PDIDDYMARSH
I am literally obsessed with looking at stuff at the moment, bought a tee bag, new ball marker and pitch repair tools, looking at putters and wedges at the moment, back of my mind I keep wanting to buy the G410 3 wood and 5 wood just because of how much I like hitting them. Javs
This article on the robot test with 3 woods is what I have personally experienced. The PXG Black Ops 3 wood I put in the bag with the Hzrdus Smoke Yellow X-Stiif 6.5 shaft has been outstanding. While I did not really gain any distance over the Gen 5, 3 wood the dispersion is superior. I don’t have any real big misses with this club. I can work it both ways and hit it dead straight. The ball jumps off the club and I can really go after it without fear. Popular Post GolfSpy SAM
So, I've been on the hunt for a 3/5 wood option to fill out the top of my bag. From a fitting (and then several subsequent trips into big-box stores) last year, I know I prefer the shallow-faced look at address, as well as the ease of launching. Managed to snag both a 3 and a 5-wood with the HZRDUS Smoke iM10 (mid), with a 10% coupon AND I $150(ish) worth of trade in (a Cobra Speedzone driver and a Cobra King Tec Utility (2 iron)), which means my grand total was almost exactly $150, including taxes. So...I feel like I kind of got away with something SUPER excited to get these out onto the course/range, and improve that side of my bag - the "Warrior" clubs I got scammed into many moons ago are just not cutting it I'll post some photos once these bad boys arrive Wib081, Rob Person, ejgaudette and 12 others 7 8 Quote Driver - PXG 0811 XF - Gen 5, 9 degrees (+1 setting), Oban Devotion TR 65 04 3/5 Wood - Cobra LTDx Max (Blue Colorway) Utility - Caley X01 Driving Iron (3 = 18*) Irons (5-PW) - Caley 01T Wedges (48, 52, 56, 60) - Indi Wedges FLX 48 / ATK 52, 56, 60 Putter - L.A.B. Erin B
I bought a fitting at Collindale in Fort Collins CO. Ping has the fitter as the fitter of the year so I am excited to see where I am at and if all the other fitters I've seen over the years are in line with what this fitter comes up with. Popular Post Syks7
I threw a a random Tour velvet jumbo on my practice 8 iron and loved it so ventured into Roger Dunn to get some grips to do a full iron swap out. Leaving my wedges as is for feel purposes. I should mention that I was wearing flip flops specifically because I didn't want to test anything... but while I was there.... Long story short I did some barefoot testing. I found a gen 4 PXG 0311XF 3 wood for $99. The 0211 I currently have is easy to hit, but like the 0211 driver doesn't have much go. Too spinny I think? Because of this it's basically dead weight since it's distance total is not much more than a well struck 18 degree hybrid I already have in the bag. After a bit of tweaking and a borrowed tensei blue (from a gen 6) I saw the numbers I was hoping for across multiple swings and pulled the trigger. It seemed to be as easy to hit as the 0211 with more get up and go (along with more adjustability.). I turned it down to 14.5° and mated it to a tensei CK orange I have which should send it a little beyond the yardage I'm hoping for. We'll see whether it performs out on the course.
