James "Bubba" Stewart's Golf Helmet

You know you came here looking for a helmet to wear when golfing.

 

Admit it.

 

That's not quite what's going on here. Instead we have a Supercross rider James Stewart who has been bitten by the golf bug while preparing for his return at the 2nd annual Red Bull Straight Rhythm on October 10th. Could this be another Ricky story? Golf's addictive nature manifests itself in many, many ways. 

 

Take for example motocross icon James “Bubba” Stewart who actually had a helmet designed to look like a Titleist golf ball, which he wore during a 2014 Supercross event. 

 

That's right, a "golf ball motorcycle helmet.” right down to the dimples and the unmistakable Titleist logo script. 

 

As is the case with so many competitive athletes who discover the game, Stewart's competitive fire was ignited the first time he experienced the fickle nature of the game…that unmistakable “pursuit” that occurs between the euphoria of a sublime approach shot, and the pain of a violent hook out of bounds. Every golfer falls pretty to this bi-polar nature of the great game. It's what keeps us coming back for more…and more. 

 

Speaking of coming back for more…Stewart is now playing up to four to five rounds per week, with an index that's dropped rapidly into the single digits. It also helps that he's got friends in high golf places from the South Florida region where he lives, such as another “Bubba” who has two green jackets in his closet or motocross-racer-turned PGA Tour pro Rickie Fowler. Stewart's been lucky enough to get to play with, and learn a couple things from the likes of these tour pros-turned-friends.
