Callaway high top hat and chrome x trivulius

Stephan Schobel. Love to product test new products and then usually buy them. I play between 50 - 60 rounds a golf a year. I love golf even the good and the bad. I always suggest products to my friends. I am active 65 year old guy who loves sports and other activities like walking, hiking and bicycling. My wife loves golf too. I usually golf with the same guys and we always walk unless the courses are to steep.

Probably the wrong forum, but I am looking at back surgery for a PARS defect in my back that is impacting my golf and other parts of my life, basically the disk is sliding out and and hitting the Sciatica nerves, getting cortisone shots in August and have a surgical consult in September, how long was your recovery for the back surgery?

I bought this 60* off Amazon for $50. I've got a 54* Vokey but I didn't feel like spending that kind of money for a club I'll use maybe 4 times a round. But I did need it to fill a gap in my set so I sidelined the Ping 7 wood and put this in the rotation. 🙂

Depending on the type of back surgery there are probably many different recovery timetables, but when I had a bi-lateral discectomy a few years ago I was moving around within a few days, light expertise within a few weeks, and golfing after 3 months.

I recently purchased set of Takomo 101 iron heads, putting KBS PGI 70 shafts in them at 1" over length.  The combination seems to be really working.  At almost 66 years old I can hit  8 iron 145-148 yds which is not much shorter than I hit it 40 years ago.

A few weeks ago I purchased a 56° and a 60° Callaway jaws, black wedge set. I purchased them in a “W“ grind because I play a lot in Florida where the turf can go from soggy to hard pan in a matter of days. The “W“ grind makes it a little easier to get through the ball without the leading edge digging in the ground. I really enjoy these wedges both around the green and from 95 yards and in to the target. They are extremely accurate and have a great feel to them.

Looking at a golf trip to Ireland next June so if I could get it done in Nov/Dec, I could be recovered, but they have mentioned back fusion and that may take longer, not sure. They didn't say much after the MRI, but when they saw the additional xrays, that was when they mentioned surgical consult. I just hope the cortisone shots at least releive some of the symptoms.

They should have you in for the shots sooner, no excuse to leave you hurting for that long when its a non narcotic pain relief. If this is the shots done in hospital by radiologist I have had them and its feast or famine, some Drs have a knack for getting it in just the right spot and some dont, my suggestion is to make sure to write down the Drs name who does it and then you know to either request them again or you know to request a different one. Also ask your primary care doctor or whoever for Diclofenac Sodium topical solution which is generic Pennsaid to rub on the area to keep inflamation down, the same stuff is available oral as Diclofenac generic for Voltaren and its the best anti inflammatory I have ever used and I have tried a bunch of them. Diclofenac is non narcotic so unless you have some medical condition which would prevent you from taking it most any doctor should be happy your asking for that instead of narcotics, especially the cream.

Bought a Titleist fairway adapter.   @EasyPutterhad some extra club building things that he brought it the MGS outing and I grabbed an old Proforce 65 gold shaft.  Going to put it in my 3 wood but cut to 4 wood length.  I already play the club at 16.5* loft so I am hoping for a little more consistency.  Current shaft is a 70g Smoke x-stiff and this is a 65g stiff.   I know there is a a head to head match between flex but tend to play lighter shafts so dropping a few grams might be beneficial. The shaft was also pured so I am expecting even more than I normally would 😂

Just picked up a 2022 Callaway Epic SuperHybrid. Traded in my 2014 Callaway BB Alpha 815 Hybrid and 2015 Callaway BB Driver. Didn't get much for them but I guess something is better than nothing. I'm afraid to see what they will be charging to sell them since they were both in excellent condition.

Also just regripped my Odyssey DoubleWide TripleTrack putter with a SuperStroke WristLock grip.

So looking forward to get out on a course, hopefully this weekend, to add these two to my bag!

I picked up the Ping iCrossover -3- this weekend.   Pressed it into service immediately and a few strikes at the range and could not be happier with it so far.  It proved to me I am not a hybrid guy and I suspect I'm not the only one.  Very small sample size but I think almost every shot has been effortlessly well over 220 yards and as straight as an arrow (aside from 3 or 4 miss-hits).  I have never been able to summon and command any "easy to hit" hybrid like that.  I haven't put the MCC+4 grip on it yet and I admit I'm almost afraid to do it.

While reading the introductions for the sugar ball test, I noticed the following post:IMG_0902.png.486241eb5bb248a9a64743e2903a1df0.png

So armed with code for 15% off, I went to Sugar’s website and grabbed the cube of Sugar pure balls. The 15% off basically negates the shipping costs, but they did throw in a hat, so I guess I’ll see what all the fuss is about. 😁

Thanks for the information, I have Kaiser and they are so far behind on getting people in for treatment in the spinal center. Getting an MRI, no problem 2 days after the referral, X-RAYS, no problem, walk in and get them done. See a specialist, it will be 2 months before we can get the shots, UGH!, Another month before the surgical consult so I am at best guessing Nov/Dec for surgery if recommended.

After missing out on the chance to test Red Rooster golf gloves, I purchase the Red Rooster "The Boilermaker" men's golf glove.  Most golf gloves I wear are large (L).  However, using Red Rooster's sizing chart I selected their medium-large (ML) left hand glove.  The fit is perfect and it has worked wonderfully and I look forward to doing my own testing of the glove.

It was suggested I have back fusion surgery 30 years ago but I said NO THANKS, my back was so bad at one point I couldn't get out of bed and just moving my hands or head was so painful I screamed so I've done a lot of back strength training  and not gotten fat and I've made 72 ok. Now I have Note reminders in my iphone calendar otherwise I forget 😁 I don't want to slip back 😰

I noticed a Cleveland 58* in the BST recently and was lucky to be the first to respond.  So i have a replacement for the "groove challenged" 90's era Cleveland 588 coming soon.

I am interested to see the difference in spin and rollout between the two.  I have had more than a few shots roll out way past the flag and want to see if its me or the wedge.  The other wedges seem to sit quicker.

I just picked up a Callway B21 driver, 9 degree, but had to set it +2 in order to get the flight I was looking for.  I really like the feel and sound of this driver.  I have read that sound makes up a great deal of what a person "feels" with a club.  Not sure, but I will say that the muted thud/thwack sound of the head, compared to my Titleist TS1, is much more satisfiying so me.  Makes want to hit it rather than the Titleist.
