Daughter came in 14th at a soaked CC meet. 53 middle school girls.

She was as high as 6th, but lost her pace. Need to work on it with her, but a 8:04 pace on a hilly golf course is pretty good!

Pretty good for a rainy hilly course.

Had to keep reminding her to keep pace. She kept falling back to keep pace with another girl. Which would have been fine, but she's beaten the 4 girls in front of her before. So next meet I told her to find one of those girls, keep pace with them, and then hammer down at the end.

Working on her strategy, the coach isn't really into it anymore.

Keep after her, she sounds like a winner especially with you coaching her up!

BTW, love the new pic. Very classic!

I enjoyed boot camp... so don't worry I will motivate her.

Yes, Seve is a legend. One of my favorites. You saw the other 3 on the Mt Everest thread, Arnie, Jack, Seve, Tiger.

Each one of those guys had a huge impact on golf in their era. Seve and Jack overlapped, but what Seve did for the EuropeanTour was something special.

Given my computer illiteracy, I'm very happy that I can write this post.    This morning I opened the site using the means that I typically do, when I saw that things were different.   My first thought was "this ain't good, I'm going to miss my spy buddies".   Then I saw the registration or account creation in the corner of the screen.   So I figured I'd just re-up so to speak.  When I typed in my screen name, I got a message that it was in use.   My thought was "of course it is that's me.    So then I just pressed the function next to it and sure enough my info appeared with remember me checked.   That was good, because I would never have remembered my password.  So I hit enter and here I am.    While I succeeded more of less by accident, I, never the less, am proud of myself, because I didn't panic and  kept trying I made it here.   Again, I am really happy posting this,  because I would have missed my buds here and I didn't let a darn computer defeat me.
People ask how I became tech savvy. The answer is simple:trial and error and experimenting. Glad your weren't discouraged and you poked around until you figured it out.

After a few tries I'm getting the hang of it - at least on my desktop so all is good here (don't want to go through MGS withdrawals). Mt ipad version won't take my new password yet - but I'll try that later.

It's curious to see under the avatars that the 'likes' are in bold but the # of posts are not? Quality vs quantity??

Indeed, Congratulations!!!!   After my last such assessment, I asked "so how do I stand".   The response was "that is what we are trying to figure out".

I got kicked out a few days ago and after trying a few separate times I deleted the app then reinstalled it. Works fine now!

Nice!

Is it still sit-ups/pull-ups/3 mile run?

Best I could get was a 280.... could never get 20 pullups...maxed out at 18.  Sit-ups and run were much easier.

You guys must be Marines! Back in my Army days in the 90s pullups were not even part of the assessment thankfully. Pushups, situps and 2 mile run was our PT test. Maybe that's why I was in the rear with the gear , I was the best little REMF I could be 😅

Oh... yeah... I guess I thought all PFT's were the same.  haha.
Marines is/was 3 mile run in 18:00 = 100, 20 pull ups = 100, 60 situps in 2 min = 100.... I might have the situps one wrong but I always thought that was the easiest.  There weren't too many 300's and if you got one it was quite the accomplishment!

It's been a while but I think our was 12:00 or under to max the 2 miler, and something like 75 pushups and situps. There was a scale based on age but it was a loooong time ago. I remember beating 12:00 once and couldn't believe it was possible to run faster than that.

Yeah....there was a 2nd LT in our platoon who was a college runner and I tried to keep up with him for as long as possible.  When I finished I thought I was going to die ... literally thought my heart was going to explode and fly out of my chest.... I think I ended up with a 17:50 for 3 miles or something like that.
