Almost finished building myself a new smoker, will get it done tomorrow before seasoning it and hopefully getting some ribs cooked. Sunday morning Monday afternoon Really happy with how how it looks, and hoping it cooks as good as it looks.

    How'd you play?

Well they can't all be decent rounds! Snuck out last night for a quick 9 and then again this afternoon for 18 and proceeded to forget how to swing. 47 last night followed by 51/45 today. I had a 2-way miss going with every club including my putter. 1 had 43 putts today and that includes a bladed wedge that managed to hit the stick and go in! From the first swing last night everything felt wrong, Stance, Backswing, Downswing, and follow through were all out of whack. The best part of the day may have been the migraine that started on the 2nd hole! [emoji856][emoji3517][emoji107] Sent from my Moto Z3 Play using MyGolfSpy mobile app

    How'd you play?

74 (par 73) 10/14 fir 10/18 gir 32 putts. Kept the score reasonable with a decent short game. No idea how far my new irons go. 3 times I hit wrong club equaling 3 bogeys. 2 long and 1 short. It was blowing 15+ though. Pretty tough to play in with clubs 2 days old.

    How'd you play?

    - 38/45 = 83 (+11) - 7/15 FIR - 5/18 GIR (1 birdie) - 31 Putts (2 3-putts , 9 2-putts, 7 1-putts) - 2:45 Round Time This goes down as one of my better rounds ever, and probably my best ball striking round of my life. I struck the ball extremely well on the front with most every club and really only had one or two awful shots. Went to the course with a few new swing thoughts and they really helped. Back nine didn't go as well, still struck the ball well, but got a little hooky and had two shots sail OB left that hurt my score. I started to get tired near the end again, and ended up shanking an approach on No. 16 and topping a drive on No. 18. Remove those two penalties and wasted shots and I had a legitimate chance to break 80. Driver still isn't good at all, but the irons are coming along nicely now. My balance is all out of whack with the driver, and I need to figure out how to not end up with my weight falling forward in my downswing. It's causing all my drives to be off the heel, the good ones being OK cuts or baby fades and the awful ones being low-left spinners.

Horrible golf weekend, just could not chip. Wasn’t striking the ball well. My right knee was giving me issues, wore a brace to get by. Friday shot44/49:93, Saturday Shot 43/48:91 and Sunday 39/50:89. The back nine simply killed me this weekend. On Sunday, after a 39 on the front I had 5 straight doubles on the back! A new record for sure. Combination of my knee and heat? Gotta work on it. Traveling on Tuesday to Tarpon Springs to play Wentworth. Have 9 of us so we will probably play the game 1, 2, 3. Where you play threesome and take one score on the first hole, 2 on the second and all 3 on the third, then repeat. Puts pressure on the 3rd hole. Sent from my iPad using MyGolfSpy

    How'd you play?

Spent the day in Cleveland with my son and DIL, got home just in time for my wife and I to grab the last tee time at 6:10 to play 9. My driver and wedges were on fire (at least for me). Ended up with a personal best of 41. When GHIN combined that with another 9 hole round I had booked (43). That gave me a combined score of 84! Also a personal best. Wish I could get a "broke 85" tag. 7. Learned a hard lesson today. When my husband points and tells me "that's your ball" down in that fluffy grass, I better check instead of blindly trusting. So I hit the wrong ball resulting in a penalty that kept me from breaking 90 a second time. Same type situation happened to me when I first started playing and I have always checked until it was my husband. Note to self - ONLY trust myself to identify my ball.

    How'd you play?

Case in point... I had one birdie and shot 88 today. Fortunately, my wife had a not-so-good round and shot 91 otherwise she would have beat me. That hasn't happened since before I had my knee replaced 6 years ago. She would have if she hadn't taken a quad on #18. She needs bunker work.

  9. Spoiler alert! If you are looking for a magic wand to turn your terrible swings into amazing results, you may want to look elsewhere. I put every imaginable bad swing on these over the last 27 holes and I can honestly say that a bad swing still produces a bad shot! [emoji1787] Ok now that that is out of the way let me explain my poor attempt at humor. It is far too early to say these are forgiving or not or anything else for that matter. I just wanted to make sure that in case someone reading this review thread wasn't aware that no club will fix their swing flaws, they do now! Sent from my Moto Z3 Play using MyGolfSpy mobile app

  10. Played 18 this morning and figured things out with the driver about 1/3 of the way through the round. And I absolutely started pounding the ball. Week 2 is a compete and rather than posting the same spreadsheet week to week I thought I'd mix things up. I really was hitting my 3 wood and hybrid well today and when I got home I took some swings on the launch monitor to confirm what I was seeing on the course. I play a 21* head, lofted down to 20* and 1/4 of an inch shorter than the standard 3 hybrid. Typical carry has always been about 225 to 230. Not anymore And my Ping G410 LST 3 Wood that carries about 244-248 off the deck?

  11. Here's Kyle's response to the 'added weight' question - I'm going to stick with the current configuration: "Hi Tony, our red club is actually only 336 grams total which is the heaviest in the men’s set. I’d like you to stick with the way the set is designed that you have currently. If you add any further weight there is a very high chance that you’ll actually train your swing to be slower. The key in OverSpeed training is light weight to reset how fast the brain tells the body to make the golf swing. I’ve seen over 50,000 golfers use this system so I’m going off of the experience I have here to get you the best results. I appreciate your willingness to want to get this right"

Just finished the terrace just in time for summer, now have to do the concrete support on the right side, fill the void with fresh soil, get rid of the bushes on the property line and plant a beech hedge. And obviously, I'm not gonna waste my precious golfing time mawing the lawn, so I'll set-up this bad boy as well:

1st round since the 6th as I let my twilight membership expire as the course is just too busy for my liking. Spending my days at the range teying to fix my pull. Shot +3 with no birdies, 1 bogey, and a double. The double was the result of a pulled 8i that left me with an impossible pitch to the green. Left a 3 foot birdie putt and a couple 10 footers out there. Guess I shoudve been practicing some putting.

  23. I played my first round with a member of the forum today and it was a blast! Back around the beginning of April, David a.k.a. @KillerGees contacted me noting we live in the same area and asked if we could meet up sometime and play. He brought Jesse, a friend from work to my local course. They're great guys and we had a good time. We're going to get together again around July once his course finishes the repairs on their greens. I shot 48/47 for a 95 hitting 6 fairways and zero greens. My short game was on fire with Arccos recording 4 chip and downs and 32 putts. I had to do something to make up for my abysmal approach game . We walked the course, the first time I've ever walked 18 holes and I'm just glad the course had a push cart I could use, even if one of the back tires was about to come off and wobbled the whole time. I'm going to be sore in the morning, but I actually enjoyed walking as I feel it slowed me down and helped with the focus. Except when I was gasping for breath. This is what the forum is all about, it's not only getting to talk to great folks online but getting to meet and golf with another member is awesome.

Played RTJ Grand National Lakes Course today. 82 (44/38) 2 birdies/9 pars 9/14 FH and 9/18 GIR with 33 putts. Hole of the round: 500 yard par 5: solid drive slight downhill leaving me with 205 to the hole. I flushed my 5 iron to about 15 feet right on the fringe. Eagle putt hit the pin and rattled out leaving a tap in birdie. Chipping around the green was off today as I had 3 holes with 2 chips on it. Overall, happy with results, trying to stay consistently low/breaking 80 is the challenge.

    How'd you play?

Played early 9 in a slight steady drizzle. Not enough to stop play but just enough to be miserable. Birdie 1st hole so knew I was in trouble, always turns bad after an opening bird. Finished 4 damp over with a downpour for the ride home, swell. Can’t complain we really need the rain. Lawns are burning up like an overdone hotdog on 4th July. Try again tomorrow, more rain in forecast. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy

  27. Sooo I got a hard “no” from my wife on swinging in the house... to be fair, I have broken a light fixture on more than one occasion from swinging inside, so there is that. LOl She tried to speak to my ego though. She said, “You know you won’t be able to swing as fast and hard as you really can inside vs outside.” Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy

Cooked this yesterday. Poor man's burnt ends and cabbage pancake. It's almost identical to German potato pancakes but you use cabbage and some bacon instead of shredded potatoes.

  30. Back to the weight thing - I never bothered to weigh my driver because there’s a club’s actual weight and it’s swing weight. I doubt my ability to successfully find my driver’s actual weight and trust that it’s swing weight is D4. Ay least it was when my fitter checked it for me pre COVID. Kenny and I went back and forth on this quite a bit. I love the guy but we are wired differently - the weight thing never bothered me. On a similar note though my 410 feels lighter to me than my G400 LST did. I actually wonder if I wouldn’t benefit from the yellow stick. The grass always seems greener you know. 31. I'm afraid of changing out my 410 SFT driver. It's the straightest stick I've ever owned. I'm even afraid to change the loft settings on it. My current GHIN stats show I hit the fairway 73% of the time and generally it's right down the middle. Any misses are generally draws - which works for me because our course favors right handed players.

Played a local course today, par 70, very short track. Shot a 72, but it was one of those days that you just know you could’ve done better. Stretch of 5-6 holes that wedges were just lasers for the pin, nothing more than 15 feet away. Kinda got away from me at the end with some sloppy swings.

Played The Golf Club of California today, which is a beast of a track. Course rating and slope are 74.0/139. It was nice to play a new course, but overall it was just 'meh' so I don't plan on going back. 91 (47/44, 90 ESC) - 1 birdie, 4 pars, 8 bogeys, 4 doubles and 1 quad. Yikes. FIR 4/14 (29%) - The course had some tight tee shots, which did not mix well with my unfortunate tendency to get wild off the tee. Ironically enough, I scored better on the back with 4 lost balls. Crazy. GIR 3/18 (17%) - Hard to get GIRs when you're not hitting full shots into greens due to wild tee shots! 28 putts with 9 one putts and 1 three putt. SG putting -1.950. My putting kept my score from being a lot higher, and I was pretty confident on the greens all day. By far the biggest positive on the round! This was a blind shot from 159. Easily the highlight of my round! The courses signature hole, a 188 yard par 3 with a bunker in the green! The beastly closing par 3!

Last will be the windows (same as stairs need to glue ceiling grid in so it has a finished look).

  44. Just a little week 2 update. I saw a nice little jump in my initial swing speed! Week 1, my initial swing speed was in the ball park of 100-103. Week 2, my initial swing speed each day was 108. My regiment speeds and after regiment speeds stayed about the same, but definitely an increase in before speed.
