Launch Monitor (affordable somewhat)

Has anyone used a Launch Monitor that didn't break the bank and seemed sturdy enough to be out on the golf course in weather????? Thinking on getting one and have no clue where to start in portable versions

Take a peak at the Flightscope progression test going on. The Mevo is tough to beat imo for the price.

I will do just that and thanks!!!! We have the GC Hawk at my shop but it mounts on the ceiling and is like 5ft long wouldn't quite fit in the bag

Wow Mark i would have never guessed when I threw the question out there I would wind up smack in the middle of some testing data!!! Fantastic and your writing thus far is making you look like a seasoned pro!!! Thanks for the tip and I will be following closely!! Cannot believe how small that Meco is it looks to be the same size as the rangefinder I have hanging on my bag!!! This is why iam looking for something just like it as I can travel with it etc!  Thanks again

I would start at the Mevo+.  Not sure what your budget is, but you can get a new one with the pro package for around $2,500

I think the first thing you would need to decide is what data do you want and what capabilities are you looking for?  Then you need to establish budget.    As mentioned above there is an ongoing review of the Mevo line of launch monitors, there was also a recent review of the Rapsodo MLM2.

Cnosil, thanks for the heads up about the ongoing testing, I was pleasantly suprised when I asked the question that testing was underway on the Mevo as that was one I had my eye on. I only want it for on course diagnostics if needed speed, ballspeed, angle and playback if needed and that little thing checks all the boxes. I have a Gchawk commercial setup in my shop this is just an on course item I wanted to add and have found one for $399 at a local shop.

Mevo or MLM2 sound like good options to look into.

I just got the Garmin R10 for $600, which purportedly gives pretty good spin numbers if you use the special RCT balls (Rapsodo also requires a different kind of special balls) and you can shoot video with your phone in conjunction. Literally just took it out of the box today so haven't tried all that out yet.

I am currently enjoying my MLM2Pro at the moment (have only had it for a couple of weeks so far). I have an unofficial review of it in my signature that is on-going. One test I have not yet tried is standard balls out on a golf course (as mentioned the MLM2Pro has special balls to read spin). I would not want to lose those though you can (supposedly) buy RPT balls on ebay and other places.

This is a great thread! I am currently in the process of buying a house and at the end of the garden I can picture a SIM room!!! I am researching as much as possible as I think as well if I can get a launch monitor for outdoor practice too then it kills two birds with one stone!

I have a Garmin R10, it is directionally accurate for a decent set of variables and relatively inexpensive.  Requires 10 ft from net to ball and another 6-7 feet ball to unit.
