  2. Appreciate it Mike and Revkev. I was doing what's on the current website and was shocked at first by how sore I was since most people here said they did not get much of a workout from it. I then did the math and realized I had increased from 39 swings to 93 swings. I am glad they are changing up the protocols then because I've had to do 2 days in between each session because of how sore I was. Sent from my SM-G950U using MyGolfSpy mobile app

    How'd you play?

Shot a 39/44:83 today using my garage stored 10 year old PowerBilt Air Force Ones, remember the ones that were nitrogen filled instead of using internal supports. I was “getting away” from 8 months of Arccos tech just to clear my head and Wow! They still have the punch. I putted horrible, having a 30’ shot at Eagle on a Par 5, ending with a Par. Missed three shots at Birdie, settling for Par or Bogey. That said, I set up the old clubs with Arccos 360 sensors tonight and will play them for a month to see what happens. 4. Went to True Spec and this will serve as my 6 month update: Grant, Thank you for coming into our studio this afternoon. I hope you enjoyed the experience of a True Spec iron fitting and felt like we identified beyond a shadow of a doubt your Cleveland Launcher HB irons were the best overall solution for what you're looking for at this stage in your game. While you originally had some concerns about the lie angles of your current irons, the GC Quad report (attached) show that you're consistently delivering a neutral lie angle at impact. Additionally, you were hoping to find a setup that was more forgiving, and while certain combinations changed the dynamics of the ball flight, I feel confident that the numbers you're producing are optimal for your swing signature. Sure, the Callaway Rogue Irons gave you 3 more mph of ball speed, but they also launched 4 degrees lower and had a whopping 8.5-9.0 degrees lower dynamic loft at impact. While they fly almost 10 yards farther, they are coming in so shallow (38-39 degrees) with about 600 rpm of spin less that you won't have any luck stopping the ball coming into the green. The best combination of forgiveness, launch, speed, and consistency was achieved using your Cleveland gamers. Best of all, you got them from MyGolfSpy!! I'm really interested to have you back and get fit for a Driver. The XXIO line is notoriously very easy to hit, so I'm up for the challenge of trying to beat it and find a more permanent solution for your tee ball. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to me. Bunch of new gear is coming out soon so next time you're in we should have some new toys! Thanks, SF True Spec Golf Shaun Fagan Master Club Fitter 413-454-2726 TrueSpecGolf.com The guys there were great and I would highly recommend them to anyone. I’m sure I will build a relationship with them as I round out other parts of my bag. I can provide monitor data if anyone is still paying attention to this thread. Sent from my iPad using MyGolfSpy

Given that it bumps us to 4 reps from 3 in each round it’s sort of like running the Belmont after the Kentucky Derby [emoji237] I realize that those doing the originals nap protocols make a bigger jump still to 5 reps at some point. That had to be a real shock to the system. I hammered the step backs dominant but wow we’re the non-dominant is new rough - which way do I go?[emoji15] Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy

  12. Not a scoring milestone, but .. hit most of the fairways in a 9-hole round and .. importantly for me .. that included a few solid shots with a driver (and - a rental set driver, no less)! Looking forward to reporting more good news as this season progresses.

  13. I doubt it. I think this is a equipment junkie thing. I just don't see your weekend joe buying a $200 shaft for his putter. He'd buy a new putter over a new shaft. Heck, weekend golfers mostly have stock regular shafts in their drivers, which they care about a lot more than putters. To them, Distance is king!

    How'd you play?

Got the first 9-hole round of 2019 in yesterday; wife and I were down in Florida for a long weekend (attended a 2-day clinic given by Teresa and Sue of Nancy Lopez Golf Adventures; off-topic but VERY HIGHLY recommended - especially for couples, eg. guys who want to get their wives some non-competitive/non-threatening yet super-high quality instruction). I'm feeling like this season is going to be a year of really good golfing progress! So even playing with basic rental clubs (Strata) I was hitting fairways and hitting most of my second and approach shots decently. Not awesome but all playable. Very few wasted shots. One fairway missed was a 6i into a dogleg right that I didn't hit "fully" and it faded a bit and brushed the tree on the inside of the dogleg and fell under it. Only other missed fairway was with driver - into the morning sun and all carry across water on a dogleg left- and I just i-dunno-what with the first shot and pulled it low-left right into the drink.... Re-tee'ed shot was not spot-on but pretty darn good into the fairway across the water. Had a few other solid driver tee shots so feeling good about playing that club this season. The two Par 3s I hit straight online but short both times. Chipping around the greens was ok; the rental set had a 56 vs the 54 or 58 I carry. Putting was decent but distance control on the first putts was not great. Can't really blame that one on the rental clubs, though! Overall looking forward to happy - and successful - golfing this year!

  15. Limped home to an 88 on Sunday and my handicap keeps trending higher as I kick out good scores from summer. I am finally trying to address my flipping & leaning back tendency on my downswing that leads to epic, hole-killing hooks, and the results just haven't been there yet. Early in the round my newer swing thoughts are working, but my setup/positioning is bad, for example I pured my 7 iron approach on the first hole but instead of my normal pronounced draw, this one started right of the target and just eased back a bit. A great ball flight that I would be ecstatic to use consistently, but missed the green because I aimed there, not trusting the new swing yet (and didn't get up & down). Then as the round goes on old tendencies come up and I start missing left again. #dreadedtwowaymiss GHIN has moved up from 5.7 this summer to trending 8.6. I need to fix this issue in 2019 because once I have kids the number of rounds I play will be dropping substantially and I'll have no hope, but man is it frustrating in the meantime...

    Australia golf courses?

Hello Mate's, I am from Michigan, USA and I am going to be traveling to Australia and New Zealand the 1st part of March for work. I would like to be able to get a round of golf in, I will be in Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide, then will be in Auckland, NZ. Can somebody recommend a nice decent priced course I could play? I would have to rent clubs also. I will be there for about 2 weeks. Thanks Sent from my SM-G965U using MyGolfSpy mobile app

  18. So I finally found a blade styled anser/ Newport putter that suits me well and it's the evnroll er 1.2 ,I played it one round and I just seemed to make more Birdie's with it than anything I had 3 Birdie's that were over 10 feet ,one was 20 that I usually miss or come close but then i made many par putts within that dreaded 5 ft range, now to my quest to make it black lol I played two rounds before u sent it off,lol So I've always gravitated towards the black putters at the stores, they just look better to my eye but the evnroll didn't come in black so being a I go all in guy I had to find a black finish that would not change the feel and last and not wear off, something like that cobra forged black dbm finish So I looked into black oxide, torching, Caswell blackener and they all have something I did not like about them whether it was too thick or wore off fast etc. I'm a watchsmith and I have done pvd and dlc coatings to make watches like panerai and quite a few Rolex subs/gmt look like tool watches, but back then pvd would wear easily which is the look that many of my customers wanted and it didn't change anything enough in the metal so I could put it back together easily but the dlc was much stronger but also thicker so tighter bezels in watches would not go back on so we didn't use it that much so i contacted the company and discussed options for my putter and I was wowed that they actually have a "layered dlc" that was stronger than what I've seen before which was really tough and it is also now thinner than what I've used in the past here is what I was told Layered DLC is as hard and even harder in some cases than natural diamond The dlc problems in the past was how it would stick to the metal but this problem was solved by the use of multilayer coating, it is also used alot in camshafts in high powered engines So I was like when can I send it to you, lol he said send it now and check it out I was like how much? He said just pay the shipping you have always been a good customer to us consider it a favor, but I had to do the other work which was removed the shaft and remove the paint fill So it began last week and I got it back today, it looks awesome,I will send after pictures when I take them later on Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk

    Flat Tires

There are probably a couple options you could try for your application. Slime is simply an emergency sealant that will stop small leaks as they occur. There are a few reasons why this would be a wasted effort on a push cart though. #1 The stuff available at Walmart is not what you want. You'd have to track down and purchase the bicycle specific Slime (not that it's actually hard to do. Just stop at your LBS or go online). #2 Slime tends to work best on tubeless tires. #3 Slime requires centrifugal force to form a good seal. The stop and go nature of a push cart coupled with a low RPM makes Slime relatively ineffective for this application. If you aren't concerned about making a mess, a good DIY solution is to fill your tires with spray foam. A quick Google search will lead you to some good tutorials, but basically you drill a small hole in the tire, and fill with a urethane foam. Another option, is to line the inside of the tire with some sort of heavy-duty material. It almost wouldn't matter what the material is either as long as the tire can still form a good bead on the rim and the material won't puncture the tube. Whatever you decide to experiment with, you're not worried about ride comfort necessarily so the door is pretty wide open. The only major concerns are weight, cost, and ease-of-use if/when you do need to replace the tire.

Good luck with the surgery (hopefully not surgerIES...)!! And do *ALL* the PT after! Hopefully you're well aware, but rushing to do too much too soon will leave you worse off (as I've learned first-hand .. and you cannot go back and re-do the surgery and start over!). Work on your putting with the good arm and that's it!

  33. Update on the game yesterday. I hooked it all day, then on the 17th tee box I asked my group what the hell am I doing. Two of the guys play fades all day every day, they were no help. The other guy plays a draw, he said “For me, when I start hooking I’m finishing flat, try to finish higher.” The next two drives where without a doubt the best drives of the day by far. When we finished I asked why he didn’t give me the advise earlier, he said “You didn’t ask, so I assumed you didn’t want any.” Point is it’s fixed the hooks, for now. And that’s why I like playing with those guys, they don’t offer unsolicited advise!! Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy

  35. The sun was out and forecast called for a high of 48...Bag it! Grabbed my gear and headed out right around noon. No warm-up, just straight out on the course. I suffered an 8 on #1 but settled in after some holes and kind of played my new usual mix of brilliance mixed in with WTF was I doing!!?? Back 9 had 2 lovely pars and a real good chance at a birdie on 17 that I wound up 3-putting..! Driver was not on my side most of the day, so I hit lots of 3w & 5w off the tee. Both iron & wedge play were a mix of 50/50. 48/43-91 which I am not unhappy about at all considering I haven't made any swings at all since very early in November.

    How'd you play?

I was content with my round yesterday, 43/39:82. The round included a quad and a double so all in all it wasn’t that bad. Those bad holes were the result of me trying to get a little extra out if a few iron shots.

Woo-hoo!!! We finally got some sun today, and it hit 70*, so I drove 45 min to go play 9 on a course that drains exceptionally well, Black Bear Golf Course in Delhi, LA. I shot 39 with one birdie. Putting held me back from 2 others... Mostly finding the line was the issue. I hit the GMax twice over 270 into the wind, so that was fun!!! How'd you play?

Got out today in 43 degrees after a day of rain. Sloppy wet mess, temporary greens in fairways but I was the only guy out there. I played 3 balls and here are my takeaways: ball compression doesn’t matter in cold weather and making all my wedges 36 inches long was a really good decision for me. How'd you play?

Played today - course was ridiculously wet for December. Weather was spectacular. After a brief discussion our group determined that we would leave the pin in. I will say that it didn’t take long to get used to it. I can’t say for certain but there’s a chance that I got big help from it and n my birdie putt on 18. Also I had great pace on my long putts all day. I attribute that to always having the pin it. Sometimes in the past I would forgo the tend - being able to see makes a big difference. Oh yeah, shot 76. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy

Maybe some. But not enough to be a deal killer IMO. Tires that don't deflate outweighs any rolling concerns.

Its pouring rain outside and the temperature is dropping in NJ. Hope they arrive before it really gets cold. Just wanted to keep the thread alive and promise to update once they arrive and I get a chance to use them.
