Got married 15 years ago today...funny, it rained in the afternoon then too...lol.  People took that as a good sign...I took it as God laughing his a*s off  at me :D.  We didn't have a reception...because it was more like an epic party complete with a limbo line with a tequila shot at the end of the limbo.

MDGolfHacker

Congratulations!!  How low did you go?

We didn't have a reception 11 years ago unless you count playing golf until we all dropped.  We rented the course for the day.

We don’t stop playing the game because we get old; we get old because we stop playing the game.”

Woo!!

My daughter came in 5th place tonight at her Cross Country meet out of 23...

She was in first place but took a wrong turn because the course wasn't marked well or she would have finished 1st.

She's loving it, getting into “Beast Mode” and hammering down as she says.

Love it!

MDGolfHacker[/quoteHappy Anniversary Buddy.

I'm happy that I can finally talk about the new Bridgestone clubs I've been testing! :D

What. You were getting tired of our company. LOL

Seriously, though I know what you mean. As I dont recall this type secret testing having been done before on the forum.

War Department and me were on the cart path going to the gym when we both noticed something that looked like a wallet in the cart path. Stopped picked it up and it was someone's worst nightmare. It was a guys cell phone, license, Medicare Card, Credit Cards, Debit Cards and more + a serious amount of cash. We got his address from his license and thru the Villages App. It wasn't that far so we drove over to his home and returned the wallet. He didn't know it was missing. The wallet fell out of his cargo shorts while driving his cart back home from the farmers and he never noticed.

One stunned looking 80 year old.

That's a reason why I don't have my cell phone with one of those wallet type holders. I keep them separate.

We just found out that my 15 yr old son just made All-State Choir here in Louisiana!!! Second year in-a-row. I'm so proud of him! He takes voice lessons every week, and we even sent him to a new school this year JUST to be in one of the best choir programs in the South.

So cool! So happy for him!

War Department and I do believe that if you do a good deed it will come back to you.

A new Restaurant opened yesterday and it's a kinda high end Fish Menu and pricey. WD ordered grilled salmon, me Ahi Tuna with a appetizer to share. After a bit of time the entrees arrived no appetizer, oops. We are our dinners and they were great. Our server noticed the mistake and was visibly upset so WD & I kept telling her no big deal it's cool. Then the manager comes over and very quietly gives his apology in the really minor mixup and tells us the meal is comped. We told him no it's not a big deal. Anyway they would not take our money and we got a take out bag with the appetizer. The mgr did good.

WD says it was all because we found the iPhone/cash/Credit Cards and then delivered to the owner. Maybe she's right.

As a lifelong Red Sox fan, I wish that I could look at two cretinous reprobates like that and think that they were funny.

I'm either losing my sense of humor or becoming an even bigger snob than I realize.

Just a little Senior crankiness. Nothing to worry about that a Sawx World Series Championship won't cure.

Got to watch my daughters Cross Country meet today. She came in 10 or 11th... did a great job.

There are some serious runners out there. The 6th grade boy who placed first was faster than the 7th or 8th graders... pretty impressive.

I'm going to help coach for the rest of the season.

Just finished a 8 week workout program. 4 days a week of lifting plus an eating plan. Down 16 pounds and feel great! And that was with a stretch of rough weeks nutrition wise. For someone who has always struggled with weight, it's a big accomplishment for me! Excited to see how round 2 goes!

AND just booked two rounds of golf at TPC San Antonio for early next month. My wife has a conference there and I'm tagging along for it. Just scheduled my clubs for Shipsticks! Can't wait!

Congrats. BTW we have a weight loss (workout) thread going. Not as active as it was earlier this year - so you might want to post ongoing results there.

Pine Valley,

from what I've heard,

would eat me up and spit me out.

I'm not sure that i'd enjoy being humiliated, but it's certainly beautiful and historic.

Speaking of historic....

Jack Sharkey's in Boston was my favorite watering hole for discussing sports with my friends when I was in school.

Mr. Sharkey fought most of the prominent heavyweights of the 1930s, these including Max Schmeling, Primo Carnera, King Levinksy, Tommy Loughran, and yes, even Joe Louis.  In his sixties, he still made a very imposing  presence, and he also shot a pretty good game of pool.  He lived to be 91.

You always knew if Mr. Sharkey was in the bar or not.  When he wasn't, the place could get a little loud. When he was, nobody screwed around.  I had given up my amateur status to box on club cards for spending money when I was in college, and Jack Sharkey's was right near Rip Valenti's New Garden Gym where I used to train.  I never saw any Celtics in Sharkey's, but several Boston Bruins would relieve a dry mouth there after a workout. I got to know them.

I wasn't in the city much for a certain period  in my life, so I've written the Boston Historical Society for information as to when the bar closed.  I think that this is somethings people do when they get old.  They look for closure. They try to tie up loose ends.
