tony@CIC
While I know that the winter Olympics are being televised, I very much am glad that the pro golf tours likewise are televised. I prefer to watch the golf because it reminds me that spring is coming and I once more will be on the course. The winter Olympics just reminds me how atypically cold our winter has been. Additionally, I never participated in the events and sports of winter. It would have required snow and ice and that I would be outside in it. That wasn't going to happen. However, with the summer Olympics, during my youth, I was known to actually have run on occasions.Guess it all depends where you grew up and the activities you participated in. I grew up in New England and skied since I was in elementary school. I love to watch the Winter Olympics except for skating, I get really upset at the politics of that sport. Summer olympics not so much. In fact I don't think I watched the last two - summer time I'd rather be out golfing or boating. sixcat
A friend of mine took this video in mid-January in southern Grayson County, Virginia. Oak Hill Academy (basketball powerhouse) is located less than a mile from where this video was shot. This area saw nearly 400 consecutive hours of below freezing temperatures in December/January.
