Need a Driving Iron...

I use this one with the Kuro Kage shaft:

https://www.golfworks.com/paks/c/10015/

The price can't be beat. Everyone who hit it says they can't believe it's so good for less than a hundred bucks.

I also use a heavier weight in the head to make it feel closer to my irons and offset the midsize grip.

I have an 18* Dynacraft driving iron. I got the head from Hireko Golf and had local club builder put it on an old steel Rifle shaft I had. But I recently upgraded to graphite shaft, Kura Kage Black but only got on the course once since the shutdown but the initial results are promising. I’ve put less than $100 into the club.

Have you hit the crossover? I couldnt stand the sound of it. Performed as well as anything, but opted for the Srixon U85. Sub70 has a great deal on a driving iron as well.

I've got a GAPR Lo and the sound is... not great. But it's the feel that really gets me: it feels just like a wooden baseball bat. Flushed shots feel like crushing one off the barrel and anything other than dead center feels like taking one off the handle.

agreed about the feel. put this club down after 10 balls or so when I was demoing utility irons, as it just felt harsh. granted, i dont have great ball striking skills, especially with long irons where I tend to drift toe side. seems like the heavy weighted screw is dead center, and if you literally catch it on the screws, it feels crushed. maybe you get away with a slight mishit heelside, but toe side it just feels bad. The performance, the output, distance is all really good though. To be fair, it probably shines more in the sub 20 lofts, and I was looking for something in the 21-23 range.

I have a GAPR MID 3 that I use for a driving iron.  I haven't tried a LO, but I would say the feedback at impact is similar.  Feels very good on dead center, but very hard anywhere else.

I have the Gapr lo as well. The wooden bat analogy is perfect, however I still find if I miss the center the ball still flys out there extremely well. Really gives me a nice mid penetrating flight and would highly recommend
