Popular Post TylorJudd
Got to shoot a +2 today. Had one birdie, a couple more attempts, but nothing ever could drop. CSiders12
So the consensus of my game is that I need to work on my putting. I shot a whopping 46 last night in 9 holes and had six 3-putts along the way. I didn't feel comfortable over any of my putts which is a bad way to feel on the golf course. My schedule has been really busy, so I haven't been able to get out and practice. I plan on getting out and working on my short game tonight, as it is clearly the part of my game that needs the most work. I hope that with some extra practice, I can convert more of those birdie and par putts in the upcoming rounds. Sluggo42
Shot my third good round in a row today with the Maxfli Tour X , what a great ball, and I’ll bet you the reviews of these balls will echo that sentiment… unfortunately, I offered on of them up to the driving range due to a sliced drive on nine, which ended up being a double, thereby negating the bonus of two birdies on 2 of the par 5’s. Perhaps it will turn up in one of my morning baskets of balls… Now that would be some lucky business there… sirchunksalot, JerryB, Rickp and 5 others 8 Quote TSr2 on tensi blue stiff Speedzone 3-wood on Tensi blue S Epic Max 5 and 7 woods on HZRDUS Reg flex Paradym 9 wood on HZRDUS reg flex P770 / P790 combo set on Ventus R-6 shafts 6-AW T22 Denim Copper 54°, 58° on Kinetic X Trajectory ER3 or, E.A.S. #4 (“Fang” or “Adele”) ProV1x, or, Maxfli Tour X .Org 14 cart bag Adidas Tour 360 , or Sketcher shoes

Rickp
Had a decent ball striking morning on a Exec. Greens were recently aerated and sanded so putting was difficult. Only 1 par 4 killed driver for a short GW and 2 sand filled putts. Been introducing an old Cally 4 heavenwood with a L shaft. I’m lovin this club. Hit it twice on long Par 3’s with good high ball flight and min runout. Morning was a little strained as I drew 2 of the worst players in the group. I thought they might run out of balls as a LOT of water/wetlands on this track. After I left them a couple times and proceeded to next hole they speeded up and stopped ball hawking. I don’t mind bad play as everyone has their poor days but unneeded slow play can irritate. Had a family of Sandhill Cranes watch a little of the show. Popular Post sirchunksalot
I got home from work today and headed to the course. My wife was hanging out with some friends and I went with the intention of either playing or if the course was crowded, hitting the range. I started out behind a foursome that was playing slow. I think it got into my head since I have to work tomorrow and made a disaster of the first hole. Pulled a drive, shanked a 7 iron, shanked a wedge OB, you get the idea. I carded an 8 on the par 4. I settled down after that carding 3 bogeys in a row before a double on the 5th. Driver was in play all day and I only hit 3 drives that were way off line, but they were good misses. Overall, I feel like all my clubs were behaving and while I wasn't striping a lot of shots, they were good. I hit a couple of fairway woods that were pummeled by my standards. On the 3rd, I ripped a 5 wood, but pulled it into the 1st fairway. I still need a little time dialing in my wedges, but I'm not going to complain with how they performed. It's mostly a me thing. The Agera was solid, not spectacular, but solid. I need to work on distance control because I was leaving a lot of mid too long range putts short. I'm nitpicking here since I had 8 2 putts and one 3 putt where I chipped into a downhill green and ended up 39 feet from the hole. My shot of the day came on the 9th hole. Hit my drive beside the cart path with enough room that I could stand comfortably without being on it. I had 143 uphill and pulled 7 iron. I aimed a little left of the green due to wind coming from that direction and let it fly. I hit dead center about 2 grooves low and watched the ball soar in the air and fade toward the green. It landed just long of the flag and on the fringe. I chipped to 6 feet and made the par. I shot 49, which is the best I have scored in quite a while. Rickp
50 minutes ago, Kenny B said: The line I see is based on the speed I perceive. and I do a poor job perceiving speed on Bermuda. Some Bermuda is fast, some slow and the grain gets every time. Add in some slope and my next putt can be longer than my first putt, but from a different direction. Yup, that can happen! Wednesday played a nice track that I like a lot, plays long & nice fast greens. Went to practice green and it was fast and smooth, really nice. First hole Par 5 and chipped on 3rd shot and whadda know, sanded greens. I wasn’t happy as there is no consistency. beerbellybbq
Got a chance to go out and play a quick 9 with my sister-in-law this morning before coming into work. Managed to start out par, par, before a double, single, double. Played bogey golf from there on out. Gross 45 for a net 33 (-3). Considering my course handicap is a +24 I will definitely take it! Somehow I managed to hit my driver far and straight. Best round of 9 for the year for me. Prodigal Duffer
Played 18 today to continue my testing of the OnCore VERO X1 for this forum (look for the official review next weekend!). Temperature was in the low 70s, overcast (later becoming partly sunny), with a steady 10-14 mph wind out of the north. Front nine, I played great. I drove the ball well (usually) and was able to recover from errant shots. Putting was solid, too. I ended up with a 44 and was feeling good about the back nine and breaking 90. Ha. Back nine, I had issues all over the place. Had some problems off the tee, skulled an iron, putting the ball in the water, etc. The wind had a bigger impact on my game on the back nine, too. Shot a 49 with one three putt and lots of strokes left out on the course. On the whole, though, the way I played encourages me—I’m feeling bullish on my chances of breaking 90 this year. I played with a guy that I know, but not well. He was a good playing partner and we plan to play again. As always, the game is way more fun when played with good folks. A nice way to start my Saturday.
