Mini Golf in Prime Time

So it appears a mini golf show is coming to prime time on ABC. I'm sure I will check it out. Will you?

NBA champion Steph Curry will soon be trading the court for the putting green. The Golden State Warriors guard recently announced that he will be executive producing Holey Moley, a new mini-golf competition TV series on ABC.

In each episode, 12 contestants of varying golf skill levels will compete in three rounds of putt-putt on an extreme mini-golf obstacle course. At the end, the top three finalists will then vie for the $25,000 grand prize along with the “Golden Putter” trophy and special “Holey Moley” plaid jacket by playing in the “Mt. Holey Moley” finale.

Throughout the show, commentary will be provided by comedian Rob Riggle (you may remember him from The Hangover) and NFL sportscaster Joe Tessitore while Jeannie Mai, co-host of The Real, will be the resident sideline correspondent. And Curry himself will star in each episode alongside celebrity guests.

“Everyone has a favorite memory of playing miniature golf, whether it was as a child with your family, with a group of friends as a teenager, or on an awkward first date,” Rob Mills, a senior vice president at ABC, told Variety. ” Take that feeling, add high stakes competition and out-of-this-world challenges, and we have no doubt Holey Moley will stand alongside other golf classics.”

To produce the show, ABC is partnering with Unanimous Media, the entertainment company that Curry co-founded in 2018. His fellow founder and current CEO of Unanimous, Jeron Smith, said to Variety, “This show will surely bring laughter and enjoyment to households around the country… [It] will be fun, intense and unpredictable.”

The release date for the new 10-episode series has yet to be announced.
