I'm sending a bunch of clubs off today that are valued at about $400. This will get me my new shafts and a few other things.

Oh yeah i have a lot of clubs laying around I think I have been told in the past that I am the resident club ho of MGS. Most of my stuff is so old or oddball custom the value guide does not list it. But I do a lot of trading with some other like minded folks on WRX and some local guys. I do some business with a local guy here that is a PGA listed dealer. Last week I traded a newport Mil Spec I had laying around for an Adams Super S 5 wood I needed. I had absolutely nothing in the Newport I found it on the scrap pile at work and cleaned it up. I work for a metal recycling company find lots of stuff one would not believe some old some new. found a brand new Skor wedge one day traded it for a TM Ghost putter that I traded for my brand new in the box Titleist mini staff bag

I like to "horse trade" as we call it down here. It works out good. I get stuff I want to play and others get what they want. I am not in the public golf business any more and do not use my shop to make a living or even suppliment my income. It just supports my golf and club hoeing habits.

Thanks for that link. I didn't realize you could sell to them for cash. It may not be the value you could get selling directly. But a lot easier and the bonus helps a bit.

This post got me to thinking...

Instead of going to the hassle of selling my horde of old clubs for a few dollars I'm going to look into donating a few sets to a local golf program of some flavor. Even though my stuff is really only suitable for a teen player I'd feel much better getting these clubs into the hands of some kid that can't afford a decent set. To me that advances the game.

UPDATE: Well, the check finally came yesterday.

 

I got the bonus and ended up with $375.84 for my clubs. When I spoke to them a couple of weeks ago they said that because of the bonus they were inundated and running behind. I can understand that, fair enough.

 

But, don't tell me you sent the check on the 28th October and wait until 11th November to see if it turns up when you haven't sent the bloody check. The stamp on the envelope says it was sent 9th November, a full 12 days after it was "sent".

 

I'm happy I got the money, but please be aware that they will more than likely be extremely slow in their processing.

 

I'm expecting a phone call from them on Monday because of a message I left on Friday and will be explaining my displeasure to them, at length.
