  1. Funny, but not funny on these times we live in, the wife and I met on Oct 13th, a Friday the 13th. We got married on Oct 12th. We both forgot those dates this year. So, I forgot our anniversaries, but so did she. At least I am not in trouble.

Ya know.....if you build a detached garage, build it far enough away from the house you can get all kinds of things stored out there that don't get noticed for quite a while!!!

    How'd you play?

Oh, what an up and down day! Mixed bag of junk, mainly. Had 4 double bogeys, one of which was a 4 putt on a par 3. Another 3 putt on a different hole. Putting stroke wasn't bad, but I had issues with burning the edge and putting too far beyond the hole. Mixed in 3 birdies. Limped in with an 81.

  7. Hey all for anyone that does not know me, name is Mark and I have the luxury of living up in the Northeast where I wish the golf season was year round, but here we are end of season. My game is decent. Have dropped my handicap this year almost a full point from 7.9 to 7.3. I added a 3W to my arsenal this year early in the season because I was not happy with the consistency of my driver and also wanted to give a new shaft a whirl. Also got a good deal. Well the driver really turned around this year and the offseason work payed off but the 3W came in handy a lot and figured I would do a quick unofficial for yall. Looks: If you are not a fan of the carbon fiber than buyer beware, but for me you cant beat the Taylormade look. I do enjoy a more classic look that a Titleist provides but damn does TM make a sleek looking club. I prefer the lighter carbon that the SIM provides here as well as the white line to give you some depth when looking down at address. Bottom is great and cleans up well from tee marks. Gives you a great visual for tee marks down the middle as well. I also like the plane face and markings. Ball marks show up well and wipe off easy. Also classic Taylormade alignment aid. Sound/Feel: As usual very subjective. Little clicky but sound isn't what does it for me but feel on the other hand very important. Compression is soft on this club, feels great every time and the ball really jumps off the face. On Course: Like I said in the beginning my original intention for this club was to be a more consistent ball off the tee, I go through ups/downs and I wanted this to be the club I could rely on to get out in the fairway without losing much distance. Also really wanted to get the HZRDUS Green shaft to see if it would be a good fit for me and potentially go in my driver (and yes perfect fit). Well the numbers speak for themselves. The 4 balls that were left out to the right came in the first 2 rounds I had the club so I think those are really going to be few and far between. This club has done exactly what I wanted and then some. Have not lost much distance from this to the driver. I can also bank on it being down the pipe or a little left so I set up for that. I attribute a lot of this consistency to the shaft. Its a perfect fit for me but the club head gives me confidence when I line up that I am going to get the ball out there and its going to be in a spot I wanted. My swing speed is also keeping up with my driver. 123 was my max on this bad boy but typically is around 113-116 similar to the driver. Overall: This club is my go to off the tee when driver is misbehaving. I did not use it as much as anticipated this year (27 shots total) just because my driver was on point, but was a great club to utilize when I was in a tight spot and the landing area was just a little too close to something for the driver. I think that the price point originally was very high but now that these are reasonable and affordable online that if you are in the market you really should look at these woods. Taylormade has done a fantastic design on this and love the carbon fiber, very modern look.

    How'd you play?

Played at Trosper with my boys today - was a beautiful day and really enjoyed it except for slow play. The issue wasn't actually slow play but rather a group that jumped in front of us at 10 rather than wait for the first tee. Consequently I waited on every single shot on the back nine which was extremely frustrating and I didn't handle that so well - I only missed two greens on the front and only hit 4 on the back. 69 FIR 6/12 GIR 11/18 Putts 28 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Ha! Last nine holes for the league today, crashed and burned!!! Last hole had a healthy crosswind into us from the left out of the SW, hit this in to out open face thing that went 100 yds offline, nearly wiped out a foursome on another fairway, yelled fore, should have yelled eight, had 170 to the green on my hole, had this funky downhill/ball above feet lie so much that I had to choke a 5 iron to the steel. Didn't execute that one so good as I chunked it really bad and it went about 20 yds. WInd now dead into my face, stomped over to ball pulled 7 iron and whacked it Happy Gilmore style, got it on front of edge of green about 50 ft. short of hole, did the smack and spit putt to about 3 ft. and they gave the bogey putt since that putt meant nothing to anybody, anywhere, even my mother would have let it go. 3 pars, 6 bogeys, nothing else, the sun has set on another year. I don't have a handicap but I am stuck at the "urinate" level, (sound it out). Wild tees shots, mediocre chipping/pitching, less than clutch putting. Those guys who score better than me hit the tee ball in the fairway, get the approach shot near or on, but get it up and in. They make the putts. It sounds simple, but it really is a huge leap. The body is failing, muscles ache, balance is bad, flexibility and strength need to be improved. The next season starts in six months. Anybody know a good golf-related fitness trainer in Metro Detroit?

  12. I was ready to put my Titleist TS2 driver back in my bag after analyzing my stats on Arccoss. I had lost 20 yards off the tee since putting the SpeedZone driver in play. But to the SpeedZone’s credit my accuracy has improved. I was fit into a Tensei blue 6.5 stiff shaft but received a Tensei blue 6.5 regular flex shaft for the competition and it performed well but the loss of yardage really bothered me. I had been following the Motor X shaft review thread and really was impressed with the results or the testers. So I wanted to try a Motor X shaft on the SpeedZone driver I found what I feel would be the appropriate stiff Motor X shaft for my 98 mph swing speed and Googled that shaft... bingo! I found one with the SpeedZone tip and two days later when the bidding was done it was headed my way! The color scheme goes perfectly with the Cobra [emoji216] colors. But how did it play last week for the first time? I gained my 20 yards back and my confidence in my driver is heading in the right direction! Just look at the numbers. After one round average drive was 245 yards vs 227 with the Tensei Regular flex shaft. The SpeedZone driver is staying in the bag a little longer Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy

    How'd you play?

Whew!!!!! I drained a 15 foot par putt on the par 5 18th, which enabled me to make the cut today ON THE NUMBER. It got me into a 3 way tie for 8th, which took up the last of the 10 spots in the Net division. This means I advance with the top 10 gross players to next week when we reset and shoot it out for the Gross and Net titles. That closing hole is a beast, tight fairway for your drive OB on the right, red stakes left. You then have to carry a big wetland area on your second, and on your third, water surrounds the green on the left side of and behind the green. We call it the "hole where good rounds go to die" but it saved me today! Two of the guys in my foursome weren't as fortunate. They both got knocked out with a 7&8 respectively, and I snuck in the back door. I didn't make a putt all day until that final hole, and really didn't play well, but I grinded on every shot, even when I thought I was out of it late on the back nine. Once again I learned in tournament comps, every stroke matters. Keep plugging away, you never know... after two rounds of golf, holing one final 15 foot putt was the difference. BTW I also got a nice little bonus, winning the CTP which gets me a free round of golf!

It's as low-threat as it can get, but I'm still going to be nervous...with all this quarantine BS I won't have hit a ball in 3 weeks, I hope I can hold up my end!

Foggy & Humid but no cart restrictions. Shot 43 w a 1st hole horrible dbl bogy. Dropped the Ping G410 driver and used backup CobraF8. Good move the F8 worked very well and same distance as G410 but only 1 wayward drive but stayed in bounds, barely. At least the I stayed up with the guy w the new Mavrik driver he’s been getting on my nerves. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy

When we moved to FL (cart friendly) and newly retired I had a idea of picking up a used cart sticking it in the garage and doing similar to what you did. My club is tearing down a cart shed and replacing it. I talked to the workers today and asked if I could take the lock off my shed door because it had sentimental value. They looked at me like I was crazy. Perhaps I am. My father moved his cart into the shed in 1968. I took it over when he passed years ago. It's had the same lock on it all that time. Who knew Masterlocks would last over 50 years with just a little oil and WD-40.

My wife doesn't like to cook, but she's OK at it. When we bought our house last December, during the house tour she never even looked at the kitchen!! We tend to share cooking duties. The man puts the meat on the grill. Actually, there are a few other "usuals" that I do as well.

Negative sorry I do however cook large portions even though I'm single lol. I cook it for the firehouse and the guys absolutely love the hell out of it. It's pretty easy I taught myself how to do this and I season it as I go. I put brown sugar in it because it always reminded my mom of my grandmother's recipe and now I like it too much to change. I sweat onions in extra virgin olive oil with crush red pepper flakes, add tomato paste and garlic once translucent, then I add diced(preferably whole tomatoes) cook them down until smooth then I add a little tomato puree because it takes a long time for that step and it's convenient to increase my amount. This time I browned Italian sausage and put it in the sauce knowing I was putting it over cheese tortellini. I let it go for only 5 hours today normally it's a 8 to 10 hour simmer for me. I'm not Italian but I do like cooking Italian food.

I'm hesitant to say it, but I may have figured out my timing issues off the tee, but the damage had already been done tonight. Besides that, Arccos stats show the best SG approach I've had since I've had the sensors. Putting was kind of lame, but the greens were punched this week, so I'm not bothered by it too much, except I had two 10 to 15-ish foot birdie putts that were tracking nicely only to wobble to the side in the last few feet. I don't have a ton of confidence in a 5i right now, but I've learned that choking down about an inch on my 4h gives me that distance comfortably and I had two great shots doing that tonight, so that sort of addresses that gap in my bag, but may need to find a permanent solution. I ended up +9 with another 3 penalties (all off the tee, of course) :barf: but won a skin with a par on the hardest hole on this 9. That makes three weeks in a row! Yes, I'm shocked too.

I always try a few new ones when at the sushi bar if I do takeout I order the same thing because it never tastes the same by the time I get home as at the bar.

  44. This is one of my frustrations with the Arccos platform. I don't understand why that distance off the tee statistic can't be smarter and only count drivers, or give an option to show distance off the tee with different clubs. My chart is much the same - I hit driver on 7 of 15 non-par 3s at my home course. To do so on several of the holes provides zero benefit if your driver dispersion is greater than 30 yards (of which, mine is much wider...). I know you didn't quite make the handicap progress you were wanting, but I think you're still trending in the right direction and you know what areas you need to improve upon.
