      3 Wood Versus 5 Wood

      I swapped it out,  But grip down before you give up on the 3w if you need the distance (for longer courses) For me 5 wood and 7 wood interchange depending on the length of the course.  I'm finding 7w used more lately, even have a 9 wood now to reduce roll-out when going for a green. I think I was only using 3 wood once or twice a round at best, some times not at all.

      There's a quote from 'Ferris Bueller,' which goes, 'How can I possibly be expected to handle school on a day like this?'  And today was one of those days! 80 and sunny in the Seattle area, so I ditched the day job to go play at the local muni - par 71 (67.1 / 112).  Ball striking is coming along, thanks in part to a massive influx of confidence in the Driver with the new Callaway AI Smoke Max (9*).  Went 41-39 with 34 putts on greens that were punched days ago. Went 9/18 on GIR, with misses really close.  Getting excited for what's to come!

      Stopped in the golf shop this afternoon for  something unrelated, but while I was there I was chatting with my guy Todd about how things were progressing with the QI-10, which led to a discussion about the G430 10k max, which led to me hitting some balls on the trackman. I had initially tried it back in January and found it a bit spinny for my tastes, but I was curious if the spin was swing related or club related or both.    With a better swing these days, I found the G430 10K max was a little slower club speed wise but the results were mostly straight or a slight draw with an average spin of 2900 rpm. I should have stopped there. But i decided to hit some balls with the QI-10 for comparison sake. It started off well, with ball speeds in the mid 150’s and the ball going where I wanted it to, I was becoming satisfied that, while the 10k max is nice, for me the QI-10 produces similar results. And then I heard an all too familiar sound on my last swing. I looked at the head and… Yep. Another cracked head. In more or less the same spot as the LS that cracked on me. Fortunately, Todd arranged another replacement that is supposed to arrive at the shop no later than 5-24, so I should have it for the Kingsmill outing. The wild thing to me, is both swings are hat produced cracked heads were center strikes, so I am completely baffled as to why this keeps happening.

      I didn't get a chance to go practice today, I was stuck in traffic for over an hour and when I got home the wife and sister-in-law were out weeding one of the flower beds. I decided it would only be proper and safe to get out in the yard and mow. I didn't want the "she"riff putting me in golf prison.  There's still more to do, we have other flower beds that need tending and I need to do the trimming. I have to put new string in it and I wasn't feeling it this evening.  @GolfSpy_KFTI hope the acupuncture works for your shoulder and it's nothing major.  @RichL85 in sorry to hear about your FIL, he'll be in our thoughts and prayers.  @IndyBonzo I'm glad you had a great trip!
