I've been buying shafts, grips and other components to rebuild my set. Reshafted my driver and it feels great. I still don't hit it all that well, but that's on me. I am getting a few more yards with it when I do hit it straight.

Recently picked up a Osyssey Works #1 Versa.  I've been watching many of my senior buddies putting better since going back to a blade type putter  Hell two of my friends have the old Ping blades and are among the most consistent putters we have.  I find that odd since the mallets have more forgiveness built in or at least that's what I always thought. Anyways I'm going to hang with this new puppy for a lonnnnnng trial run. 

 

Funny thing is, I had the opportunity to pick up a putter (at a show stopping deal) I have been lusting over for some time now however I reframed from it to give the blade another shot in the ole bag.

I just placed my order for an EVN Roll ER2. I also purchased a 6 gal. air compressor for installing my new Pure Grips. I suppose it's a bit overkill for grips, but I'll use it for other things, being as I'm a Cabinetmaker and always doing something for someone...lol.

I bought this new 2017 Callaway Hyper Lite 5 with a gift certificate my wife got for me for Christmas. I walked 9 with it today and I love it. The top organizing system is like the "kabuki" that Mizuno had.

It does not have to be the latest greatest thing to be the best. Heck I am putting the lights out for the last year or so with a rusty lead taped Scotty Cameron 1997 Santa Fe. I think us older guys developed the sight and feel on the older putters. I putted with either a Ping Anser or Zing 2 most of my life. I have another buddy of mine that putts the lights out with an real old Bulls Eye. Now this is just me but I do not care for the milled faced putters or ones with inserts I can not get my feel with them. I know a guy that was a big money hustler that putted lights out for years with an old blade type Wilson Sam Snead Blue Ridge that back in the 60s sold for $5.25 at K Mart or came with a beginner set. LOL round grip and all. You just got to be comfortable and confident over the ball with any putter

Ping G30 Driver!   I have a couple of buddies who game this driver and after hitting theirs a few times, I had to have one.  Good old tax refund driving the greed.....     Now I have two drivers to choose from so let the shoot out begin!

Stopped in a local shop today to look for a 3 wood for him (I have him in training) and ended up with a matching set of Ping Blonde woods for $40. I loved mine back in the day when I played them and really wanted a set. Also need them for the vintage tournament I playing over the summer.

Just found the deal I've been looking for. I went to Iowa to meet some family half way. On the ride home against my wife's wishes, baby was sleeping, stopped at a Nike Clarence store in Medford, MN. Nike RZN Tour Black, my new favorite golf ball. $12.99 a dozen with extra 20%off. $10.39 a dozen after that I bought everything they had out 12 dozen. They restocked before I left but were supposed to have a 10 dozen limit. Baby woke up and was not very happy the rest of the ride home, wife not very happy either. But I was.

Looks like I ended up with PX 6.5 instead of 7.0.. Oh well, they were coated black at the end of last week and got installed in the hogans over the weekend. Just need to throw grips on all of them and we're done
