The Evian Championship Preview, Pairings, and Lots More!

This week the LPGA travels to France for the playing of the Evian Championship. 

In Gee Chun will be trying to defend the title she won last year when she cruised to a four shot victory over So Yeon Ryu and Sung Hyun Park.

The first round of the Evian Championship has been canceled because of rain. All scores of players who started are wiped clean. This is now a 54 hole event that will restart on Friday morning.

That's crazy that they would wipe out the scores. Korda must be really bummed.

How in the world do you cancel the round and wipe the scores from the first round because of wind and rain???  Suspend play if you have to, and then continue the next day.  It's a major, you can finish on Monday.  I'm sure the sponsors don't want to see a major tournament shortened to 54 holes after play is stopped on the first day!!!!!

 

There has been some pretty bad weather at The Open Championship, and I have never seen then cancel the round, wipe the scores, and start over.  Un-f-ing-believable!!!

I hate the decision to shorten this to 54 holes....then Sung Hyun Park goes from 6 over through 8 holes to 8 under....makes the whole tournament ridiculous....not a fan at all of this decision

How does the LPGA keep making these stupid decisions.

They are starting to make ground with more events, and money, and sponsors.

Then BAM! Out of left field pull something like this.

 

Will they continue to use this model going forward?

The LPGA complains about not playing for enough money, then they pull something like this.  The Evian is the 5th major????  Not when it's a 54 hole event!!  Drop it as a major, or play on Monday.
