Driving range mats

Hit the range last night for the 1st time in months. Since I blame mats for making my carpal tunnel worse. I went with the plan of only hitting woods. I tried hitting about 10 wedge to losen up, and it sent waves of pain throug my hands and arms. Wood were  fine.

These were decent mats but I cant take them anymore. Living in Oregon , I dont see grass ranges from October until April.

I don't have carpal tunnel, but I really hate practicing on the mats with irons but, like you said, during the off season, it's mats or nothing.  Well not completely at my course, we do have 2 practice holes available that allow us to hit up to an 8 iron off grass, which is nice.

Irons off mats just allow too many errors to go unnoticed...but, what do you do?  Either ignore the iron swing or deal with it.

What course you playing up there in Salem?  I'm in Medford at RVCC.

I keep a twilight membership at McNary in Keizer. I play others as well Whats the course to play down south. I need to make a liqour run one of these days  and figure to  play a course or two.

I'm not a fan either. I don't have carpal tunnel thankfully, I just hate the lack of feedback. I prefer grass whenever possible. 

If I'm stuck hitting off of mats only, I'll hit woods and easy wedges just to work on mechanics.

Grants Pass Golf Club is a fun course,  in Medford you have Centennial or Eagle Point as better courses -- Stoneridge is a pretty course, but not well maintained.  Laurel Hills is a 9 holer -- never played it. Ashland is also a 9 holer that I have never played.  Only other course I played off I-5 is Myrtle Creek -- it's hit or miss depending on when you play it.
