Popular Post hckymeyer
Been a while since I've been able to participate in this thread, but due to some swing speed gains from The Stack system it was time for some upgrades. Went from from S to X in the driver shaft and got a new Ventus black for the driver. Then I also wanted to swap iron shafts, and it just seemed like a perfect excuse for new heads too. Found a great deal on some Srixon ZX 5's and went with the Modus 3 125 shafts I play now but in X flex. Topped them off with some PURE grips and BB&F ferrules. Popular Post SMartin
Super excited about a new set of clubs I picked up on Facebook Marketplace. Made friends with a local reseller and plan to keep him in my back pocket for small needs here and there. Anyway, grabbed a set of Mizuno JPX 900 HM irons with R Flex Steel Shafts, JPX 923 GW, and Ping Sigma G Tyne putter. Huge upgrade from my ‘83 Titleist Accuflo Plus irons. At the range today noticed a significant improvement in distance and consistency. Putter was butter. Lastly, grabbed CBX Zipcore SW that has been the easiest wedge I have ever put in my hands. It is almost idiot proof how forgiving it is. This group of clubs should easily make me a solid mid-handicapper. Can’t wait to hit the links with these. Wonder if I should put my hat in on some local tournaments? Popular Post KOG
My latest project came to a finish today. The Sizemore SB Putter head I obtained is fully assembled and a few rounds on it. I came across this UST Frequency Filtered Putter shaft that is supposed to enhance feel and figured Id try it for the $40 https://www.yourprogolfshop.com/ust-mamiya-frequency-filtered-putter-shaft Slight difference, not significant as I was using a DG s300 shaft and the putter felt nice with that, but when you hit it in the sweet spot of the putter with the UST shaft, it feels amazing. I guess it does work as far as more precise feedback. Grabbed a SS Pistol grip from golfworks because it had no white spot on it which annoys me about Superstroke putter grips. And while I was at it, I grabbed a 75G putter SS counterweight to go with it. Overall, Im loving the Sizemore putter and I found the biggest improvement was adding that 75g counterweight really steadied my stoke. If you havent tried it, def worth the $10 to give it a go And the second new thing is this 2nd Gen PXG hybrid... I always liked the look of this guy and have been trying to find a 5 hybrid to knock my beaten up Exotics exs220 out the bag. I played it today and I gotta say, I think this one will be in the bag. Shaft I used is a Prolaunch red I had on an Adams hybrid, repurposed. Got the head and nice magnetic HC for $45. It’s shiny, too.* I’ll have to update my WITB post. *I’m not completely unhinged. I did test it a couple years ago in a golf shop and fell in love with it, but I wasn’t about to pay full price for it. I have yet to hit them, but the reviews are good! ^^^^^^^^ +++ on this!! I have never been a fan of Callaway balls, but after attending a ball fitting, I am sold. Even a slow swinger like me picked up a large amount of ball speed!! jbern, Guest-0, berkeleybob and 3 others 5
Popular Post Rob Person
A company I used months ago to aquire a large hitting net, messaged me 2 days ago for their chipping net. It came in today and is so lightweight and easy to setup. Came with everything you need. 2 different chippy mats, 6 golf balls and 6 foam balls I probably won't use it inside, but it's perfect for settimg up almost anywhere. 20240312_184422.mp4 ejgaudette, ZackS, BreakfastBall15 and 8 others 7 4 Quote WITB-Foremost 551's - 3w, 5w, 5-SW (circa 1998), Top Flite 460cc Driver, Adam's 7w, Warrior GW and 60⁰, Odyssey AI-One DB putter. Got them with KBS $ lite 100’s in them! On the sim they were excellent now the real test Friday! berkeleybob, William P, BreakfastBall15 and 10 others 9 4 Quote I’ve got a bad reeling about this
