I've been intrigued by the brand and am about an hour away from their physical location and been kicking around the idea of driving down there for a fitting.

Absolutely go! I wish I was close enough to go. Even if you don't buy anything while you're there, they're really great at the fittings and they're all full of fantastic information. It's absolutely worth going. I may make a pilgrimage up there on a long weekend (12 hr drive or so).

@GolfSpy_KFT and I are just over 2 hours away from Sycamore. We’ve talked about taking a drive down and checking things out.

Question for the testers.

@J7Hawkins is reporting a fade-bias to his 7 wood.

Is this what everyone is experiencing? If there a bias to any direction in anyone's testing?

In my testing I did notice a fade-bias with the original weight configuration (2g near the clubface and 9 g near the back of the club). I switched mine around so I had 10g near the club face and 2g near the back and I didn't seem to notice any fade-bias

Huge shoutout to @Shrek74 for letting me borrow a launch monitor to do some testing with. So far I’ve done 2 sessions comparing my 4 hybrid and the Pro V2 7 wood. Here’s what the data has to say:

This weekend I’m going to try to get out to the range and hit some balls with the launch monitor to see what those numbers look like. I’m also going to play around with the weights in the club to see if that impacts the data.

Love the stats! I'm going to try and make mine more presentable next time.

Its worth the trip. I've been to the 70 a few times and fitted by Kevin. Cool little place and they have drinks if you want and nice little putting green and couple Golden tee games. The town is quant and has at least really nice little bars with good a couple blocks away. It's probably a good thing I don't live closer.

Testers, curious how you all arrived at your shaft selections. I see the stock selections are the HZRDOUS red/blue/black in the 60/70g options.  Was it largely based on what you had in the clubs you were looking to replace? Did any of you speak with Sub70? I've been intrigued by the brand and am about an hour away from their physical location and been kicking around the idea of driving down there for a fitting.

Only an hr, what are you waiting for?? It takes me an HR to get to the airport, fly for 4 hrs into Chicago and then drive an hr to The 70. Then 40 minutes to my daughters place in Aurora. Get over there.

I have noticed some fading with my 7 wood. I don’t know if that can be attributed to the club or just my natural shot shape as a former baseball player. I don’t feel like the fade (slice) is any worse while using the club.

If I can get out to the range this weekend, I’m going to try to get some visual data for shot groupings using the launch monitor. I’ve also thought about finding a full simulator nearby to try to get more ball flight data.

For me, I chase the HZRDUS Blue because I’ve hit it in woods before and I wanted a mid spin model. A fitting is always best, but I feel like I got something that fits me well.

I'm seeing the same. I have a natural fade bias but when I go after it,  it really shows. Ive noticed my ball position plays a larger factor in the fade. When I'm able to focus my swing inside out I get a fairly straight flight. I'm just not able to repeat that very consistently yet.

I did some research before I made my selection of the blue smoke in 70g. I like to think I have a moderate swing tempo,  though I'm starting to get a faster tempo, and the blue smoke was the only one suggested for moderate. I chose the 70g due to suggestions of having your woods shafts slightly heavier than your driver and mine is 60-65g. I didn't chat with anyone from Sub70 though. I'd definitely go check out their place if I was only an hour away. I hope this helps

Curious for those who are using them both off a tee and fairways, much different in height? Would you consider it that much easier off the tee?

Weather ended up being great yesterday, so I went out to the range yesterday to hit some balls with my launch monitor. After warming up, I hit 10 balls each with my 4 hybrid and Sub 70 Pro V2 7 wood off the deck (one shot with the 4h didn't register, but I didn't notice until later). After that, I hit 12 balls each off a tee.

Curious for those who are using them both off a tee and fairways, much different in height? Would you consider it that much easier off the tee?

Thanks to @JJBack for the data from his range session we can actually see the difference tangibly, I do think I am seeing the same results. I don't think I would say it is "easier: off the tee, but it definitely is launching higher off the tee than off the deck.

I also hav been playing with different weight configurations and have found that the closer to the same weight you use in the front and back, the easier it is to draw the club. I have settled with a 4g weight in the front and a 8g weight in the back that seems to have maximized forgiveness while giving me a bit less of that "fade-bias" feel.

Those numbers off the tee with the 7 wood...WOW!

One of the big things I notice is that my swing speed was ~3 mph slower hitting the 7 wood off the deck compared to all the other ones, so I’m definitely missing out on some yardage there.

Have you found a weight setup that's more of a dead straight, no draw, no fade ball flight on good strikes? Even F/B weights you say are more draw-biased settings and more weight in the rear is more of a higher forgiveness more fade-biased approach. Any thought on a dead straight weight config?

Weather ended up being great yesterday, so I went out to the range yesterday to hit some balls with my launch monitor. After warming up, I hit 10 balls each with my 4 hybrid and Sub 70 Pro V2 7 wood off the deck (one shot with the 4h didn't register, but I didn't notice until later). After that, I hit 12 balls each off a tee.

I didn't average the numbers out myself, but it looks like the average Apex for the Sub70 7W is much higher than your 4hy. Is that what you're finding on the course also?

Was finally able to take this club out on the course on 8/3/24. Boy it was hot that day. I tried to get as much stats as I could on this day and take pictures with it. I also was a little off today so they could be skewed. Sorry if I missed a few, but playing golf I just like to be in the moment and don’t usually carry my phone.

Red Hawke is a pretty hilly course and has a lot of dog logs. There is a video of the course if you want to see what I was playing on and get a better idea of the holes I was hitting off of.

Hole #1 – Off Rough ~ 200 Yards
I played this shot which was in the rough a little bit. Being that I am considering maybe switching out my 4 Hybrid I thought it pertinent to try it out here.

Sound
This is for the people who requested the sound. I'll let you be the judge.

All in all, I really enjoyed playing with this club. While I don’t think I would switch our my 4 Hybrid for when I’m in the rough, I do think I will switch it out with my current 3 wood purely because I like to look and feel more even though my original 3 wood does get a little more distance. I'm going to attempt to get in another TopGolf sessions for more stats.

Golfing is to focus yet not focus on your shot at the same time.
