Popular Post J7Hawkins
Good morning everyone! It is a super nice morning here after some overnight rain cooled it off. I am wrapping up a few work tasks for the week and then going out to play 18 at the local track. I spent about 90 minutes practicing yesterday and really think I have a good feel for what I need to correct coming off my member/guest tournament last week. In the tournament, I played well 2 of the 3 days (plus the practice round) but kept struggling with one common miss- pulling the ball left of the target. So, I am really focusing this week and next on finishing my backswing while keeping my weight position proper. As always, I will figure out this issue and then move to the next that arises, but that is why I love the game! Have a day! richk9holes, cksurfdude, ParFore74x and 12 others 15 Quote Driver: g410 (Mitsubishi Tensei Orange 65g) | Mini Driver: TaylorMade BRNR Mini Copper (Kai’Li Blue 70g) | 3 Wood: LTDx (Project X HZRDUS Smoke IM10) | Utility Iron: Sub70 699 v2 Utility (20° Project X HZRDUS Smoke Black 90g)) | XCOR2 0211 5-GW (DG Tour Series S300) | Wedges (52, 56, 60): T22 Blue Ion (DG Tour Series S400) | Putter: Versa Double-Wide Blade (Stroke Lab shaft) | Ball: RB Tour X Baseball player turned golf addict. Popular Post MattWillGolf
Good morning Spies, The moisture has returned. Church golf league tonight. I am slated to tee off at 4:30. But the forecast may dictate otherwise. Played 9 yesterday. Nothing seemed to be working so I threw caution to the wind and pulled the driver. And lo and behold it decided to play nice. But the real question is, but for how long? A rain filled Father’s Day weekend could mean a U.S. Open TV Marathon. In an effort to avoid crowds this weekend my Father’s Day meal out will be lunch today at the new BBQ restaurant in town, The Angry Smokehouse. Hope all have a great day. Popular Post Kenny B
Good Morning everyone! Up early today; couldn't sleep past 4am. Early coffee and browsing the internet for some clothes to wear to a wedding in August. Recycled all my "fat clothes" from my work days. I was told I need a long sleeve shirt, slacks and jacket but I don't need to wear a tie... ties are the only thing I have that still fit!! After 7:30am I fired up the lawn mower, then my wife mowed her half of the lawn. No golf today; still resting the thumb and waiting for the US Open. I apologize to all my picks; nothing else explains why they played so crappy on a day that was a birdie fest. Usually we host about 150 cars / guests, they get free coffee, donuts, or water. Socialize with music playing in the background, and a 50/50 raffle. Popular Post EasyPutter
Good morning MGSpies on a chilly to start WNY Saturday morning. Quiet in the house with Earl Gray in the mug and MGS Forum on the screen . Anniversary #34 today and first one really that we are together for it having married before wife's teacher career began (still don't understand why mid-June was her ideal wedding date when all she ever wanted to be is a teacher and it is exam/end of school year time here) and I was still in the early years of my Army National Guard and Army Reserve career with May-August being prime time for active duty orders. Anniversary #24 was the first one we actually had the day together to celebrate so of course we had no tradition and still don't. No kids for the first time in 24 years too. MyGolfSpouse has no issue with me supporting our WNY PGA HOPE Downrange Day initiative piloting a program of our own invention as an offering to HOPE Graduate Veterans a 9 hole round at a course somewhere in WNY PGA HQ footprint. Getting 100% available slots used is important to showing need for the initiative and today play is at Niagara Frontier GC (again!). Today we are walking in a parade for the country club as they asked if we’d have our oldest participate (he’s becoming quite popular up there!). That should be fun as it isn’t going to be terribly hot. Other than that there are no set plans for the day. Then it's off to the office to drop this work off, on to Bloomington, IN, to take care of some stuff I won't bore you with, and hopefully back to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway this afternoon in time to watch one of my oldest and best friends race his vintage car and hang out at his pit party (and drink his booze), followed by an early Father's Day dinner tonight with our eldest daughter who recently turned 21 and asked us to take her to her first "real adult fancy swanky bar" for dinner. It promises to be a full, fun day. I hope to sneak some putting practice in there somewhere, but . . . yeah, probably not. Golf tomorrow morning to kick off Father's Day! Wife and I are heading to the local farmer’s market shortly and then I am planning on playing a round at one of the small town courses about 40 minutes from home. It’s the only time that I can get her to go with me to the golf course and she drives the cart around while I play. She tells people that I play golf while she drives me around and heckles me. sirchunksalot, GolfSpy_BEN, fixyurdivot and 8 others 8 3 Quote TSi3 10° w/ Mitsubishi Tensei 1K Black 65g TS2 15° 3W w/ Project X HZRDUS Smoke Black 6.0 70g 818 H1 21° Hybrid w/ Mitsubishi Tensei CK Blue 70g MP-18 MMC 2 iron w/ KBS Tour C-Taper S 120g JPX 921 HM 5-GW w/ Project X LZ 5.5 115g JB Forged 54° & 58° w/ Project X LZ 6.0 120g EV5.3 Black
Rickp
25 minutes ago, Rickp said: Happy Saturday & GM. Daughter & Gkids flew back to CT last night from Orlando. The flight was not without incident. When boarding plane started there was a man who was drunk and creating a problem. Flight was delayed for a short time while he was removed from plane. This seems to happen often lately. Anyway they arrived in New Haven on time. Sure was great to have them here for a visit. While we recuperate from last few days I was going to work on the shrubs but it’s threatening rain, yea!! No golf until Monday, probably work in the yard between storms. Rainy Season finally here! Popular Post cnosil
Looks like a beautiful morning, but the weather was devastating yesterday evening. Tornado warnings came in about 5pm which was quickly followed by heavy rain, marble sized hail, high winds, etc. I am fortunate, never lost power and have no damage, but a couple of blocks away is a different story. Trees down, houses damage, and power outages that are estimated to last until Monday. No one has confirmed a tornado in my neighborhood, but the first photo below was a photo someone posted from across the river and the other photos are a few pictures people from my neighborhood have posted. tdroma98, Caddie1966, sirchunksalot and 9 others 12 Quote Driver: G400 Max 9* w/ KBS Tour Driven Fairway: XCG7 Beta 15* w/Fujikura Fuel Hybrids: 915H 21* w/KBS Tour Graphite Hybrid Prototype 915H 24* w/KBS Tour Graphite Hybrid Prototype Irons: TR20V 6-11 w/Vizard TR20-85 Graphite Wedge: 54/12D, 60/8M w/Accra iWedge 90 Graphite Putter: Sacks Parente MC 3 Stripe Backup Putters: Milled Collection RSX 2, mFGP2, Futura 5W, TM-180 Member: MGS Hitsquad since 2017
fixyurdivot
Top of the pot spies . Another sunny day in AZ. Looks like our morning routine of opening up the doors and windows for a few hours of cool air is going to change. I heard the AC come on at 0400 this morning and when I opened things up it was 72F outside. Forecast high today is 101F and tomorrow 105F. Saturday team play today at Granite Falls South. 6/6/6, 3 net red flags and 2 net white and blue. Reading @cnosilpost above got me thinking about the monsoon season here. Officially anytime from now through mid September. We've not experienced this but have heard lots of stories. Most of the time they see they forecast them in advance, but occassionally they come out of nowhere. Mom Nature has a way of putting our place here on earth in sobering perspective. Have a great day whatever you have planned. GolfSpy_BEN
Good Morning All, The youngest’s fever was a 24 hour thing and he’s back to bouncing off the walls. So our regularly scheduled programming can commence. SWMBO and I decided on a “Stay-cation” this year rather than go somewhere for a week. The benefits of this include no fewer than 3 rounds of golf over the next 9 days, if I can squeeze in a forth I’ll have enough rounds in for the VCT bag tag. Also, with a staycation there is no long travel days with 3 children 10 and under, so YAY! As for today, I may go to the range, I may not. Have a great Saturday!
