    Happy thread

Daughter came in 9th at the CC final meet. I told her to keep the 4Wheeler in her sights.. she heard run with the 4Wheeler. Lead the girls for half of the race before running out of gas. So proud! Can’t wait for summer training for next year.

  3. UPDATE Driver: This club was a struggle for me from the outset because of the extreme draw bias of the club. There's 25g of internal weight in the heel and a 10g removable weight in the heel. Bridgestone sent me a 2g weight twice because the first one they sent managed to make a break from the envelope they sent it in. The second one they sent in an envelope inside a box, so their was no getting out of that package. I bunged the 2g weight in and was still hooking the driver, so I put 4g of lead tape on the toe and that helped somewhat, but I still had a bit of a hook with it. I put another 2g of lead on the toe and it was a bit better but there was still something missing. So this weekend I took the midsize Pure DTX (I asked for midsize from Bridgestone but it seems they sent my clubs with standard grips) off my Mizuno and put it on the TBJGR, tweaked my swing a little bit, took 2g of lead off the toe and I was hitting it either straight or with a slight draw. If you suffer from a really bad slice, this would be a driver to look at but, if you hit a straight or draw ball, I couldn't recommend it. As it is now, it's hanging onto my bag by the skin of it's teeth and may not see next season. 3 Wood: The 3 wood, in my opinion, is as good as my JPX_EZ. It's great off the tee and pretty easy to hit off the deck with my average being 211 yards vs 203 with the Mizuno. This club fought it's way into my bag and it won't be going anywhere soon. I also swapped the grip with a Pure DTX and it's just awesome to hit this club. Hybrids: I'll be honest and say that I wasn't too keen on the hybrids because of my past experience with "wood" shaped ones and my preference for "iron" type hybrids. I was pleasantly surprised when I hit these as they were quite easy out of different lies and I was getting a very nice increase in distance. Imagine my surprise when the first time hittingthese on the course I hit my 4H 206 yards, although my average is quite a bit less than that, compared to my Maltby 4H I'm averaging 12 yards longer with the TBJGR. So, both the 3 and 4 are sticking around but I need to work more with the 3 because I'm nowhere near as confident with it as I am with the 4. There you have it, Bridgestone have done a very good job with these clubs, although the driver could have been better without so much weight in the heel. They'll be hanging around my bag for the foreseeable, which is a surprise, as I didn't think anything would kick the Mizunos out . Thanks again MGS and Bridgestone for the opportunity to test and review my new weapons.

  15. Good stuff Matt. I wouldn't say I struggled with a big slice. But 90% of my drives tend to be a solid 5 to 10 yard fade. The draw bias in this driver is perfect for me. It has turned my drives into either straight or a very slight draw. In either case it has worked out putting me in very good position off the tee. 16. Played my tail off yesterday for a personal best 84!!! That still was not good enough to win the most skins, but damn was it nice to have a great day where most everything came together! 1 bird and tons or pars and a couple of doubles. Not a perfect performance with the occasional skull-job and duff, but I recovered nicely from those and had several GIR's. Starting to really like these new iron shafts a whole lot.

    How'd you play?

My wife and I played the front 9 today. Surprised she wanted to go out since she's not a fan of cold. Beautiful day - sunny, 52, little breeze. I didn't play well ended up with a 52. How does that happen after playing 45 on the same front 9 yesterday and it was colder. [emoji35] Sent from my iPad using MyGolfSpy

  19. Played my second round with the Cobras in the bag shot 53/50 for a 103. If it wasn't for having to hit from under trees and a five putt on a par 3, my score would have been better. I'm falling in love with the gap wedge, hit on to four feet from from the hole to give myself my only birdie for the day. I also used it to chip in from 20 feet. My iron play was great today, I even hit a few great 5 irons (I never do that). I couldn't get Arccos information today, they are still in the process of mapping my course. Still enjoying my clubs, and scratching my head as to why they aren't more popular. The guy at the local DSG said they don't carry them because they never sell any. It's a travesty in my book. When Fidel passed, I didn't have a dog for nearly a year. After a couple of quarterly exams that didn't go so well, my doctor asked me if I was doing anything differently. (Not my back doctor--my primary care.) I said no. I'm not doing anything differently. Something's got to be different, she insisted. I told her that other than my dog having passed, everything was the same. You've had a respectful mourning period, she said. Go out and find another dog right now! We brought home Molly when she was eight weeks old. She gnawed on me constantly with her sharp little milk teeth (what they call a dog's baby teeth) and I was always bleeding. She chewed through every spindle on our staircase. She ripped the zippers off all my hoodies and destroyed several pairs of shoes. She even found my upper denture and broke it into three pieces. (I found the pieces hidden in her bed.) She was driving me completely insane before her adult teeth came in. I thought that I was a nervous wreck. I went to my doctor's appointment and all my metrics were back to normal. How does that work?, I asked my doctor. I don't know --it just does, she said. True story

    Weight Loss Thread

Finally getting back to where I was before I left for Texas. I gained 15lbs while down there. Most of which I think was just water weight but it’s just been a busy few last weeks where I couldn’t get to the gym as much as I needed to sweat and work it off. Still worth every pound though. My goal is still 250s by the end of the year even with this gain

They've agreed to fill the lineups every week and are allowed to make moves and win games just like normal owners.

  40. Nifty, thanks for the info! I'm thinking about eventually adding a 4 iron to my set, mine was 5-GW. I went to the TGW website and found that I could order one and saw all the customization options. On the Cobra site, they are on back order. On A side note, I wish I had half your knowledge on this game and the equipment. That's what I love about this site, there's a lot of great people with solid advice. Cmon... that’s aggressive. Franklin is a PHENOMENAL players coach. Kids want to play with him. Yes coaches make bad decisions but doesn’t mean they should be fired. They still have a shot at Big Ten title game or Rose Bowl. That’s still equals a good year. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy

It was super wet today had ponds on the course where there never are ponds. Had a par 5 turned into a par 3 because there is ground water and standing water on most of it. And I stopped and even backed up a 4 iron from 195 out.
