Hook DeLoft 726
I really like my Gen 3 0311 P's, so I am looking forward to this release. Having said that, I can't see paying the full price when they first come out. I'm too much of a club ho. If I kept a set of irons for a number of years I might be willing to pay big prices for them. It seems the looks of PXG irons are a love 'em or hate 'em proposition. I am on the fence. I would prefer a cleaner look in the back of my irons but the look at address and the performance are spot on. I do hope you can get the Gen 5's with chrome or silver pieces behind the screws instead of the black shown. Of course, it will be a few years before that matters to me. 1 Quote 14 of the following: Ping G425 Max Callaway Epic Max 5 wood Cobra F9 Speedback 7/8 wood set at 23.5 degrees Callaway Epic Max 11 wood PXG 0311P Gen. 3 6-GW PXG 0211 5-GW PXG 0211 sand wedge bent to 53 degrees Maltby M Series+ 54 degree Ping Glide 3.0 Eye2 58 degree Ping Glide 3.0 60 degree Evnroll ER2 Ping Sigma 2 Anser
ChitownM2 729
I have always like the look of PXG irons, but these are....something else. Not sure why they felt the need to use the different colors for heel and toe but it isn't exactly pleasing to the eye. I wonder if they will let you order them with matching colors? I think these would be OK if they just had the normal matching heel/toe with opposite colored screws.

I’m curious to see what my trackman numbers look like compared to my new gen Taylormade P790s. in4par 18
I personally preferred the Gen 4 over the 790’s because it has a thinner top line but that’s just me.

I'm not in the market for buying any irons and if I was, even then Gen 4 would be way out of my price range. Agree that there probably isn't much difference between each release. It is kind of odd to see PXG doing that at this price point, every other manufacturer has a 2 year or more cycle on all their irons except TM, Callaway, & Cobra and for those it's usually only their GI line. Gen4s will drop when gen5 release. What will be interesting to see if they drop gen2 and 3 as well There have been changes in feel and sound each release. Launch, spin, ball speed have had noticeable changes each release too. Have the changes been a huge change, or subtle? And are the launch, spin, and ball-speed changes the results of stronger lofts, because all of those can be achieved with stronger lofts...feel and sound not so much! That said, I have my eyes set on a set of Gen 3's...I love the old T-zoid look! The design and technology changed. PXG puts a lot of information on their site that for some reason many people don’t go look at before they make comments about the brand, then again that applies for most brands depending on the conversation. Here is their comparison for Gen 1-3.
