GaryF
Last week fitter had me hit various 5h, 7w and 5w, but due to low trajectory that day gave me the HL version to try for a few days. Felt too light and somewhat whippy. Went back today and hit both the HL and regular and did well with both. Probably a little longer carry with HL but good distance and height with both. Not looking at a new driver but wanted to hit my current Fusion and see my numbers then compare to the Ping 430 Max. Several years ago when I took lessons, they remade my swing. When I was 40, with a bad swing technique I was measured at 96 mph, During the lessons with proper technique, I was around 87-88 (and carry around 185). The past 2 years I have worked a lot flexibility p, etc, and have picked up a lot of distance. I’m now 70 yo, and today my SS avg was 94.6 (pleasantly shocked), carry at 215 and total in the 235-245 range. My max with both my old driver and new Ping were an identical carry of 218. GolfSpy_BEN
Not overly happy with my 5i lately, so I am contemplating something along the lines of a utility iron or a hybrid at 25 degrees. Need to go to Golf Galaxy this weekend and put my hands on some, but open to other suggestions as well. I had been using DriTacs for several years and have liked them, but they do wear out quicker than most. Then this past year, as some have worn out, I have been trying different versions of the dritac midsize and became sold. Having hit a lot of different clubs during my recent fitting process, I decided to do something different, so just before placing my irons order, I tried out the Golf Pride MCC +4 on my driver, and love it. Really has helped relax/quiet my right hand. Based on that,I ordered my new Mizunos with the same. Hit the new irons for the first time today with those grips and I think I’m going to really like. A lot. cksurfdude, ZackS, BallsLeon and 3 others 6 Quote Driver: Fusion, 9 deg, UST Recoil 450 ES F3/2 430 MAX 4w (5w head delofted 1* with 3w shaft), 7w, 5h w/ Alta CB Soft Regular shaft JPX923 HM 6i - GW w/ UST Recoil 460 ESX F3 RTX6 52* and 56* with Recoil 760 ESX F2 Versa DB DoubleWide : Z-Star Tour
GolfSpy_BEN
Ever since I did the True golf fit thing on a different thread here, I’ve been thinking about the result. It suggested I should try the Wilson Dynapower Carbon with a Ventus Blue shaft. I love the Callaway Rogue ST TD LS that I’m currently gaming, so I’m not thinking about the Wilson head per se, but trying out the Callaway head with a ventus blue shaft has me thinking… cksurfdude, Caddie1966 and JohnSmalls 3 Quote WITB: D: QI-10 core 9* Ventus Blue TR Velocore 6x 3w: Brnr mini driver 13.5 Kai Li White 70x 3h: G430 19° Tour 2/Stiff 7W: 21° Rogue ST Max LinQ 7X 5i-6i: ZX5 MKII Project X 6.0 7i-PW: ZX7 MKII Project X 6.0 50°, 54° & 58°: Glide Forged Pro P: Special Select Del Mar Ball: Tour BX mindset Bag: Ghost MGS Anyday 14 way "And so, we beat on, boats against the current, borne ceaselessly into the past." - Fitzgerald ” The woods are lovely, dark and deep, But I have promises to keep, And miles to go before I sleep, And miles to go before I sleep.” - Frost "That you are here—that life exists and identity, That the powerful play goes on, and you may contribute a verse." - Whitman

A lot. I’ve been a believer of the standard MCC+4 for a few years, good long wearing grips and don’t get slippery in FL humidity.
