Wouldn’t this info cause one to be stuck ?

Recommended Posts

This is the problem with picking out a video on YouTube for “fixing” and issue.

To answer your title question no this will not cause one to get stuck.

Yes this could be a train wreck for many wreck for many because there are assumptions that have to be made ano it other things being done properly such as good grip, good sequencing of the backswing and shaft in a good spot at the top.

This video is addressing those who shallow the club via train side bend and not thru pressure shift, additional lead side bend as he demonstrate and proper wrist and arm movements in transition.

There are lots of videos on YouTube that will be a train wreck if someone tried to implement without knowing the exact reason they have a certain flaw or compensation for flaw.

Agree Ricky.Actually I can see train wrecks with learning online in general. How do you guys do it ?

Depends on what you are considering online learning.

Most people don’t have have success using a quick tip or other video like this unless they understand the swing and their specific issue then they can find a video specific to that issue. It’s why if someone is looking to learn from a YouTube instructor I point them to those who teach the swing in a series of videos like Chris Ryan as an example.

If you are referring to an online instructor that’s a lot different because they are sending videos into their chosen instructor who is reviewing them, providing feedback and giving them things to work on

Great reply young man. I find it amazing on how broad a spectrum of videos will pop up under that search title. And how many messages being relayed are complete opposite from one video to the next on that topic

Yup. Search how to stop slicing driver and see the number of videos and different thoughts on what to do

It's a very dangerous practice.  It used to be just as bad when I was younger, BTW.  Instead of You Tube there were the old stand byes of Golf and Golf Digest that came to the mailbox on a monthly basis.  Each had some sort of tips section that was guaranteed to keep people exactly where they were at as a player.  A video instructor where you send in your videos, he or she critiques, makes suggestions including drills and perhaps some videos to watch that pertain to your particular swing issues and strengths.  That type of video works well for many.  Randomly watching instructional videos without knowing much about your own swing is no bueno!

Taylor Made Stealth 2 10.5 Diamana S plus 60  Aldila  R flex   - 42.25 inches

SMT 4 wood bassara R flex, four wood head, 3 wood shaft

Ping G410 7, 9 wood  Alta 65 R flex

Srixon ZX5 MK II  5-GW - UST recoil Dart 65 R flex

India 52,56 (60 pending)  UST recoil 75's R flex

Evon roll ER 5 32 inches

It's our offseason so auditioning candidates - looking for that right mix of low spin long, more spin around the greens - TBD
