Got these in the mail from Red Rooster today.  Perfect for my next indoor Sim round. RR’s Heather gloves are just great.  After trying a few RR gloves. This is one of my favourites from RR.

Thought a red rooster was just Chicken I bought Golf gloves on Temu because wifey has account for years and cheap will post pics plus I bought a cheap cheap cheap push scooter as well but that’s coming via the Sea so about 6ish weeks hopefully

Booked my one free fitting for the calendar year at Club Champion as a par member who's spent some cash over the years for Saturday just to hit the newer releases in late 2024 (TE, Cobra, Mizzy) to get an idea od potential builds for what I may want iron and wedge wise in 2024. Not looking to buy on Saturday, but also might figure out my putter shaft questions.

My KBS driver shaft if not working for me. Bought a cheap Riptide LX to give it a good in my gamer head. If I like the feel and the head is not working (I have a love hate relationship with my Epic Max LS) I will likely sell and go for a E725 in the Denali black since I hear the LX is similar in feel to the Denali Black.

Whelp bought me a few new items after some reading on here. 1st up is the GrooveIt club brush as clean clubs play better right?? HAHA, least ill look good! 2nd is the Blue Tee's Ringer so I can hopefully pay more attention to golf and enjoying the round than being on my phone tracking stats or grabbing my rangefinder to get info on which club to use. Next is also mention below as I found a solid deal on a new VENTUS Blue 5R NON Velocore "Made for" shaft my current gamer, Callaway Ai Smoke Max D head. Hoping for a tad more consistency with dispersion & a little less spin.

Shafts are always a trial and error thing sadly as I'm sure you know they perform so different person to person. I just ordered a Ventus Blue 5R Non Velocore "Made for" shaft to try with my current gamer. Want to see if it can provide a bit more consistency over the current TENSEI AV Blue.

I have hit the Ventus non-velocore regular and the Tensei AV blue. The Ventus non-velocore at regular flex was a no go for me, even at my swing speed. It does something weird in transition for my swing. But we all swing different so I hope it suits you better to help you find that consistency.

Your a stronger man than I sir after a fitting the only thing that stops me buying is I don’t have $5-6k for Ping irons that weren’t that much better than my Mizuno irons plus I didn’t like the guy doing the fitting…

Well my PGM golf gloves arrived and a little Tight but look great and for $4 each bargain, the magnet tees look great too plus the pouch for balls maybe $20 all up

I ha e the magnet tees. I've used them a few times and they are ok. Warning, If you happen to hit the club into the tee base, it will leave a permanent mark in the club, possibly a ding mark too!

I’ve used them before and it’s rare for me too hit the base but as said it’s only necessary once mostly I hit on the bottom half of the face with driver because I’ve found it’s harder for me to slice and easier to draw with an in to out swing

Yesterday my used 60 degree cleveland rtx3 cavity back with rotex graphite shaft finally arrived after ups took it on a detour around the Midwest. It matches the 50 (turned to 52) and 56 that I already had and have liked. Hit it in the sim last night and seems to do what it should. Full shots about 10 yards shorter than my 56 and I was hitting it straight. I look forward to trying it on real grass and around the green, but that likely won't happen until spring. Most things I've read said a 60 degree wedge will add strokes for most amateurs, so I plan to be cautious before using it in the course. 

While not a purchase, my dad "lent" me one of my high school sets he'd kept and reshafted years ago. It's a set of Titleist Tour Model circa 1986. He replaced the dynamic stiff shafts with precision rifle flighted shafts in regular flex. 

I hit the 30 degree 5 iron (same loft as my Mizuno 7 iron). Fortunately, the regular flex did not seem to be a noticeable issue for me and I didn't wake up sore today from hitting heavy steel shafts. I've noticed that traditional weight shafts greatly reduce my pull hook tendency. I've been working on changing my swing to reduce my wrist roll, but going to a heavy (120g) shaft instantly improves my shot shape and dispersion.

Interestingly, the 30 degree 5 iron (1/2 inch longer than my 7 iron) launched a fraction lower than my 7 iron, but had 5-10% more spin on similar shots. The Mizuno jpx 923 7 iron is chromoly forged and maybe designed for lower spin to get better distance. I plan to compare the shorter irons over the next few days. 

I may add weight to Mizuno shafts as I seem to get much better contact. But I also plan to keep working on reducing my rapid wrist turnover into the shot.

I'm in the process of buying a new driver (loving the Krank ones) and test hitting some this weekend.

Finally, bought a broomstick putter that will help my putting.

I have this putter. Got it back in 1989 when I was in HS. Don’t use it much anymore though. Still a classic.

... I wanted to see how much difference the King Tec 5 iron with a 2* stronger loft and thinner face compared to my King Tour 5 iron. After rounds I have found it to be bout 7 yds longer with fills the gap better between my 6 iron and 4 hybrid. Now I am considering adding a King Tec 6 and 7 iron. The only downside is most hollow headed irons, with the exception of Taylor Made, usually feel like  when hit low on the face. When my back is stiff, that is my miss.

Because tis the tinkering season, I grabbed this today:

The high bounce SM-10’s I have work great on the local turf, but not so much on the carpet I hit off of in the basement with the SIM. So I grabbed a low bounce 60 to see if it would perform any better in these conditions. So far, the results are encouraging. It’s also tempting me to grab a set of the RTZs, once they are released next season.

If you want to refinish the Ping, I recommend letting Ping do it, you just need to tell them what you want done, they give you a price and you send it to them.

Here is mine I got done last year. from before( after soaking in Coke a cola) to after Ping refinished. The lighting on some pics was brighter
