Good morning spies! I hope you all have a great Thursday! I am staying with my grandma all day today and will be working on grad school once again. I am trying to get all of my grad school done before the wedding, so we are in crunch time to get stuff done. Unfortunately, that means no golf for me today. I'm planning on playing tomorrow, a full 18 holes which I haven't done in a while. Put the work in today and it will pay off for the rest of the weekend. I hope you all have a day that you deserve! Not supposed to get to hot this morning so keeping my fingers crossed they won’t want a second loop after lunch. Not that I’d mind the pay but not sure these knees will last 36 homes, lol. Good morning, Spies!

Post-workout and at the office, hitting the coffee hard.  Yet another long day ahead of pushing lot and lots of paper, but it's all in furtherance of client goals and my own goal of clearing the decks for the family golf trip next week. I've mentioned it, what, four times already and it's still 5 days away?  A bit eager, are we?

Contemplating how to be consistent during those four days of golf.  My game has improved so much, but I'm still prone to the occasional flub/quit/chunk/sh*** that just kills my ability to score.  I can shoot 82-84 everyday, but cannot seem to break the habit of blowing up (double or worse) twice a round, which keeps me from 80 or lower.  If I could avoid those costly bad swings . . .  

That's what's on my mind during the paper pushing today.  

I hope you all have super days, and a lot of you get to play a lot of excellent golf.

Looks like it will be a beautiful day today.    Work day has started and I have golf league tonight.   Hoping I can play; I got a cortisone shot in my wrist to help alleviate some carpal tunnel symptoms I was having.  Hurts more now than it did before the shot; just in a different place.

Good morning everyone! I've been a little absent form the forum lately as I have been trying to focus on my family, work, and my game at the same time. I started today out with some golf by playing a early dew sweeping 9 holes with my newly retired father. Made it home to a still asleep household (even the dog) and just getting a little more coffee in me to start replying to some emails and bury myself in the wonderful world of Excel. Good morning Spies,

The rains stopped overnight and I have a 10:36 tee time. Halfway through my first cup.

The last time I played at my home course a Swag Golf headcover was in the lost and found. The folks in the pro shop weren’t familiar with the brand. So I reached out to Swag to see if they could assist with finding the owner. They suggested posting a generic message on the Swag Official Facebook page which I’ve done. But so far no one has responded. I will find out this morning if anyone has returned to the course to claim it. 

The Forum admins continue to kill it with the testing opportunities. The Mizuno one launched this morning looks like another great one. 

The deer reappeared last evening to snack on my neighbors tree.

I just remembered something I meant to share here with the Good Morning Crew.

This past Sunday, while playing in the rain, alone, on a deserted course north of Indy, I watched a large coyote dart out of a riverside treeline while a young 3-4 pointer buck gave chase.  The buck, apparently content to scare the coyote off but not trying to catch it (smart), followed the coyote across three fairways and around a pond before both disappeared into the opposite treeline.  That tandem was a first for me.

Oh, and fwiw, this giant snapping turtle was enjoying the rain and solitude, but was not happy to have his picture taken.

I'm feeling a little sore from my round yesterday but feeling good about the progress I've made from tee to green. I've been replaying the round in my mind and am just giddy with all the improvements in my long game.

On the soreness front. My pre-round routine includes Advil or Aleve. Mostly for my wonky ankle. I can relate to seeing improvements. It does make one a bit giddy. Still waiting to have a round that ties it all together.

GM Y'all- been really busy lately and tryin to get things back to something that resembles "normal". Hopefully it's gonna happen soon. We had a co-worker quit on us and we've been a little short staffed before that happened- so it's been a little hectic. I need a nice golf vacation SOON. For those of you golfing today- I'm jealous- I know I'll get there soon. I hope y'all hit 'em far and straight and have nothing but F&Gs with NO 3-putts. For the rest of us worker bees- I know we've got this. Hope y'all have an awesome day

Good Morning everyone!  Well, I'm still here.  Came close to dying yesterday.  I went to the course for short game work; hit a few irons and drivers off the range, then hit a small bucket of balls onto the pitching green.  Next headed to the putting green where we can chip low shots only.  One of the guys I met on the range had come down to the green to do the same and we started talking.  Believe me... there is NOTHING like the sound of a golf ball striking your skull.  I've been hit before; about 10 years ago I was hit on my left arm just below my elbow, but a blow on the head reverberates throughout your entire body.  

I expected the guy who hit it from the #9 fairway to come rolling up the cart path looking for it.  Nope!  He left it there.  The guy I was talking to walked over towards the #9 green and asked who hit the ball.  Can't see the green from the putting green.  The guy who hit it eventually came off the green and apologized; didn't want the ball back... a ratty TP5.  Got a knot on the back of my head, but if I had been facing the other way...  Resting today.

I'm right there with you. My latest MO seems to be mess up the first 3 holes- get it together and then somewhere around 16 or 17 start to lose it again. I had a mid-high 70s round goin on Saturday- even with my nasty first 3 holes. Then about halfway through 16 the wind kicked up and it started to rain. I had a bogey/double/triple (a trifecta of sorts) finish on 16/17/18. I KNOW I've gotta play a COMPLETE 18. If I could just get away from blowing up the card with those bad holes.

There is no “angry” reaction emoji, but for posts like these there really should be.  

On a better note, I am grateful that the errant shot didn’t take you out, as this place wouldn’t be the same without you.

If you figure it out @Merlin1313 please share.  Drilling and practicing is definitely making things better, but man if I could just avoid that random driver OB/wedge skull/9 iron topper/etc. scores would plummet!

Scary stuff!!!! Glad to know you're relatively OK. Rest up!

As for me - two meetings in the office today, one I'm not looking forward to but more because these tend to be long and boring. Sorry, I'd rather be productive than sitting in the conference room! My back is still wonky, still cycling heat on and off in hopes it'll be good enough for me to at least get 9 holes in this weekend.

Thank you!  I appreciate it.  This is one of the beefs I have with the muni I play.  I like the course, but over the past 9 years my wife and I have been hit/nearly hit 24 times a year on average.  I count any ball that lands within 10 yards.  Holes 5, 6 and 7 run parallel with very few trees between them; separate by large mounds of grass so shots flying over them are blind. Last year an ambulance arrived at the #6 fairway and took an old guy to the hospital; watched it all from the range.  Also hole 10 is to the right of the range with similar mounds.  However, I never thought that the putting green was a danger zone until yesterday.  If I had a viable option to change memberships, I would.

Cannot believe the course hasn't done anything about that!
As a player you assume some liability but this is crazy. I can see potential for a huge lawsuit.

Yes, unfortunately that plays a part - saw a Super Speed study not too long ago that correlated grip strength and distance.

Do you have one of these (Theraband wrist roller .. also really good for tennis / golfers elbow) ...

I agree.  The city owns the course.  I've complained to the management company but they can't make changes without the funding.  They don't even have nets on the driving range.  As I mentioned earlier, there are lots of yellow range balls in the #10 fairway.  I think they don't want to change the esthetics of the course.  The city won't even put up fences on the property line where the course borders streets on the back nine; instead relying on distance.  As a result we now have homeless people walking across the course to/from the supermarket rather than walking around the course perimeter.  We had one guy lock himself in one of our port-a-pottys and OD.  A course worker called the police who prayed the door off and they narcan'd him twice.

Don't have one, but I do use the SuperSpeed grip strength trainer.  Don't have any data on how/if it works, but I do follow their protocol.  I figure WTH.

Overcast and 80 degrees in Central FL this morning.  A lazy morning, on 3rd cup of coffee. Working from home today.  Maybe get some practice in this evening. 

@Kenny B glad you're doing ok! As @IndyBonzo said watch out for concussion! Ridiculous getting hit is a common occurrence at the course!

Morning everyone!  "Working" today (really just watching the US Open on my laptop) before heading out for 18 holes to try out the new Snell MTB Prime X this afternoon.  I'm usually a ProV1x guy, but I miss the enhanced alignment aid that they got rid with the new model this year.  Being cheaper also helps. 

Tried the Callaway triple track but those lines are just a little too big.
