Realtor just called with some frigging awesome news.

 

Apparently there is a developer that is looking for a place to buy and build some small rentals on. It just so happens that I have 3 lots attached to my house...

 

The guy wants to see the place for first dibs before it hits the market...

 

And there is a possibility that they'll let use lease back for the 9 months we have left.

 

Talk about a hole in one!!

Personification of a optimist?

 

I 'm on the driving range yesterday and the oldest member of our club - a 94 yr old ex Tuskagee Airman shows up. I asked him how he played the other day (I knew he had played with our men's group on Wednesday). He said not too well - he got a 93 so he stopped by the office yesterday to talk to the pro about some lessons. He thought there were things in his game he could still improve upon. Now that's positive thinking.

So yesterday I went out to my old home course on a whim as I hadn't played it in 3 years. Got paired with a 3 some of friends. Perfect.

 

My cart partner seems friendly enough. On the second hole he ask where I live and I say about 10 minutes away in the same city.

 

Then he asks where I work. Not really wanting to talk a lot about my job on golf I just want to enjoy the round. I just say the city where I work. He of course coukddnt levscr it at that. He ask what I do. I say simply Sales.

 

Sof course he follows up with what do you sell. So I finally relented and told him where I work and what capacity.

 

Here it comes ........the very next sentence out of his mouth. So can you hook us up with a free round ?

 

Now alot of people say that jokingly. But he was 100% sincere.

 

I said. Sure but Youd have to play with me and it'd have to be a weekday. Hoping that would lessen the chances.

 

He says perfect. I make my own schedule. I kinda say. Sure then let me know. But don't offer any contact info.

 

On the next tee box. He says "Guys. Rob just invited us all for free golf at his course "

 

So there went my "busmans holiday". Ha

Yeah. It's just like they say. The surest way to never get an invite to play a nice Private Club is to ask a member for an invite.

 

Now my course is no way a private club, just the opposite. It's a daily municipal course. But a decent one.

 

Funny thing is. If the guy had just been patient. I probably would have invited all three of them by the end of the round.

 

They were all nice enough guys and we had a good time with banter and all played to about the same level.

 

But yeah pretty ballsy to out and out ask.

That response reminded me of a real story. I have a good friend who named his powerboat good vibrations. A rather dowdy lady once asked him how he and his wife came up with the name ...his response to her was they owned a vibrator company (as in the female type). She never talked to him again.
