White Sox Director live during game

... Just an absolutely fascinating look at what a director does during a baseball game. Last night the White Sox featured their video director for the entire 3rd inning and it was so interesting and intense. I had no idea it was this hectic and imagine at the end of the night Jim Angio is just mentally fried. Hopefully you can see this video but it gives you a taste of what it was like.

I thought you might be away on a film set.

 

Directing baseball is much harder than it was when I  was a toddler watching Red Sox and Braves games (we also had two teams back  then) on our 12" table top set and not really having a clue as to what i was watching.

 

(There was a lot of wrestling and roller derby back then too.)

 

Anyway, there were only two cameras, and the primary one was behind home plate, not in center field.

And they didn't zoom.  Each camera had multiple lenses on turrets, so you went to one while the other was spun to the desired lens.

... This was just a small sample. Live it was just exhausting as he talked the entire time going from camera shot to camera shot non stop and the announcers stayed silent other than that little interaction you saw. It really was amazing.
