lol this is and has been what goes through my head. I plan on going to The Kingdom (the one in GA)in September to get fitted, and then play a round. The round is what I keep thinking about with this bag and how bad my sweat will be. I will get fitted and then the round, which means that bag will just be slipping off my shoulder. Lol 😂

I would say with the two straps, it was most comfortable I have ever had, but that’s limited to 3 bags so take that with that. The single strap was slippery over on shoulder but felt good and sat on my hit just right. I think they pretty easy to adjust, but I was very lazy and didn’t with the single strap.

Finally got the fantastic news that my Ghost bag eventually shipped today. Hopefully it’ll be here early next week

Hey @Northern Monkey, I’m pretty sure that you mentioned it previously but I might have missed it: Which bag did you go for by any chance? I’m positive that you won’t be disappointed no matter what!

Moved all (most) of the things from my current bag to the Ghost bag today in preparation for my round tomorrow.

1.  Not sure I like the putter in the top hole;  may still rearrange my bag to have it at the bottom even thought it isn't the putter well.

2.  I always zip the rain hood when traveling;  just to keep the clubs from sliding around when I turn in the car.   It zips closed but I had to turn some of the clubs inward.  IMO, it is a bit narrow and could be a little wider at the top.

3.  Most of my stuff fit into the bag.  I did have to remove a few things that I don't typically use.   Ideally I would like some additional pockets since everything had to be put in the 2 larger side pockets.   essentially it just feels crammed into the bag unlike with my prior bag and I think a couple more smaller pockets would go a long way or make the valuable pockets a little bigger.   When I get to the course,  I believe I am going to have to dig through the bag to get the things I need.

4.  because of 3 there isn't room to store the rain hood.  Fortunately I just fold it down when I play so it isn't an issue for me but if you just want to carry the rain hood in case it does rain, it will take up a fair amount of room.

5.  Ball pocket is large.   For those that carry 3 or 4 sleeves (like people are saying in the how many balls do you carry thread) you can probably fit some other items in the ball pocket.  I put 43 balls into that pocket and still have room for a few more 🙂

All great points @cnosil and I would like to add some additional information related to your number 2.

Whenever I use the rain cover, even on my Sun Mountain C130, which has a 10.5" diameter top, I still need to "turn-in" some heads to get them in place with the cover over them.

Seems to be more about the fitting of the cover itself, and if it was larger the fit or seam it makes when securing it to the bag may not be as weatherproof?

Just my thoughts.

I did wonder why GG (and similar styled bags) didn't add at least 1 left or right pocket to the side panels.

Perhaps even a velcro based or even a magnetic based removable pocket would work (if GhostGolf is following,  future idea right here) you can also have an option for a brand or personalized patch to cover it when not using it.

Makes sense and you are correct,  even with my old cover I had to turn in the wedges but didn't have to turn in my driver.    What Ghost provides works,  just a little tighter than I prefer based on previous experiences.

Nice update @cnosil!

Rain hood is a little disappointing…last time I played, it was a 5% chance of rain, guess what, it rained.  It was nice to have the rain hood since the carts didn’t have cover for the clubs.  I keep the rain hood tucked into the pocket (used as the hip pad when not using) on the Ping Hoofer.

Looking forward to any info o. How these bags do on riding carts. I ride 95%  of my rounds. Interest to read and see pictures of how they hold up, especially any with the protection strap added.

I’ve used mine once on a riding cart and it works great. The strap from GG is a must unless you have plans for something similar like a seatbelt strap cover. I like the neoprene fabric as it should be very friendly to bag fabric yet highly durable itself.

If GG is following, my suggestion would be to have an upgrade option to allow you choose a left or right side carry and add a full length pocket on the other side. Allowing for the bag to be carried from both sides is a great idea but I’d be apt to pay an upgrade price to add a large side pocket.

If GG is following, my suggestion would be to have an upgrade option to allow you choose a left or right side carry and add a full length pocket on the other side. Allowing for the bag to be carried from both sides is a great idea but I’d be apt to pay an upgrade price to add a large side pocket.

Is that because there isn’t enough storage room on the bag? If so I’d be interested to hear what you are carrying, and what else you would carry if you could

I think it goes back to bulking all your stuff in a few pockets, then spending time digging for them.

For myself, I think I’m fine with the pockets as they are but I would prefer, if I had the option, of having a full length pocket to store my extra layers. Spring and fall golf usually means two or three tops that I’ll shed as I play. Having that extra storage would be nice. Can’t say for certain if I need it and since I’m not a tester, just someone lucky enough to take advantage of the MGS discount last month, I’ll know for sure by the end of this golf season and will report back then.

Makes sense and you are correct,  even with my old cover I had to turn in the wedges but didn't have to turn in my driver.    What Ghost provides works,  just a little tighter than I prefer based on previous experiences.

I had the same experience when I zipped mine up. I believe I mentioned that in an earlier post. My driver cover is large though so thought that could be my issue, but doesn’t sound like it is. I do kinda like it though because it seems the clubs from rattling so much when traveling.

I also agree with the ball pocket being big, I typically don’t keep much in the, and more on the side pockets. I still wish for a full size garment pocket on one side but I do get why they didn’t do that. I also say this with being able to get all my stuff in my bag except the rain hood

There is a lot of storage, but I didn’t have enough room for the rain hood. I typically keep 1 box of balls, knee and ankle brace, bag of tees, my score book, and my Garmin R10 (since there isn’t room on the clip) in one pocket. In the other I keep two  golf towels(I sweat an awful lot and need multiple per round), extra gloves, a travel first aid kit, and sun screen. I could probably make room also by getting rid of some stuff and be able to make room for the rain hood.

Thanks for that. With this being the UK I always have my waterproofs in the bag do you think there will be room for them.

I think it depends what all you keep. The pockets themselves should be big enough as long as nothing else is in there

Looking forward to any info o. How these bags do on riding carts. I ride 95%  of my rounds. Interest to read and see pictures of how they hold up, especially any with the protection strap added.

I have only rode one round with it so far. The bag did good but there were somethings that I want to keep my eye on during future rounds. The biggest thing was the amount of times I had to re adjust the bag, but this also could have been for a couple of reasons. So going forward I will be trying to pin point what it was.  Over all the bag did perform well on the cart outside of that main concern.

Got the bag out for the first time today.  Was riding the cart and I did use the neoprene strap just as added protection.

@Samuel09152, have to agree with you.  Actually getting out with bag the slimmer rain hood was nice.   It did seem to keep the clubs from rattling/banging and it is probably something I will look for in the future

On the riding cart there were no issues.  The bag held securely with no require adjustments.   The legs didn't seem to be an issue and honestly seemed to help keep the bag in a solid position and kept it from turning.   I may need to tweak the club organization; it was difficult getting used to the putter being at the top of the bag.   The bigger pockets holding all the things I carry was fine but I'd still like a couple of more small pockets to hold some of the smaller items.

Haven't been able to bring the Ronin out on the course since my impromptu Thursday night round last week. I was in the moving boxes all weekend and it has been raining non-stop since Sunday night.

The good news if that I have a tee-time booked for Friday at a nicely rated course that I've been trying to visit for the last 2 years but never got to it as it's quite far away from my place.

In the mean time, here's a picture of my previous bag (Ogio Fuse 14 cart bag) along Ghost Golf's Anyday Ronin-14 stand bag. I stayed in a very similar color palette as you can see😅. I already officially parted ways with my former bag. So you already know that my final review will say: "I decided to keep the Ronin... well... in the bag!"😆

While I was happy with my Ogio, even the photos show that the finish/PU leather and accents on the Ronin are a step above that of the Ogio. For a premium bag at this price point, you'd be right expecting nothing less. Carrying the bag even only once last week was enough for me to know that I would keep this bag for sure.

Tonight was league night and the ghost bag was used on a push cart.    Forgot to take pictures 😞

The bag worked well on the push cart and didn't bounce or move around at all.   Even got a few comments on how great the bag looked from my playing partners.   The Ghost bag continues to impress.

Played in a tourney this past weekend, the Ghost bag was a highlight of conversation. Never did I realize how much golfers pay attention to other people’s golf bags. I had maybe 5-6 different guys come up and ask about the bag. They kept saying “it feels so soft”, lol. Tons of questions ensued;

“is it heavy”? Are the straps comfortable? How much was it? Do the legs deploy easily?”

I suggested they find the review on MGS and follow along, lol. The cart strap cover was a hit as well. My playing partners on the second day ordered seat belts strap covers on Amazon in the middle of the tournament.

I’ve played four rounds with mine so far and every time I’ve had some ask about My Golf Spy because of the VCT tag and my pocket cover.
