Have you taken the loft/lie measurements for both the P7MC's and the Toura's to see how they compare? It's possible one might be more upright/flat at default specs than the other. I've found in my analysis/paralysis looking at new clubs that not all factory default lie angles are the same. It's possible this might be part of why you're seeing what you are. Just something to check.

Started at pg 5 and I'm now caught up on where everyone's at! It was a great read and great work to all testers! Love the various approaches everyone took and the willingness to try things! Awesome stuff!

I turned the ferrules tonight...and I guess having finally played with them on a real course instead of a simulator has led to an amazing revelation...they REALLY are pure raw irons!!!

Thanks! It's been fun, and if I get to the point where they play as good as they look, I might be a + handicap!

Seriously though, I am confident that they will be at least as good as the 2020 P7MC irons I've been playing for a couple of months, and if they are and they look this good, well, it's a no-brainer which set is staying in the bag, right?

I decided to take a slightly radical approach to try and keep up with the amazing builds by @azstu324 and @JRDuck40! A little overnight storage in a plastic bag with a damp rag ought to nicely accelerate the raw patina process!

Great demo for turning the ferrules. Pretty close to how I do it. I'm jealous that you actually get to play yours. Mine won't get to see the course untill next week being that I'm back to work Wednesday.

Thank you, sir. It was only one frustratingly slow 18 holes, 8 of which were spent on a conference call for work, but that's kind of how life goes sometimes, right? My boss had agreed to some flex time use for the afternoon, and his boss asked for a meeting on a project I was working on the next day after I'd made plans to play a round with my son. Thankfully, it was a Teams meeting, and I am pretty used to playing with headphones in! Between the meeting, the first time I was playing new irons on the course (without having them adjusted yet, of course), and the fact that I'd last played in the 2nd week of April, well....let's just say I quit keeping score early and dedicated that to practicing lots of shots with the Toura irons. My driver was on point though for a change...which is typical...a round where I don't really need it to be good and the driver is coming through with bombs!

Here are a few shots of what the raw irons look like after the anti-rust coating in which they are shipped is gone and one stores them in high humidity (Ziploc bags with wet paper towels) overnight...

Neat video on the turning of the ferrules using micro-fiber cloth and Acetone. Love the photos of the iron heads in their pristine, new shape. Also the rusting factor - looks like you're well on the way to achieving that super neat patina that says "I'm a gamer"....

Ladies and gentlemen, I give you WHITE SHAFTS!

Was not as easy as advertised per the website, but we have white shafts. I am super swamped this week with work / other commitments, but will HOPEFULLY have heads and ferrules installed at some point this weekend. We have quite a filled 'early-summer' schedule. Soccer game, dance recital (x2)... And that's just Saturday. I'll be traveling for work W-F so no work getting done but was able to at least get this portion DONE.

@ctg44 nicely done with the patina look! That is going to fill in nicely. Just a heads up though. Make sure to tape / cover the shafts when doing this. I tried this technique and the shafts ended up getting a little patina'd as well. A little tape will cover them and keep them from damage.

Onward.

@JRDuck40 That's a good point, and a very good warning. I probably won't do any further "accelerating" going forward because the raw Toura CB iron heads seem to REALLY take to the humidity quickly and shouldn't need much help.
