I'm pretty sure you have one more requirement. Live in or be willing to move to New York. Sounds like a sweet deal, but out here in Wisconsin that commute would be terrible.

OK, I think my commute would be worse than from Wisconsin or MN.  Maybe I qualify on #1 and #2, but at my age I am well past meeting #3, the ability to learn.  :)

I know both their stores well and visit the often. I may be one of the few on the site close enough to get there but not sure I could sell the CEO at home on the career change.

Less than 100k?

My guess is well south of $100k. $100k per year translates to right around $48 an hour based on a 40 hour work week. Not sure you could function paying your staff at that level even if you get to that number through a blend of salary and sales commissions.

Trying to figure out how you could live in NYC for less than 100k. Actually in my case, I'm not sure I would live there for 5 times that. Denver is bad enough. I live in the mountains to get away from that mess already. It does sound like a cool job for someone who already is settled in there though.

The only way that you can would be if you are in a rent control building that makes the rent affordable by NY standards.

  • 1 month later...

Salesmen and fitters are not the place for gearheads.

Design engineers, tooling engineers, and process engineers are where we need gearhead golf nuts.

I am absolutely certain that the only way I could ever have a bag of clubs which exactly match what I want in my mind is to commission the actual tooling myself.

Golf to me has always been about playing with compromised equipment, and I've wasted a ton of money chasing a minimally acceptable bag  with mixed results at best.

Find a way to give the player EXACTLY what he/she wants. That would be the real breakthrough.
