I have a feeling that to get reciprocal interest from Belichek he would want 100% control, and that’s not easy for any owner to want to sign up for. Morris in hindsight may be a great choice. I’d like to see the Falcons do well (except against the Lions) and be interesting to follow. If the sign Cousins I’d be an instant fan. As a lions fan I don’t pretend to know the Falcons roster but speculating here, I don’t see much improvement with his record unless there is a talent upgrade to the roster. While Dan Campbell certainly changed the lions culture on the field and in the locker room, the biggest change they made was hiring Brad Holmes (from the Rams) as the GM. Add in an owner (finally) that wants to win and everything about the team changed. I’ll even add in Chris Spielman for his work in the background of the front office. Having a coach the players respect is a good first step but they’ll need more, and I don’t know much about their front office. Hopefully they can get the right mix of talent as well as depth. Likely not with his age, however he would have brought a prestige to the team which is undeniable. Would he have stayed on after coaching to do GM or other front office duties? Guess we will never know. If Morris can get an excellent OC and get their last few seasons of draft picks involved and playing closer to their potential then we have a starting point. If a longer term solution can be found at QB then we are even better off. It is going to be a process, but I think any and all rebuilds are. And Williams or Maye is most definitely the answer for a franchise that has never had a franchise QB. So many fans watch highlights and Fields running ability can be spectacular. But watching every down of every game is a completely different story. His inability to read a defense pre snap and then consistently hold the ball for over 4 seconds because he has no idea what a defense os doing would kill any teams offense. The worst part of some of his nice runs is, there was a WR open and he didn't have to run. More then a few times he gave up a TD and ran when someone was quite literally wide open. Bears had Cutler which is arguably the best qb to ever play for the bears. Why they never gave him more offensive pieces is beyond me.
