  1. Hey guys! Thanks for all the sweet words and suggestions. I am soooo excited to get started and have been looking to buy some of these for my birthday coming up. So the fact I was chosen is the best early birthday present! I am currently working my way up through the mini tours trying to make it to the LPGA. Right now my swing speed is at about 103mph. I am a very consistent driver player and am really excited to see if I could gain even more distance off the tee, allowing me to really hit some short clubs into the pins. Feel free to keep up with my journey on here and instagram! @alisarodriguezgolf Thanks again to MGS and SuperSpeed for selecting me! Please let me know if any of you have any questions.

    No Putts Given

Just an FYI, cnosil is a tester at the facility and is a source that knows what’s going-on... If he says something relative to MGS, testing, the facility, etc, it’s best not to doubt his word. Just an FYI.......

    How'd you play?

Finally got back out today after not playing since 3/22 (yeah, woe is me, but I don't pay Hawaii taxes to be taking a whole month off from golf!) and surprised myself. I thought it was going to be a lot worse than it was, but I ended up getting lucky a few times. Greens were somehow not filled in from whenever they were punched last. We've been on shelter in place orders since late March, so I'm not sure how these clowns ended up having such horrible greens, but I got to golf today so I'm going to stop being a little whiny b*tch! 39/42 for a lucky 81 4/14 FiR (2 of which were 4i's) 10/18 GiR 35 putts on bumpy greens I'll take it. Sprayed driver to the right literally ALL day, which is weird because my miss is usually left. Irons were mostly very thin, need to work on strike for sure.

  6. Well... let's just all bow out of this discussion just like the really weird folks at WRX did last fall. Everyone has made their points over and over again, ad nauseam. Nobody is right; everyone is wrong, but it really doesn't matter to the people that want to play golf instead of arguing about something that doesn't really matter. We all play what we like, and that usually means what allows us to play our best.

    How'd you play?

... What a day! After almost 6 months off I finally got to play a round of golf. Turned out much better than I would have thought. Figured it would either be ugly or really ugly but I shot 1 over and it was only a little ugly. Lots of ups and downs as I was missing greens or leaving myself 30+ footers and very few legit chances at birdie. I rolled in a 35 footer that had a good deal of break and it just fell in the side. But I was just trying too make solid contact on the front 9 and shot 1 under. Started feeling more comfortable on the back 9 and got too cute with a couple of front pin downwind I took just enough club to land short or just on and the ball plugged short both times. Did not hit either super solid so that few yards of less carry really cost me. I should have taken more club and had 20 footers coming back. ... It just felt awesome too get out again and I almost had the place to myself. With only 2 somes allowed and tee times 15 minutes apart, I figured it would be packed. I had a 1:45 and arrived at 1:35 and was surprised to see nobody on the first 3 holes. Starter said your partner isn't here so go ahead and tee off. Didn't catch anyone til #12 and a dad and his son waived me thru. After since there has been NO GOLF in Illinois since last fall, a nice day in the mid 60's I was shocked to see it so empty. I have a 2:45 tomorrow and imagine Saturday will be full, but we shall see.

75 (par 73) Friday 8/14 Fir 12/18 Gir 30 putts Windy!! 20+ all day. Hit much better than I scored. 3 short game errors and one drive that I think is still sailing OB right. Overall was very happy, even leaving as many shots as I did out there. 69 7/14 Fir 12/18 Gir 27 putts. Hit it well again and the short game was better. Probably one of the best days I have ever had stroking the putter. Every putt but 1 was hit where I wanted it with the speed I wanted it.

Dang 80 again today. My GIR is horrendous, and when I do hit greens, I’m a mile away from the hole. Had a chance at birdie from 10 feet on 18 today, lipped out. I’m close!

Wrong. I do putt with my eyes over the ball and with a slightly open stance. I'm a good putter. I also pay play regularly with a friend who has a most unusual putting style - eyes everywhere but over the ball. I don't even like watching him setup and such. But... he's a great putter. Like most of us know.... nothing matters except that split-second moment of truth with each stroke and with any club.

    How'd you play?

Played 9 holes last Saturday and another 9 yesterday. Just a bit off with the game right now. Tried to hit the range this week to get more reps and really was hitting them decently. Losing confidence in my tee balls and some approaches while on the course. On the plus side, my chipping/pitching and putting were pretty good. Counting back through, I was able to come up with a 43/42, so not great, but not as bad as I initially thought in my head. Hope to get back out there soon and get back into the 70's.

  17. So my MUCH too-early impression of the ball is that it is 1. Definitely a better ball for me and that is due to... 2. It spins more on every shot Typical Hawaiian afternoon with ~10-15 MPH trades and the ball sliced through the air when it was in my face, and at the same time felt "heavy" in crosswinds. I can stop this ball so much easier around the greens vs. the BX that v-fit put me in. Which circles back to what I had to say about it in my review: it's cool that they can extrapolate that data from your video submission, but it's mostly useless from a fitting perspective. You can tell me what ball fits my driver all day, I'm still going to prefer something that fits my wedges over it as a gamer. I'm eternally grateful to Bridgestone's V-fit, or should I say their marketing team, for putting me in that AD with Tiger for .005 seconds -- but other than that V-fit is... *fart noise* It's soft without feeling marshmallow-y and firm without being clicky. From a feel perspective, it's probably as good as it can get for me. My striking was horrible today after being on the bench for a little over a month and I was thinning a lot of shots but totally getting away with it. THIS ball could definitely give the V1x a run for its money for a spot in my bag. Wish I had gotten these in the test, but at least I was able to spread the rest of my B X test packs to @jlukes and @THEZIPR23 who ended up gaming them!

If you are raising the grip then the putter isn't correctly fit. You can be eyes over the ball and not be hunched over. 100% incorrect statement. It may be what works for you. Eyes over the ball is a choice you make and if you look at "good" putters you will see they have different postures, ball placements, and eye position.

If you thing they are done, just go look at the numbers for the past 5 years. They have not done the test if you want actual comparative data; over the past five years protocols, evaluation methodologies and the testers have all changed.

    Funny story

We were at his lunch - not mine, his guest fee is about the same as Bayou’s cart fee, he lives off the 14th green and grabs me a beer and it’s a cheaper day for both of us. There are false fronts on many of the greens at Saint Pete Country club so front pins are brutal as the greens slope back to front - you have to play to the middle and trust your putting with a front pin - and learn how to bump and run the ball when you miss short. 21. I understand what you are saying and what you are saying is correct. The point of my original post was that counterbalance does not have to be above the hands with a longer shaft. extending the shaft adds weight on the other side of the fulcrum. This means I can put a lighter weight in the end vs a heavier weight in a shorter shaft. You are now getting into swingweight which is influenced by the weight above and below the balance point of the putter. As for the "feel", some people prefer to feel the weight in the head of the putter because they try to swing the head of the putter. Others, like you describe, want to feel their hands move the putter so putting more weight near their hands provides that feel. Also, swingweight is a static measurement that can be influenced in a lot of ways; what it doesn't take into account is total weight, both of those influence the feel and how the player responds with the club in their hands. There is a lot more to weighting putters and golf clubs; for example I can give you a putter swingweighted at E2 that weights 2 pounds and one at D2 that weights 100 pounds, the lower swingweight putter won't feel lighter to swing.

Wow was it great to get out yesterday in Illinois. Played a quick 9 holes with my father in the morning and then 9 holes in the evening with my fiance. It was a beautiful morning with my dad, temperature was just right. Shot a 40 on the first 90; started out slow with bogeys on 1 and 2 and then was able to string some pars together. On the second 9 shot 41 but was able to birdie the 8th hole and had a couple other good looks. It was so nice to get out! #GolfIsBack

  24. First, as a disclaimer, I don't have an air compressor or access to one so I use the 'wet' method. Replacing grips is a fun thing to do especially if the weather isn't conducive for golf. I'm also a big fan of using the alignment aid on the grips, especially since I use a strong grip. Doing the grips at home allows me to orient the alignment aid to my hand position for my strong grip. My 'wet' setup is cheap and easy. I bought a small vise from Harbor Freight for $20. , a shaft clamp for 2.50 from Golfworks and the pan from Walmart for $2.00 to catch the grip solvent. Pictures below of the setup. Note you can get a 'grip supply kit' from Golfworks or Golf Galaxy for $8. that includes, solvent and tape to do 8 grips. I would assume that regardless of whether you do air or wet, you'll still need the vise and shaft clamp. BTW get a Golfworks catalog you'll find everything you need there plus a whole lot more.

  31. Nike marketed it as the Counter Flex system. And I agree with your assertion that it's amazing. This one is a shade under 38" and I am currently trying to get it dialed in as an Armlock gamer (thumbing my nose at the former Nike Oven brain trust). My personal take on the counter weighting game: Adding mass to the handle, be it traditional or protracted in length, affects stroke awareness. And innately encourages (in theory) people with certain tendencies, to swing the entire putter on the same arc. Opposed to inadvertently incorporating additional wrist coil and release, relative to their shoulder motion. In other words, a simpler modern stroke to help limit the liability of modern green speeds.

  33. An old woman goes to a pet store to buy a parrot. Everything is fine until she brings it home. It begins to swear uncontrollably. F this, F that, F you and finally the lady can stand it no more. She grabs the bird, shoves it in the freezer, and slams the door shut. Squawking, shrieking, pounding, and cursing come out of the freezer for a few moments and then it goes quiet. The woman is scared that she has hurt the bird and opens the freezer. The parrot walks calmly out and steps gently onto the woman's outstretched hand. He looks into the lady's eyes and says "Ma'am, I am truly sorry if my language offended you and it will not recur. If I may ask, what did the chicken do?"

  39. My wife is a workout fanatic and also has soreness and sometimes pain due to problems with her back and her wrist, so she's all about making sure you have the right equipment to stay relatively pain free. Odds are I'll keep the Specialized and let my son ride it since trade-in is only around $50 and it's got brand new tires & tubes. I do have a local shop 2 blocks from my office, right off one of the major Rhode Island mixed use paths. I have to go to work at least one day this week anyways to get some graphics work done that I can't do from home, so I may mask up and take a walk over as last I heard, they're still open. My brother just got fit down in Arkansas and was shocked at the bike he was fit into, it would never have even been a size he would have considered if he hadn't been fit. He's been riding the past month with zero issues and loving it.

  41. It may sound weird to some younger players, but when I started to play, we didn't have anything other than "bladed" irons. And all those blades did was sting my hands when I hit a shot off-center. My improvement in ball-striking over the years has come along at the same time as I have bought clubs with more game improvement features. It has also come at the same time as I've taken lessons and increased my practice time. I can't prove which of those factors has caused the improvement, maybe not either one, but I am comfortable that I didn't just buy some game with different (and slightly more forgiving) clubs.

My 4h was magic, but then year I cant find consistent magic. I think its my set uo and ball placement. I did hit a Titleist MB driving iron the shop was selling. Didnt love it or hate it. Just not really sure of the point of the club really with the exception of maybe keeping sonething low and out of the wind. I caught myself leaking things right mid bucket and had to evalate what was going on. Then I remembered to tel myself to "swing the damn club". Problem solved.

  44. My nemesis hole is #18 at my course Columbia Point GC. It's not a long hole; a 515y par 5 dogleg left that typically plays into a slight R to L wind usually 10-20 mph. Here is an aerial overhead of the course and #18 is outlined by the square. At the dogleg is a big f....ng tree shown in the red circle. Big hitters can easily get past the tree if they drive the ball straight, but the fairway runs out to water or sand. Then it's a 175-200 yard shot over sand and water to the green to get there in two. I don't have that shot! LOL. My problem is that I can't drive the ball far enough to get a good look around the tree. Here is a closeup view of the hole from Google Earth with 100, 150 and 200 yards from the green shown in red.. Sorry for the poor resolution. It is very narrow at 150 yards!!! Right of the fairway is No Good; in grass mounds on a downslope. If I'm in the fairway, I'm about even with the first fairway bunker. The angle for my second shot is not good to get the ball in the fairway. I can either go over, under or draw the ball around the tree. I've tried them all. Any shot that leaks to the right will be in the 150y long fairway bunker... or worse! The fairway also slopes a little L to R, so if my ball lands in the fairway and has any cut spin, it has a chance to roll into the bunker. Here is a view of my usual second shot; anything to the right of the branches is definitely in the bunker. Hit the branches and it's probably in the sand with a high lip to the green. This is a difficult hole for me. I don't hit draws very consistently, and I don't hit high shots very well either. Depending on where I am in relation to that tree, I can get a mid-iron over the tree. I can also hit a low punch shot under the overhanging branches with some success. As an alternative if I hit a poor tee shot of if the wind is particularly strong, I have laid up short of the water and long bunker which leaves a 160-170y shot to the green. That approach works because when I get to the dogleg, the shot is mostly downwind. However, I seem to always end up short of the green in the bunker. This is probably the only hole on the course where moving up to the "senior" tees makes a difference for me. I still can't hit the ball far enough for a chance at the green in two, but I would have a straight shot down the fairway. A good second shot could get me far enough that I don't have to go over sand for my third shot.

  45. Hole 15 at Lakeridge in Reno Nevada. 220 yards from the tips, about 150 feet down to an island green. This hole takes more club than you would think. It took a few rounds of me hitting 6 irons that looked great until they splashed down 20 yards short to realize that for me, this is a 5 iron all day. The best shot here is one that looks like it's going long. The green is huge and flat and offers a great opportunity for birdie if you can get it close!

  47. Here is my list... Always perform their dynamic warmup in the order they give it. It's part of the protocol. Don't skip it!! Try to set up a routine; same time of day, same place. Don't make it easy to skip! 3 times a week is tough but stick with it. I liked mornings. Hopefully, you have a place that is out of the weather. I had to do my protocol outside in the fall and winter, which made it too easy to say "I'll skip today." You guys are lucky to do this when it's warm. If you HAVE to play golf, try to do the protocol at least an hour before playing. My experience... don't do it after golf. My memory is not that good. I had to write down speeds, so having a place to easily do that is helpful. Use a radar device to track speed; critical because what you feel is not reality. Find the maximum range that the radar picks up the speed. I did not have to swing very close to the unit which reduces the possibility of an "accident". The SuperSpeed pad for kneeling is great! Not sure if you are getting it, but a good pad is necessary. Probably can get it cheaper, but it should be firm, yet soft on the knees. Follow Daisy's advice.

    How'd you play?

Hadnt seen my daugter is 2 months thanks to this virus. Took a drive early this morning to Eugene and played Laurelwood. Built in the 20s and was 18, but they took 9 out and it is city owned but ran by independent. I played 9 and daughter joined me at the turn to walk with me onthe 2nd 9. Course has walking paths throughout so people. joggers, and dogs are common. Hole #1 is a 609 yard par 5 from the tip. Its downhil dogleg left. but goes to a smaller elevated green. Fun hole. The whole course is fun but hilly. Very hilly. Still some wet places off the fairway so it was easy to lose a ball because of plugging and amongst the heavy grass clippings. Fairways were mostly nice and the greens were very smooth and very tricky but a little slow. If they had speed to them they would be very diffcult. I played well but didnt keep a score as I lost a few balls due to pluggng or in the heavy grass as they cant get a mower on it. Tough play first time around with quite a few blind shots. Afterwards we found a burger and headed to the park fir lunch. It was a great day.

  49. Ahhhh! I’m so amped to be a tester for this! I’ve been seeing these products for a while and have always been interested in trying them. I’ve always been one that struggled with a lot of distance for my age, for a number of reasons, one being swing speed. In the past year, I’ve gained a ton Of distance just by getting fitted and working on swing sequencing but I still lack a little bit of speed. I’m really happy with the strides I’ve made in regards to distance and I feel it is now adequate for a serious golfer but by doing this program I’m excited to put it over the top. I’m looking forward to getting more comfortable with higher swing speeds and by doing so gaining more effortless distance. Thank you MyGolfSpy and SuperSpeed golf for choosing me to work with this product. Let’s get swinging!

I've only ever had lessons from right handed golfers so it's been easy to do the imitation/mirror trick. I've appreciated having the points of reference to look up and watch. For video, I want to see a lefty swing. I had one lesson where the instructor flipped the video of Jordan Spieth and that was really helpful in understanding what he was trying to get me to accomplish.
