Mizuno JPX 2024

Mizuno USA posted a teaser this am regarding the next edition of the JPX line.  The JPX 900’s were one of the best irons they’ve ever made IMO.

 It’ll be interesting to see where these fall in their lineup. The reason being, the 223 from 4 years ago were a mesh between JPX and MP technology.

The JPX line has been stellar.  With 5 models they are able to fit just about any golfer.  And the HL model has tapped into a market that was previously ignored by just about every OEM.

My beloved W/S D200 are going to need to be replaced sooner rather than later. I'm going to be keeping an eye on upcoming releases to see what might work for me. Based on how well the Mizuno long game clubs have been working for me, I'm definitely going to be paying a lot more attention to their irons.

I am still gaming the JPX 900 Forged 7 - pw.   They feel tremendous and have just enough forgiveness to them.  A little more forgiving G410 5 & 6 iron have crept into the bag in the last year help me to gain a bit of altitude.  I might "need" to try these when available.

Oh @bens197, you know how to make a guy engage with a thread. I love my 921 HMPs but admittedly I am tempted to make a change in 2025. The (hopeful) 925 Forged, as well at 245 are definitely on the short list of contenders.

The 900’s were my personal favorite based on looks.  Always thought they were legitimately the best set they’ve made…and Tour proven with Majors.

Admittedly, I agree. The brushed finish on them with the blue accent on the numbers in the tour, speaks more now to the 243 in styling, but man, what a winner of a look.

You think? There are many others with HL models and some with clubs that may not say HL but target the same type of golfer.

It's always exciting when Mizuno launches new JPX irons. They're beautiful and feel like nothing else I've ever hit.

My favorite looking irons were either the 900 or 919 Tour models.

I mean, bias on the 921 considering they're in the bag, but the 900 tours were impossible lookers and great performers. Also let's not forget the JPX EZ's with their orange accents. Arguably the most un-Mizuno irons ever, but they were great as well, sold a good amount of them at Dick's when I worked there, great price too.

The irons are currently on the Mizuno website for informational deep dive, but I'm holding my tongue for now

I’m always going to love the 900 Tour. The simplicity and performance were perfect. It felt like a Mizuno and kept the cosmetics clean and simple. 
 

A little underwhelmed seeing the release promo this AM. Which is good. I have no intention of changing irons.

I really wanted to love them. But... They don't truly look like "Jpx" irons to me. I'd be interested in the Tour/Forged lines if they make it to market. 

Of course, if I hit them - that could be a different story all together lol

After owning the 919 Forged and seeing the progression from them.... These 925's leave something to be desired looks wise sadly. I prefer a sleek no nonsense look tho... We shall see how they perform, I was not the happiest with the 919's honestly and the JPX Hot Metal line up just hasn't performed for me.

Now when the 243's & 245's were GREAT but different category.

Look like typical Mizuno irons to me.  Not traditionally a Mizuno fan but will see after I hit them.

Ok, since people are talking them now, properly whelmed. For someone who's looking at new irons in 2025 I'm a bit meh on every release so far I've seen. Maybe 925 forged will bring me in, but now we await Cobra and Srixon 2025 to see if there's anything there... or if we're going to need to go off the reservation in a big big way

I don’t love the look of the 925s which is a bummer, as the Pro would have been squarely in my sights for next year as a potential club. Maybe some in hand photos as reviews come along will change my mind, but they look a bit chunky from what I’ve seen so far.

I will be completely honest that I am not really a big fan. Not entirely sure why, but definitely are not grabbing my attention like I had hoped they would.

I seem to be in the minority in that I like the look of them.  Of course, I won't be able to form a final opinion until I see them in the metal.

I am very underwhelmed. This is probably the first Mizuno iron release that I haven't liked in a long time. That is just plainly aesthetically speaking. I am sure when I hit them it will be different. I have scheduled an iron fitting for middle of September in hopes they have all of the new heads.

Not really what I would expect from a Mizuno iron.  The looks are underwhelming but probably preform pretty well.

I kind of like the look of them but think they kind of missed the mark on the badging. They are giving off TaylorMade SIM 2 vibes to me. I'm sure they'll perform but it's definitely not a look I would expect from Mizuno.

This is very much where I settled at. Granted they may not be irons directly for my game but still.

Reading the article on the main site, Tony Covey called the ridge along the back a "sound bar", but I'm not sure if that's the official term used by Mizuno. I'll have to watch some videos on them to find out. I know CC/TXG out one out today talking to Chris Voshall. 

I'll be curious how the other clubs in the JPX line look.

Sound bar?  Does it have Bluetooth?

Looks like the Mizuno term is:  Acoustic Sound Ribs.
