So, all you lawyers out there... If I had a great idea that resulted in a patent, does that mean that Wilson owns the patent since I am an Advisory staff?

Yup. Guarantee you would have to sign it over to them. It's probably written into the rules for submitting a design. It becomes their's.

Where's X? He's got some familiarity with this I believe

In The Bag
Driver: TaylorMade M2 (2017) w/ Project X T1100 HZRDUS Handcrafted 65x
Strong 3 wood: Taylormade M1 15* w/ ProjectX T1100 HZRDUS handcrafted 75x
3 Hybrid: Adams PRO 18* w/ KBS Tour Hybrid S flex tipped 1/2"
4 Hybrid: Adams PRO 20* (bent to 21*) w/ KBS Tour Hybrid S flex tipped 1/2"
4-AW: TaylorMade P770 w/ Dynamic Gold Tour Issue Black Onyx S400

SW: 56* Scratch Tour Dept(CC grooves) w/ Dynamic Gold Spinner
LW: 60* Scratch Tour Department (CC grooves) w/ Dynamic Gold Spinner
XW: 64* Cally XForged Vintage w/ DG X100 8 iron tiger stepped
Putter: Nike Method Prototype 006 at 34"

Have a ton of back-ups in all categories, but there are always 14 clubs in the bag that differ depending on the course and set-up. Bomb and gouge. Yes, I'm a club gigolo.

I actually spoke to them about us all coming in with a design.  There were some legal issues that kept us from doing it.  But would have been cool to have a MyGolfSpy created driver that was launched by Wilson.

Regarding giving over designer rights, I have not read through all the legal disclaimers, but 100% of the time I have seen these done, yes your design rights would be given over to the company running the contest.

If it's anything like UST Mamiya's "design us a shaft" - I'd pass.

The golf industry has run out of ideas to be honest - if there's a geometric shape left that somebody hasn't already tried, then I'd like to see it.. Somebody who earns a lot more money than you would like you to also do their job for them it seems. And from a company that has struggled to compete with the other leading OEM's in the past few years, I'd be inclined to tell them to go take a running jump.
