Undershooter
Not unless my game suddenly gets "the old steroid jerk" that Roy Mcavoy spoke of. I would love to try and qualify but I'm no where near good enough even if I'm to my normal 1ish hcp by summer. Good luck to those that are though! Would be good to have a forum member qualify. Kenny B
Wine Valley GC is about 30 miles away; great course! Unfortunately, the 1.4 HCP to qualify is a lot further away. “We don’t stop playing the game because we get old; we get old because we stop playing the game.”
mr_divots
That's pretty cool, home course got the nod. It's fun to play courses the day of certain events when they have them set up really tough and fast if you can. I'd like to see how they set it up. My home course is really fun when it's hosted MGA events. "Glute Activator" *Please accept my contributions of participation and intellectual property sharing as substitute for monetary renumeration. Zeasy
Played a few of these courses in college. La Purisima is the hardest course I have ever played. Narrow, long holes guarded by shin high, thick rough. 9 is a 227 yard par 3 with water left and O.B. 3 yards off the green on the right. The kicker? you have to hit a cut. A straight shot finds the water. 10 is a 465 yard par 4. The kicker? The green is as narrow at 10ft and guarded by a creek that runs the 75 yard length of the green. Mix this with torrential rain and sub 60 temperatures and you have the Kingsmen Invitational, a "reward" for a 3 seasons of hard work, thrust upon you after being coaxed into a false sense of relaxation with In-N-Out and Putt Putt. The scorecard of the hardest 7100 yard course in the states (because you can add 200 yards with back pins on a few key holes). Onion Creek in Austin can play tough too. Watched 3 guys 5 putt the last hole. One putted off the green twice.
D: 9* G400 Max w/Xcalibur TSL

F: 14* XR Pro 16 w/Hzrdous Red

I: SLS-01 4-SW w/Paderson SL

W: DGR 59 w/Dynamic Gold SL

P: Artisan 0318 or Edel TB

sp0rtsfan86
One thing I loved is my home course put on a yearly tournament. The conditions the first day (stroke qualifying for an 8 person match play bracket) were easy. Day two was the gauntlet. Day 3 was hell. I wish more courses did things like this. Jmikecpa
Played there once. Too long for me. Only chance I had is if they dropped me 60 feet from the pin every time. The Black gets all the hype and deservedly so, but the Red and the Blue are fine courses in and of themselves. The Red is 7,200 from the tips and plays every yard of it. And you and I have the same chance of qualifying there, especially if my wife has to carry my bag. Last time she did that I think she cost me at least two a side. Needless to say I have not had her on the bag for over a decade.
