Great idea Tony.  I just submitted a comment in their FAQ site. I've received email offers from SS a couple of times since getting/registering the V2 for discounts on upgrades to the V3... but had no compelling reason to spend the money.  In fact, I just recently dumped the latest email from them.

And being based in Scotland, I'm pretty sure they've seen periodic rain

I would send SS support an email with the specifics. I don't know how often they check comments on the support site but I'll bet you get a response to your email within 24-48 hrs.

It happened again this past Sunday; I got the error message that no course within 1KM.  The same thing happened the previous Sunday, at a different course.  I emailed them and the said the remapped the course and that I should log out of the app on my phone, log in and update...which I did.  It seemed to work.  Well it happened again last Sunday at another course I play frequently.  I was pretty pissed off when I emailed them again.  It seems this is a 'known issue' and are sending me a new V3

Sounds like the database on your V3 got corrupt.   While it is annoying and frustrating at least they have good customer service and stand behind their product

Paul, I assume you've probably done thiis...but just in case: When you get your new watch go into courses and either subscribe or delete the courses on the V3. I check the courses on a regular basis to make sure I've got the latest updates.

I bought a Shotscope V3 and would never buy anything from them again.  The batteries do not last.  For the first V3 I had, the battery lasted less than a year.  Shotscope replaced it and with the new one it lasted about 2 months.  Piece of junk IMHO.

Strange. I've had my V3 since the release date and the battery is fine. Unfortunately that sort of thing happens with every product.

As a Shot Scope user and having been lucky enough to be chosen as a tester for Shot Scope here at MGS. I can say with certainty, I love it.

The interface is really nicely setup for either use on a computer or your phone.

The ability to use the watch without any thought of what's ahead (water, bunker, etc.) is really settling. Golf is hard enough sometimes.

The GPS is really very good for shot dispersion and shot location.

 

I've seen the ARCCOS stuff and yes the analytics are a little better but for the initial cost of a watch or new rangefinder that tracks your golf, it just seems so much better. And no monthly or yearly fees to use Shot Scope.

Hmm - I did have a 'battery problem" once but it turned out to be operator error - I wasn't putting the clip on properly. Earlier this year my wife had an issue with the interface between the watch and the app. They sent her a new watch and no issues after. I'm not doubting that you've had issues - just saying there are lots of very satisfied customers out there and they (Shotscope) have a very responsive CS department. I'm starting my 3 yd year this winter and with an average yearly play of very 150 rounds on the V3 - it's held up solidly.

Aren’t you replacing a V3 with a V3?  Should just be as simple as connecting the watch via Bluetooth.

I have contacted PGA tour superstore (I bought the original from them).  They got me the replacement the first time but they have not heard back from Shotscope this time.  It has been over a month.

I thought this board would like to know about issues with the Shotscope but I guess you believe there should only be positive reviews.  Do you sell Shotscope or have any other financial interest in them?  Seems like you have much more of an interest in this product than a mere user.  Don't you think you should disclose your conflicts of interest.

The information you just provided is more valuable than the original post.   In the first post you basically said I’ve had two and they have battery problems don’t buy shotscope.   In this post you have said vendor replaced your first on and with the second the vendor hasn’t  heard from the OEM.  Have you contact the OEM?   They have been very responsive to my requests and I have had what I consider to be significant problems.    
negative comments are welcome, but also providing supporting information on actions taken or not taken provides value and credibility to a post.
