Popular Post EnderinAZ
Good morning spies! My brothers arrive today. In 45 years of marriage, my older brother has never come to see me. Today he and my little brother will show up for about a week. This should be interesting. Going to be seriously hot while they are here too. Great hockey yesterday! The rematch from last year with the Canes and Islanders did not disappoint. I am surprised that no one dropped the gloves between the Bruins and the Maple Leafs. Domi and Marchand were at each other from the initial puck drop. Popular Post Dead Solid Bogey
SUNDAY,SUNDAY,SUNDAY my spies and I’m still ALIVE. Survived yesterday morning’s torture of sewing, swatches, stitching, yards of material, yarn, and well just yucky stuff. It has been eons since I have bought anything golf/boy wise an additionally it has been a really long time since I have brought public condemnation to the realm of her high highness…. so yesterday was NOT officially punishment for husband type transgression(s). I informed the Bride of Buying, that I was claiming husband attaboys, a bunch of attaboys, for going to “ cloth camp “. She responded with a slight sinister type smile and said; “ We will see “. So, with a heavy sigh it was off to next on what I had come to call the “ Hades Tour for Husbands “… To my very pleasant surprise we had a late but great seafood lunch overlooking the GOM. Next we checked into a very nice hotel, in a suite overlooking the GOM. The accommodations while a bit much, but were to be expected as her royal majesty isn’t staying in a van down by the river. Next on the female almighty’s agenda was an extraordinary pleasurable surprise.. We attended a concert that I throughly enjoyed. It was quite the trip down memory lane… The current versions of these bands did their legacy’s proud. So Saturday ended up as half the day in hell and half the day in heaven… A win by husband standards. I must have seemed to smug at breakfast as the tiara wearing totalitarian informed me that she wanted to talk on the way home about the next leg of our special couples day… I almost blurted out “ Special couples DAY! Day as in one “ but the self preservation instinct enabled me to bite my lower lip and keep silent. So as we return home on day three of the special couples DAY.. I am steeling myself for what the Empress of Excess has in store for my being and the family bank account…. May this Sunday be a DAY of joy and happiness for you all. cnosil, Steve F, fixyurdivot and 12 others 1 1 6
Popular Post Tom the Golf Nut
1 hour ago, Rob Person said: Sunday fun day!? Not! It began as such. Whilst sipping on a nice zero sugar adult beverage last night, a big brown van pulled up. 2 people exited, walked to the back, and I heard alot of commotion. I went outside and kicked on some extra flood lights. Both started up the drive with large boxes each on dolly rollers, peaking over the top of the handle. I thanked them and began to inspect the labels, as I don't recall ordering what seemed half of the amazon warehouse that was now sitting on my parking spot. I got the lady boss to exit the porch and just stared at her, hands agape, expressing a crooked smile that carried my perplexing thoughts across to her. She simply looked at me and said we will deal with those tomorrow. Now... I don't know how anyone else here reacts to getting a delivery, but I am not the one to just let it sit there, especially when it's a mystery. And who doesn't like a good mystery? This guy! From the size and weight, I am guessing furniture of some sort, but for where I have not a clue. So as I sit here sipping my coffee, in utter bewilderment, I really am tempted to just open everything! Have a feeling any plans of me time will be put on hold Have a great sunday!!! Last time that happened to me. I stopped the guys after they were heading back to the truck. I said thank you, but you forgot something. There was a return that you were supposed to pick up. Popular Post Jean D
Good morning all, Day 3 of figuring out the projector location for the simulator. Sigh. Speaking with Optoma customer support yesterday, they stated I will need to move the lens of the projector back another 7” and I can also have lateral deviation of up to 26” and still be able to correct the image to fill my 96’ H x 108” W screen without being in the way of my driver swing. I will be trying that out later this coming week when my best friend and ladder-guru is available…BUT we are going to figure out a way to put the projector in the right spot and TEST the keystone correction before drilling more holes in the ceiling. For anyone thinking of putting up a simulator/projector, measure 5 times, test 10 times, drill once!!! The end result will 100% be worth it, but the growing pains can be a little daunting sometimes. Especially when they are self-inflicted! The simulator is usable in it’s current state (I’m about to go warm up for my 2nd to last round at a commercial simulator with best friend), I just have a 24” band at the bottom of the screen that has no image and I am unable to correct for it. Functional but not pretty! Have a fantastic Sunday everyone! Popular Post EasyPutter
Good morning MGSpies from a still chilly but the sun is threatening to break through WNY where this was what was outside just 3 years ago. Today is getting the winter critter fencing in the yard stowed for the summer and getting the first cut of the lawn as yesterday ended up not just showery but some of that white stuff was in the air too, thank goodness the surfaces were too warm for it to stick. All the concern of cold and white stuff is suddenly tempered by @Rob Person's comment about blood sucking vermin that I share the aversion of @Dead Solid Bogey and @sirchunksalot and you know what? Popular Post THE GOLF GUY
Good morning everyone, I haven’t been on at all since the Tuesday before the Masters . Incidentally, it was a very predictable Masters with Scotty winning of course and the typical “ Saturday charge “ didn’t even come close to a charge by anyone for the most part , oh a few were lurking around . The fireworks with birdies and eagles was replaced by pars and bogeys , what the hell? Anyway I enjoyed it and hope that next year’s Masters will be a little more noteworthy. My thoughts are ,is Scotty going to be the most dominant player since Tiger or is this just a “hot streak “ that he is on ? Either way , I enjoyed watching him win again and also others. When attending any PGA, LPGA or The Champions Tour, you are constantly reminded that , the vast majority of us pale in comparison with their talents but we also realize they aren’t perfect either . As I strolled around Amen corner , watching marginal tee shots roll off the front of the mound back off of #12 into Rae’s creek , watching approaches on the ridiculously long par 4 11th green , or trying to manipulate a tee shot off of the #13 tee box, I saw the human anguish and frustration, up close and personal and totally related to what they were experiencing and almost felt a sense of compassion for them . Finally, it was great week and was glad that I got to attend again , that made my 10th Masters , and I’m already looking forward to the next Masters , that I’ll be able to attend. Popular Post Kenny B
Good Morning everyone!! I haven’t been online for several days and I sure missed out on a lot of happenings!! It’s amazing what happens here in just a day or two… still trying to catch up! Today is our anniversary!! 17 years! Seems like a lifetime, but not the first marriage for either of us. 3 weeks ago I mentioned that I had proposed on April 1st… a day I could remember; that’s important guys! I proposed on the 1st tee of our golf course. Of course, the next day she asked if I meant it! I said: “Meant what?” But we still got married a year and 3 weeks later. We were going to get married on April 1st, but I had work friends that were going to be in town so we waited the 3 weeks. Here’s... the rest of the story (short version)! We rented the golf course (a 9-hole exec course where we met) for the day and had the wedding ceremony on the 1st tee. The ceremony was performed by a jazz pianist from Seattle (check out deemsmusic.com) who got his minister’s license as a tax dodge. We met him at a golf course in Spokane and had been playing golf with him for several years (he sadly passed away from cancer a few years ago). Anyway, the ceremony took all of 3 minutes; we said our vows, turned around and teed off and everyone was invited to play. We had cupcakes for our wedding “cake”, food and an open bar in the clubhouse with a licensed bartender. So here we are 17 years later and still enjoying each other and playing golf as much as we can. Today we have a 10am tee time and warmer weather than we did back then, and we have dinner reservations at a nice Italian dinner this evening. Popular Post Byrnzee
Good morning Spies! Looking like a pretty nice day in Chicago. No real plans on the agenda besides watching the RBC Heritage and the Chevron Championship. Hoping for an exciting finish for both events! My wife and I recorded the Formula 1 race last night and woke up this morning to watch it. Had to stay off my phone to avoid any spoilers, which was actually a nice way to start the morning. Was able to unplug and just enjoy some peace and quiet with my coffee. Already scheduled a tee time for next Saturday! Seems like we're officially in golf season in Chicagoland. Popular Post Shrek74
Good morning, Spies. Happy Sunday!Yesterday was a good day. I had a lesson, and during the lesson, my coach and I found a bit of an ah-ha moment. The two main issues I've been dealing with is lack of rotation in the downswing and flipping at impact. We were able to find something that seemed to fix both. I still have a lot of work on it to make it more permanent, but the fact we found it was a miracle. Wishing y’all a wonderful Sunday April 21st… a day I will always remember! Happy Anniversary Nice photo of the last time you were allowed to drive the cart! You are also correct that it is not kid friendly. I've never played the game itself, not really sure why, but I'm enticed to go looking for it. I pretty much only played the original fallout game. It was a game that was both awesome and frustrating! I’ll have to see if I still have it for PS3 and play for nostalgia. Popular Post GolfSpy_KFT
Good morning all and happy Sunday from a Beautiful Wisconsin spring day. Been doing a bunch of cleaning around the house as we were gone all day yesterday for work conferences and hoping to sneak out on the course this evening or at least the range to hit some balls. Probably wouldn’t get a full 9 in even, but just to get some on course practice to continue my ball striking progress would be great.
